< Hosea 14 >
1 E KA Iseraela, e huli mai oe ia Iehova kou Akua; No ka mea, ua haule oe ma kou hewa iho.
Return thou, O Israel, unto Yahweh thy God, —for thou hast stumbled by thine iniquity.
2 E lawe me oukou i na olelo, a e huli oukou ia Iehova: E i aku ia ia, E lawe aku oe i na hewa a pau, A e ae lokomaikai mai, A e hoihoi aku makou i na mohai o ko makou lehelehe.
Take with you words, and return to Yahweh: say unto him—Wholly, shalt thou take away iniquity, Accept, then, with favour, and we will make good the boldness of our lips!
3 Aole e hoola ko Asuria ia makou; Aole makou e holo maluna o ka lio; Aole hoi makou e olelo hou aku i ka hana a ko makou mau lima. O oe ko makou Akua: No ka mea, ma ou la e loaa'i i ka poe makua ole ka lokomaikai.
Assyria, shall not save us, Upon horses, will we not ride, neither will we say any more—Our god! to the work of our own hands! For, in thee, shall the fatherless, find compassion.
4 A e kala aku au i ko lakou kipi ana, E aloha wale aku hoi au ia lakou: No ka mea, ua huli ae kuu inaina mai ona aku la.
I will heal their apostacy, I will love them freely, —for mine anger, hath turned, from them.
5 E like auanei au me ka hau i ka Iseraela; E pua auanei oia e like me ka lilia, A e kolo lea kona mau aa e like me Lebanona.
I will become as the dew unto Israel, he shall break forth as the lily, —and he shall strike his roots as Lebanon:
6 A e palahalaha aku kona mau lala, A e like auanei kona nani me ka laau oliva, E like hoi kona ala me Lebanona.
His branches, shall spread, that, like an olive-tree, may be his fresh beauty, —and his fragrance, like Lebanon.
7 E hoi mai ka poe e noho ana malalo o kona malu; E kupu mai lakou me ka ai, A e ulu lakou me ke kumuwaina: A o kona inoa ua like me ka waina o Lebanona.
They who dwell in his shade shall again show life like the corn, and break forth as the vine, —and, the remembrance of him, shall be like the wine of Lebanon.
8 E olelo iho o Eperaima, Heaha ka'u e hana hou aku ai i na kii? Ua lohe au a ua nana hou au ia ia; Ua like au me ka laau kaa uliuli; Mai o'u aku ua loaa ia oe ka hua.
Ephraim [saith] —What to me any more are idols? I, have answered, and have closely observed him, I, am like a fir-tree that is green, From me, is thy fruit found.
9 Owai ka mea naauao, i noonoo ai oia i keia mau mea? A akamai hoi, i ike ai oia i keia mau mea? No ka mea, o na aoao o Iehova, ua pololei, A e hele ka poe pono iloko olaila; Aka, o ka poe lawehala, e haule lakou iloko olaila.
Who is wise, that he may understand these things? intelligent, that he may take knowledge of them? For, straightforward, are the ways of Yahweh, and, the righteous, shall travel therein, but, transgressors, shall stumble therein.
