< Ezekiela 22 >
1 HIKI mai la ka olelo a Iehova ia'u, i mai la,
And there is a word of YHWH to me, saying,
2 Ano hoi, e ke keiki a ke kanaka, e hoohewa anei oe, e hoohewa oe i ke kulanakauhale koko? Oia, e hoike no oe ia ia i kona mau mea a pau i inainaia.
“And you, son of man, do you judge? Do you judge the city of blood? Then you have caused it to know all its abominations,
3 E olelo aku oe, Ke i mai nei Iehova ka Huku, penei; Ke hookahe nei ke kulanakauhale i ke koko iwaenakonu ona, i hiki mai kona manawa, a ua hana oia i na akua kii e ku e ia ia iho, e hoohaumia ia ia iho.
and you have said, Thus said Lord YHWH: The city is shedding blood in its midst, For the coming in of its time, And it has made idols on it for defilement.
4 I ke koko au i hookahe ai, ua hewa oe, a ma na akua kii au i hana'i, ua hoohaumia oe ia oe iho; a ua hookokoke no oe i kou mau la, a ua hiki mai hoi i kou mau makahiki; nolaila i hoolilo aku ai au ia oe i mea e hoinoia e na lahuikanaka, a i mea e henehene ai ko na aina a pau.
You have been guilty by your blood that you have shed, And you have been defiled by your idols that you have made, And you cause your days to draw near, And have come to your years, Therefore I have given you [for] a reproach to nations, And a derision to all the lands.
5 O ka poe kokoke mai a me ka poe mamao aku ia oe, e henehene no lakou ia oe ka mea inoa haumia, a ua hoouluhua nui ia.
The near and the far-off from you scoff at you, O defiled of name—abounding in trouble.
6 Eia hoi, o na'lii o ka Iseraela, kela mea keia mea iloko ou ma ka hookahe koko lakou me ko lakou ikaika.
Behold, princes of Israel—each according to his arm Have been in you to shed blood.
7 O ka makuakane a me ka makuwahine ka lakou i hoowahawaha ai iloko ou; ma ka hooluhihewa i hana aku ai lakou i ka malihini iloko ou; a maloko ou i hoopilikia ai lakou i na mea makua ole a me na wahine kanemake.
They have made light of father and mother in you, They dealt oppressively to a sojourner in your midst, They oppressed fatherless and widow in you.
8 Ua hoowahawaha oe i ko'u mau mea hoano, a ua hoohaumia hoi oe i ko'u mau Sabati.
You have despised My holy things, And you have defiled My Sabbaths.
9 Maloko ou na kanaka holoholo olelo e hookahe i ke koko; ua ai hoi lakou maluna o na mauna iloko ou; a iwaenakonu ou ua hana lakou ma ka moe kolohe.
Men of slander have been in you to shed blood, And they have eaten on the mountains in you, They have done wickedness in your midst.
10 Maloko ou, ua wehe lakou i kahi huna o ko lakou makuakane; a maloko ou ua hoohaahaa lakou i ka wahine i hookaawaleia'e no ka heekoko.
One has uncovered the nakedness of a father in you, They humbled the menstruous woman in you.
11 Ua hana kekahi i ka mea inainaia me ka wahine a kona hoalauna, a ua hoohaumia kekahi i kana hunona wahine ma ka moo kolohe; a ua hoohaahaa kekahi iloko ou i kona kaikuwahine, he kaikamahine a kona makuakane.
And each has done abomination with the wife of his neighbor, And each has defiled his daughter-in-law through wickedness, And each has humbled his sister, his father’s daughter, in you.
12 Maloko ou ua lawe lakou i na kipe e hookahe i ke koko; ua lawe oe i ke kuala a me ka uku panee, a ua loaa ia oe me ka makee, o ka kou mau hoalauna, ma ka hooluhihewa, a ua hoopoina mai ia'u, wahi a Iehova ka Haku.
They have taken a bribe to shed blood in you, You have taken usury and increase, And cut off your neighbor by oppression, And you have forgotten Me, A declaration of Lord YHWH!
13 Nolaila ea, ua pai au i kuu mau lima i kou waiwai alunu i loaa ia oe, a me kou koko i hookaheia iwaenakonu ou.
And behold, I have struck My hand, Because of your dishonest gain that you have gained, And for your blood that has been in your midst.
14 E hiki anei i kou naau ke hoomanawanui, a e ikaika anei kou mau lima i na la e lalau aku ai au ia oe? Na'u na Iehova i olelo, a na'u no ia o hana.
Does your heart stand—are your hands strong, For the days that I am dealing with you? I, YHWH, have spoken and have done [it].
15 E lulu aku au ia oe iwaena o na lahuikanaka, a e hooleilei aku ia oe iwaena o na aina, a e hoopau aku i kou haumia mailoko aku ou.
And I have scattered you among nations, And have spread you out among lands, And consumed your uncleanness out of you.
16 A e lawe oe i kou hooilina iloko ou iho, imua i ke alo o na lahuikanaka, a e ike oe owau no Iehova.
And you have been defiled in yourself Before the eyes of nations, And you have known that I [am] YHWH.”
17 Hiki mai la ka olelo a Iehova ia'u, i mai la,
And there is a word of YHWH to me, saying,
18 E ke keiki a ke kanaka, ua lilo ka ohana a Iseraela i lepo ia'u nei; o lakou a pau he keleawe, he piuta, he hao, a he kepaupoka, iloko o ka umu hoohehee; he lepo no hoi o ke kala.
“Son of man, the house of Israel has been for dross to Me, All of them [are] bronze, and tin, and iron, and lead, In the midst of a furnace—silver has been dross,
19 Nolaila, wahi a Iehova ka Haku; no ka lilo ana o oukou a pau i lepo, nolaila, ea, e hoakoakoa au ia oukou iwaenakonu o Ierusalema;
Therefore, thus said Lord YHWH: Because you have all become dross, Therefore, behold, I am gathering you into the midst of Jerusalem,
20 E like me ko lakou houluulu ana i ke kala, a me ke keleawe, a me ka hao, a me ke kepaupoka a me ka piuta iwaenakonu o ka umu hoohehee, e puhi i ke ahi maluna olaila, e hoohehee iho; pela e houluulu ai au, me ko'u huhu a me ko'u ukiuki, a e waiho iho, a e hoohehee ia oukou.
A gathering of silver, and bronze, and iron, and lead, and tin, Into the midst of a furnace—to blow fire on it, to melt it, So I gather in My anger and in My fury, And I have let rest, and have melted you.
21 Oia, e houluulu au ia oukou, a e puhi maluna o oukou iloko o ke ahi o ko'u ukiuki, a pau oukou i ka hooheheeia iwaenakonu ona.
And I have heaped you up, And blown on you in the fire of My wrath, And you have been melted in its midst.
22 Me he kala la i hooheheeia iwaena konu o ka umu hoohehee, pela oukou e hooheheeia'i iloko ona; a e ike oukou ua ninini aku au i ko'u huhu, maluna o oukou.
As the melting of silver in the midst of a furnace, So you are melted in its midst, And you have known that I, YHWH, have poured out My fury on you.”
23 Hiki mai la hoi ka olelo a Iehova ia'u, i mai la,
And there is a word of YHWH to me, saying,
24 E ke keiki a ke kanaka, e olelo aku oe ia ia, O oe no ka aina i waele ole ia, a i ua ole ia i ka la i huhu ai.
“Son of man, say to it, You [are] a land, It [is] not cleansed nor rained on in a day of indignation.
25 He ohumu kipi o kona mau kaula iwaenakonu ona, e like me ka liona e uwo ana, e haehae ana i ka mea pio; ua ai lakou i na uhane, ua lawe lakou i ke kala, a me na mea makamae; a ua hoonui lakou nona i na wahinekanemake iwaena konu ona.
A conspiracy of its prophets [is] in its midst, As a roaring lion tearing prey; They have devoured the soul, They have taken wealth and glory, Its widows have multiplied in its midst.
26 Ua hana ino kona mau kahuna pule i kuu kanawai, a ua hoohaumia lakou i kuu mea hoano; aole lakou i hookaawale iwaena o na mea hoano a me na mea haumia, aole hoi i hoakaka lakou iwaena o ka mea maemae a me ka mea maemae ole, ua huna hoi lakou i ko lakou mau maka i ko'u mau Sabati, a ua hoohaumiaia wau iwaena o lakou.
Its priests have wronged My law, And they defile My holy things, They have not made separation between holy and common, And they have not made known [the difference] between the unclean and the clean, And they have hidden their eyes from My Sabbaths, And I am pierced in their midst.
27 O kona mau alii, iwaenakonu ona, ua like me na ilio hihiu hae e haehae ana i ka mea pio, e hookahe i ke koko, a e luku hoi i na uhane e loaa ia lakou ka waiwai alunu.
Its princes [are] as wolves in its midst, Tearing prey, to shed blood, to destroy souls, For the sake of gaining dishonest gain.
28 Ua hamo aku kona mau kaula ia lakou me ka puna ikaika ole, e nana ana i ka mea lapuwale, a e wanana ana i na mea wahahee no lakou, e olelo ana, Ke i mai nei Iehova ka Haku penei, aole nae i olelo Iehova.
And its prophets have coated with chalk for them, Seeing a vain thing, and divining a lie for them, Saying, Thus said Lord YHWH, And YHWH has not spoken.
29 Ua hooluhihewa na kanaka o ka aina, a kaili wale i ka mea kaili, ua hookaumaha lakou i ka mea haahaa, a me ka mea nele; oia, ua hookaumaha lakou i ka malihini ma ka pono ole.
The people of the land have used oppression, And have taken plunder away violently, And have oppressed humble and needy, And oppressed the sojourner without judgment.
30 Imi aku la au i kahi kanaka iwaena o lakou e hana hou i ka pa, a e ku ma kahi naha imua o ko'u alo no ka aina, i ole au e luku aku ia ia; aole hoi i loaa ia'u.
And I seek from them a man making a wall, And standing in the breach before Me, In behalf of the land—not to destroy it, And I have found none.
31 Nolaila ninini aku la au i ko'u ukiuki maluna o lakou, ua hoopau au ia lakou me ke ahi o ko'u huhu; o ko lakou aoao ponoi ka'u i hoopai aku ai maluna o ko lakou mau poo, wahi a Iehova ka Haku.
And I pour out My indignation on them, I have consumed them by [the] fire of My wrath, I have put their way on their own head, A declaration of Lord YHWH!”
