< Ieremia 45 >
1 O KA olelo a Ieremia, a ke kaula i olelo ai ia Baruka ke keiki a Neria, ia ia i kakau ai i keia mau olelo maloko o ka buke, no ka waha mai o Ieremia, i ka makahiki eha o Iehoiakima, ke keiki a Iosia, ke alii o ka Iuda, i mai la,
This is the word that Jeremiah the prophet told Baruch son of Neriah. This happened when he wrote in a scroll these words at Jeremiah's dictation—this was in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah, and he said,
2 Ke olelo mai nei o Iehova, ke Akua o ka Iseraela ia oe, E Baruka, penei;
“Yahweh, God of Israel, says this to you, Baruch:
3 Ua olelo mai no oe, Ano la, auwe ia'u! no ka mea, ua hooili mai o Iehova i ke kaumaha maluna o ko'u eha: Maule no au i ko'u kaniuhu ana, aole loaa ia'u ka hoomaha.
You have said, 'Woe is me, for Yahweh has added agony to my pain. My groaning has wearied me; I find no rest.'
4 Penei oe e olelo ai ia ia, Ke olelo mai nei o Iehova penei; Aia hoi, o ka mea a'u i kukulu ai, oia ka'u e wawahi ai, a o ka mea a'u i kanu ai, oia ka'u e uhuki ai, o keia aina hoi a pau.
This is what you must say to him: 'Yahweh says this: See, what I built, I am now tearing down. What I planted, I am now pulling up—I will do this throughout all the earth.
5 Ke imi nei anei oe i mea nui nou! Mai imi oe; no ka mea, aia hoi, e lawe mai no wau i ka hewa maluna a na mea ola a pau, wahi a Iehova; aka, e haawi no wau i kou ola ia oe, i waiwai pio nou, ma na wahi a pau au e hele aku ai.
But are you hoping for great things for yourself? Do not hope for that. For see, disaster is coming on all humanity—this is Yahweh's declaration—but I am giving you your life as your plunder everywhere you will go.'”
