Therfor Joseph was led in to Egipt, and Putifar, `chast and onest seruaunt of Farao, prince of the oost, a man of Egipt, bouyte hym of the hondis of Ismaelitis, of which he was brouyt.

And the Lord was with hym, and he was a man doynge with prosperite in alle thingis. And Joseph dwellide in `the hows of his lord,

which knew best that the Lord was with Joseph, and that alle thingis whiche he dide, weren dressid of the Lord in `the hond of hym.
4 A loaa ia Iosepa ka lokomaikaiia imua ona, a hookauwa aku ia nana, a hoolilo aku la oia ia ia i luna no kona ohua, a no kona waiwai a pau, a waiho aku la ia i kana mea a pau i kona lima.
And Joseph foond grace bifor his lord, and `mynystride to hym, of whom Joseph was maad souereyn of alle thingis, and gouernede the hows bitaken to hym, and alle thingis that weren bitakun to hym.

And the Lord blesside the `hows of Egipcian for Joseph, and multipliede al his catel, as wel in howsis as in feeldis;

And so aftir many daies the ladi castide hir iyen in to Joseph, and seide, Slepe thou with me;

which assentide not to the vnleueful werk, and seide to hir, Lo! while alle thingis ben bitakun to me, my lord woot not what he hath in his hows,
9 Aohe mea nui e ae oloko o keia hale, owau wale no; aole keia i paa aku i kekahi mea ia'u, o oe wale no, no ka mea, o kana wahine no oe. Pehea la wau e hana'i i keia hewa nui, a hana ino aku i ke Akua?
nether ony thing is, which is not in my power, ether which `he hath not bitake to me, outakun thee, which art his wijf; how therfor may Y do this yuel, and do synne ayens my lord?

And sche took `the hem of his clooth, and sche seide, Slepe thou with me; and he lefte the mentil in hir hoond, and he fledde, and yede out.
13 A ike aku la ua wahine la, ua haalele ia i kona kapa ma kona lima, a ua holo aku la iwaho,
And whanne the womman hadde seyn the clooth in hir hondis, and that sche was dispisid,
14 Kahea aku la ua wahine la i na kanaka o kona hale, olelo aku la ia lakou, i aku la, E nana oukou, ua lawe mai nei kela i ke kanaka no ka poe Hebera io kakou nei, e hoomaewaewa mai ia kakou. Hele mai la oia io'u nei e moe me au, a kahea aku la au me ka leo nui;
sche clepide to hir the men of hir hows, and seide to hem, Lo! my lord hath brouyt in an Ebrew man, that he schulde scorn vs; he entride to me to do leccherie with me, and whanne Y criede, and he herde my vois,

Therfor in to the preuyng of trouthe, sche schewide the mantil, holdun to the hosebonde turnynge ayen hoom.
17 Olelo aku la ua wahine la ia ia i keia mau olelo, i aku la, O ko kauwa Hebera, au i lawe mai ai io kakou nei, ua komo mai ia io'u nei e hoomaewaewa mai ia'u.
And she seide, The Ebrew seruaunt, whom thou brouytist, entride to me to scorne me; and whanne he siy me crye,

And whanne these thingis weren herd, the lord bileuyde ouer myche to the wordis of the wijf, and was ful wrooth;
20 Lalau mai la ka haku o Iosepa ia in, hahao aku la ia ia iloko o ka halepaahao, i kahi i paa ai ka poe paa o ke alii, a paa no ia maluila ma ka halepaahao.
and he bitook Joseph in to prisoun, where the bounden men of the kyng weren kept, and he was closid there.
21 Me Iosepa no o Iehova, aloha nui mai la ia ia, a haawi mai la ia ia i ka pono imua o na maka o ka mea nana i malama ka halepaahao.
Forsothe the Lord was with Joseph, and hadde mercy on hym, and yaf grace to hym in the siyt of the prince of the prisoun,
22 Waiho ae la ka mea nana i malama ka halepaahao i ka poe paa a pau oloko o ka halepaahao i ka lima o Iosepa, a o na mea a pau i hanaia malaila, nana no ia i hana.

23 Aole hoi i nana aku ka luna o ka halepaahao i kekahi mea malalo iho o kona lima, no ka mea, aia no o Iehova me ia, a hoopomaikai mai la o Iehova i ka hana a pau ana i hana'i.
for alle thingis weren bitakun to Joseph; for the Lord was with hym, and dresside alle his werkis.
