And this is the blessing, wherewith Moses, the man of God, blessed the children of Israel before his death.

And he said, The Lord came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them: he shone forth from mount Paran, and he came from among myriads of saints; from his right hand he gave a fiery law unto them.

Yea, thou also lovedst the tribes; all their saints were in thy hand; and they, prostrate before thy feet, received thy words.
4 I kauoha mai o Mose ia kakou i ke kanawai, Oia ka mea i ili mai ai no ka ahakanaka o Iakoba.
“The law which Moses commanded us, is the inheritance of the congregation of Jacob.”
5 He alii oia iloko o Iesuruna, I ka wa i hoakoakoa pu ai na luna o kanaka, A i houluulu ai na ohana o ka Iseraela.
Thus became he king in Yeshurun, when the heads of the people were assembled, as one the tribes of Israel.

May Reuben live, and not die; and may not his men be few.
7 Eia ka Iuda; i aku la ia, E hoolohe, e Iehova, i ka leo o Iuda, A e alakai ia ia i kona poe kanaka; E pono no ia ma kona lima iho, A e kokua mai oe ia ia i kona poe enemi.
And this is [the blessing] of Judah, and he said, Hear, Lord, the voice of Judah, and bring him unto his people: let the power of his hands contend for him; and be thou a help to him from his adversaries.

And of Levi he said, Thy Thummim and thy Urim are with thy holy man, whom thou didst prove at Massah, and with whom thou didst strive at the waters of Meribah;

Who said of his father and of his mother, I have not seen him; and who did not acknowledge his brothers, nor regarded his own children; for they observe thy word, and thy covenant they keep.
10 E ao aku lakou i kau olelo kupaa i ka Iakoba, A i kou kanawai i ka Iseraela: E kau lakou i ka mea ala imua ou, A me ka mohai pono maluna o kou kuahu.
They shall teach thy ordinances unto Jacob, and thy law unto Israel: they shall put incense before thee, and whole burnt-sacrifice upon thy altar.
11 E hoomaikai oe, e Iehova, i kona waiwai, E oluolu oe i ka hana a kona lima; E hahau oe i na puhaka o ka poe ku e mai ia ia, A me ka poe e inaina ia ia, i ku hou ole mai ai lakou.
Bless, O Lord, his substance, and receive favorably the work of his hands: crush the loins of those that rise up against him, and those that hate him, that they cannot rise again.
12 I aku la ia no Beniamina, Ka hiwahiwa na Iehova, e noho maluhia me ia; E hoouhi mai oia ia ia i na la a pau, E noho no hoi ia iwaena o kona poohiwi.
And of Benjamin he said, The beloved of the Lord [is he], he shall dwell in safety by him: he will shield him all the day long, and between his shoulders will he dwell.
13 I aku la ia no Iosepa, E hoomaikaiia kona aina e Iehova, No na mea maikai o ka lani, no ka hau, A no na mea e waiho ana malalo i ka honua,
And of Joseph he said, Blessed of the Lord be his land, through the precious gift of heaven, through the dew, and through the deep that coucheth beneath,

And through the precious fruits brought forth by the sun, and through the precious things put forth by the moon,
15 No na mea maikai o na mauna kahiko, No na mea maikai o na puu pau ole,
And through the best things of the ancient mountains, and through the precious things of the everlasting hills,
16 No na mea maikai o ka honua, a me kona mea i piha ai, No ka lokomaikai o ka mea i noho ai ma ka laau; E hiki mai ia maluna o ke poo o Iosepa, A maluna hoi o ka piko poo o ka mea i hookaawaleia e kona poe hoahanau.
And through the precious things of the earth and its fulness, and through the goodwill of him that dwelt in the thorn-bush: may this blessing come upon the head of Joseph, and upon the crown of the head of him that was separated from his brothers.
17 Me ka hanau mua o kona poe bipi, pela kona nani, O na kiwi o ka bipi hihiu, oia kona mau kiwi; Me ia mea e o aku ia i na kanaka ma kahi hookahi, a i na mokuna o ka honua: Oia na umi tausani o Eperaima, a oia na tausani o Manase.
His first-born steer is adorned with glory, and his horns are like the horns of reem; with them shall he push nations together to the ends of the earth: and they are the myriads of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Menasseh.
18 Olelo aku la ia no Zebuluna, E olioli oe, e Zebuluna, i kou hele ana iwaho: O oe hoi, e Isakara, ma kou mau halelewa.
And of Zebulun he said, Rejoice, Zebulun, in thy going out; and, Issachar, in thy tents.
19 E kahea aku lakou i na kanaka o ka mauna; Malaila e kaumaha aku ai i mohai o ka pono: No ka mea, e omo lakou i ka waiwai nui o na moana, A me na waiwai i hunaia ma ke one.
They will call the tribes unto the mountain; there will they offer sacrifices of righteousness; for they will suck the abundance of the seas, and the treasures hid in the sand.
20 Olelo aku ia no Gada, Pomaikai ka mea e hoomahuahua ana ia Gada; Like me ka liona kona noho ana, A e weluwelu ia ia ka lima a me ke poo.
And of Gad he said, Blessed be he that enlargeth Gad: like a lioness lieth he down, and teareth off the arm with the crown of the head.
21 Wae iho la ia i ke kuleana maikai nona, No ka mea, malaila no ke kuleana o ke alakai i waiho ai; A hele aku la ia me na luna o kanaka, Hana aku la ia i ka pono o Iehova, A i kana olelo kupaa me ka Iseraela.
And he provided the first part for himself, because there is the field of the law-giver, of the hidden; and he went forth at the head of the people: he executed the justice of the Lord, and his judgments with Israel.
22 Olelo aku la ia no Dana, o Dana, he keiki liona ia, E lele mai ia mai Basana mai.
And of Dan he said, Dan is a lion's whelp, that leapeth forth from Bashan.
23 Olelo aku la ia no Napetali, E hoonuiia oe i ka lokomaikai, E hoopihaia oe i ka pomaikai o Iehova, E hooliloia nou ke komohana, a me ke kukuluhema.
And of Naphtali he said, O Naphtali, satisfied with favor, and full of the blessing of the Lord, take thou possession of the west and the south.
24 Olelo aku la ia no Asera, E hoopomaikaiia o Asera i na keiki, A e oluolu ia i kona poe hoahanau, A e kupenu iho ia i kona wawae i ka aila.
And of Asher he said, More than [all] the children be Asher blessed: he shall be the most favored of his brethren, and bathe his foot in oil.
25 O ka hao, a me ke keleawe, kou mau kamaa; E like me kou mau la, pela kou malu.
Iron and copper shall be thy bolts; and as thy [younger] days so shall thy old age be.
26 Aohe mea like me ke Akua o Iesuruna, E holo ana no ia maluna o ka lani e kokua ia oe, A maluna o ke ao me kona nani nui.
There is none like unto the God of Yeshurun, who rideth to help thee upon the heavens, and in his excellency upon the skies.
27 O ke Akua mau loa kou puuhonua, A malalo iho na lima mau loa: E hookuke aku ia i na enemi imua ou; A e i mai, E luku aku ia lakou.
Thy refuge is the eternal God, and here beneath, the everlasting arms; and he thrust out the enemy from before thee; and he said, Destroy.
28 A e noho maluhia wale no o ka Iseraela: O ka luawai o Iakoba ma ka aina palaoa a me ka waina; A e hoohelelei iho kona lani i ka hau:
And then dwelt Israel in safety, alone, the fountain of Jacob; in a land of corn and wine; also its heavens shall drop down dew.
29 Pomaikai oe, e ka Iseraela: Owai la kou mea like, e na kanaka, i hoolaia e Iehova, Oia ka paku nana oe e kokua mai, Oia ka pahikaua o kou nani. E malimali mai kou poe enemi imua ou, A e hele auanei oe maluna o ko lakou wahi kiekie.
Happy art thou, O Israel! who is like unto thee, O people, saved by the Lord, the Shield of thy help, and who is the Sword of thy excellency! and thy enemies shall fawn upon thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high-places.
