1 I KA makahiki mua o Belehazara, ke alii o Babulona, he moe uhane ko Daniela, a me ka lia o kona poo maluna o kona wahi moe. Alaila palapala iho la o Daniela i ua moe la, a hoike aku ia i ka nui o ia mau mea.
In the firste yeer of Balthasar, kyng of Babiloyne, Danyel siy a sweuene. Forsothe he wroot the visioun of his hed in his bed, and the dreem, and comprehendide in schort word; and he touchide schortli the sentence,
2 Olelo aku la o Daniela, i aku, Ua ike au ma ko'u hihio ana i ka po, aia hoi, ua paio ikaika ae la ua makani eha o ka lani maluua iho o ke kai nui.
and seide, Y siy in my visioun in niyt, and lo! foure wyndis of heuene fouyten in the myddis of the greet see.
3 A hoea mai la na holoholona nui eha mailoko mai o ke kai, ua like ole ko lakou ano kekahi me kekahi.
And foure grete beestis dyuerse bitwixe hem silf stieden fro the see.
4 O ka mua, ua like ia me ka liona, a he mau eheu aeto kona; ike aku la au a mokumokuia iho la kona mau eheu, a hapaiia ae la ia iluna mai ka honua ae, a hookuia ae la ma na wawae me he kanaka la, a haawiia aku he naau kanaka noua.
The firste beeste was as a lionesse, and hadde wyngis of an egle. Y bihelde til the wyngis therof weren pullid awei, and it was takun awei fro erthe, and it stood as a man on the feet, and the herte therof was youun to it.
5 Aia hoi, kekahi holoholona e, o ka lua ia, o kona ano ua like ia me ka bea, hoala ae la oia ia ia iho ma kona aoao iho, aia hoi, ekolu iwi aoao iloko o kona waha iwaena o kona mau niho; a olelu ae la lakou ia ia, E ku ae oe, e ai i ka io he nui.
And lo! another beeste, lijk a bere in parti, stood, and thre ordris weren in the mouth therof, and thre princes in the teeth therof. And thus thei seiden to it, Rise thou, ete thou ful many fleischis.
6 A mahope iho o keia, ike aku ia au, aia hoi kekahi, ua like me ka leopadi, a maluua o kona kua eha mau eheu manu; eha no hoi poo o ua holoholona la; a ua haawiia mai ia ia ke alii ana.
Aftir these thingis Y bihelde, and lo! anothir beeste as a pard, and it hadde on it silf foure wyngis of a brid, and foure heedis weren in the beeste, and power was youun to it.
7 A mahopo iho o keia, ike hou aku la au ma ka hihio ana i ka po, aia hoi kekahi holoholona e, o ka ha ia, he mea weliweli loa ia, he mea makau nui, he nui hoi kona ikaika; he mau niho hao nui kona, ua ai wale aku ia, a okaoka liilii, a hehi iho la ia i ke koena malalo o kona mau wawae; aole ia i like iki me na holoholona mamua. He umi hoi na pepeiaohao ona.
Aftir these thingis Y bihelde in the visioun of niyt, and lo! the fourthe beeste, ferdful, and wondirful, and ful strong. It hadde grete irun teeth, and it ete, and made lesse, and defoulide with hise feet othere thingis; forsothe it was vnlijk othere beestis, which Y hadde seyn bifore it, and it hadde ten hornes.
8 I ko'u noonoo ana i ua mau pepeiaohao la, aia hoi, kupu mai la iwaenakonu o lakou kekahi pepeiaohao uuku, uhukiia ae la imua ona na pepeiaohao mua ekolu: a iloko o ua pepeiaohao uuku la, aia hoi, he mau maka me he maka kanaka la, a he waha hoi e olelo ana i na mea nui.
Y bihelde the hornes, and lo! an other litil horn cam forth of the myddis of tho, and thre of the firste hornes weren drawun out fro the face therof; and lo! iyen as iyen of a man weren in this horn, and a mouth spekynge grete thingis.
9 Ike aku la au, a ua kauia iho la na nohoalii, a ua noho mai la ka Makamua o na la, ua huali loa kona kapa e like me ka hau, a o ka lauoho o kona poo ua like me ka hulu hipa maemae; o kona nohoalii, ua like ia me ka lapalapa ana o ke ahi, a o kona mau kaa e like me ke ahi e aa ana.
Y bihelde, til that trones weren set, and the elde of daies sat; his cloth was whijt as snow, and the heeris of his heed weren as cleene wolle, his trone was as flawmes of fier, hise wheelis weren fier kyndlid.
A flood of fier and rennynge faste yede out fro his face, a thousynde thousynde mynistriden to hym, and ten sithis a thousynde sithis an hundrid thousynde stoden niy hym; the dom sat, and bookis weren opened.
11 Nana aku la au, a no ka leo o na huaolelo nui a ua pepeiaohao la i olelo ai; nana au a pepehiia iho la ka holoholona, a ua lukuia kona kino, a ua hooleiia no hoi ma ke ahi e aa ana.
Y bihelde for the vois of grete wordis whiche thilke horn spak; and Y siy that the beeste was slayn, and his bodi was perischid, and was youun to be brent in fier.
12 A o na holoholona i koe, ua laweia'ku ko lakou alii ana; aka ua hooloihiia ko lakou ola ana no kekahi manawa a me ka wa.
And Y siy that the power of othere beestis was takun awei, and the tymes of lijf weren ordeyned to hem, til to tyme and tyme.
13 A ike aku la no hoi au ma ka hihio ana i ka po, aia hoi, kekahi ua like ia me ke keiki a ke kanaka e hele mai ana ma na ao o ka lani, a hele mai no ia i ka Makamua o na la, a hookokoke lakou ia ia imua ona.
Therfor Y bihelde in the visyoun of niyt, and lo! as a sone of man cam with the cloudis of heuene; and he cam fulli til to the elde of daies, and in the siyt of hym thei offriden hym.
14 A ua haawiia mai nona ke alii ana, a me ka nani, a me ke aupuni, i hookauwa nana na lahuikanaka, a me ko na aina, a me na olelo e. O kona alii ana ua mau loa ia, aole ia e pau, a o kona aupuni, aole ia e auhulihia.
And he yaf to hym power, and onour, and rewme, and alle the puplis, lynagis, and langagis schulen serue hym; his power is euerlastynge power, that schal not be takun awei, and his rewme, that schal not be corrupt.
15 Owau, o Daniela nei, ua kaumaha loa kuu naau iloko o kuu kino, a ua pihoihoi au i na lia o kuu poo.
My spirit hadde orrour, ether hidousnesse; Y, Danyel, was aferd in these thingis, and the siytis of myn heed disturbliden me.
16 Hookokoke aku la au i kekahi o na mea e ku ana malaila, a ninau aku la au ia ia i ka oiaio ana o keia mau mea a pau. Alaila hai mai la oia ia'u, a hoakaka mai ia'u i ke ano o keia mau mea.
Y neiyede to oon of the stonderis niy, and Y axide of hym the treuthe of alle these thingis. And he seide to me the interpretyng of wordis, and he tauyte me.
17 O keia mau holoholona nui eha, he mau alii lakou eha, na mea e hoea iluna mai ka honua ae.
These foure grete beestis ben foure rewmes, that schulen rise of erthe.
18 Aka, o na haipule o ka Mea kiekie loa, e lilo ia lakou ke aupuni; a ia lakou no ke aupuni ia ao aku, ia ao aku, a mau loa aku no.
Forsothe hooli men schulen take the rewme of hiyeste God, and thei schulen holde the rewme, til in to the world, and `til in to the world of worldis.
19 Alaila, makemake aku la au e ike i ke ano o ka ha o ua mau holoholona la, i ka mea i ano e i ko lakou a pau, i ka mea weliweli loa, nona na niho hao, a me na maiuu keleawe; ka mea nana i luku a okaoka loa, a hehi no hoi i ke koena malalo o kona mau wawae;
Aftir these thingis Y wolde lerne diligentli of the fourthe beeste, that was greetli vnlijk fro alle, and was ful ferdful, the teeth and nailis therof weren of irun; it eet, and made lesse, and defoulide with hise feet othere thingis.
20 A o kona mau pepeiaohao he umi maluna o kona poo, a me kekahi mea i kupu ae, ua hina hoi na mea ekolu imua ona; ua pepeiaohao la nona na maka, a me ka waha hoi e olelo ana i na mea nui, a ua oi aku ka ikaika o kona maka mamua o ko kona poe hoa.
And of ten hornes whiche it hadde in the heed, and of the tother horn, that cam forth, bifore which thre hornes fellen doun, and of that horn that hadde iyen, and a mouth spekynge grete thingis, and was grettere than othere;
21 Ike aku la au i ua pepeiaohao la e kaua aku ana ia i ka poe haipule, a lanakila ia maluna o lakou;
I bihelde, and lo! thilke horn made batel ayens hooli men, and hadde maistrie of hem,
22 A hiki mai la ka Makamua o na la, a haawiia mai i ka poe haipule o ka Mea kiekie ka hoopai ana; a ua hiki mai ka manawa e lilo ai ke aupuni i ka poe haipule.
til the elde of daies cam, and hiy God yaf doom to hooli men; and lo! tyme cam, and hooli men goten rewme.
23 Penei kana i i mai ai, O ka ha o ua mau holoholona la, o ka ha no ia o ke aupuni ma ka honua, he mea ano e ia i na aupuni a pau; a e luku loa ia i ko ka honua, a e hehi ia mea ilalo, a okaoka liilii loa.
And he seide thus, The fourthe beeste schal be the fourthe rewme in erthe, that schal be more than alle rewmes, and it schal deuoure al erthe, and it schal defoule, and make lesse that erthe.
24 A o na pepeiaohao he umi noloko mai no o keia aupuni, he mau alii ia he umi e ku mai ana; a o kekahi mea e ku mai ana no mahope o lakou; aole like ia me ka mea mua, a e luku hoi ia i na'lii ekolu.
Forsothe ten hornes schulen be ten kyngis of that rewme; and another kyng schal rise after hem, and he schal be miytiere than the formere, and he schal make low thre kyngis.
25 A e olelo ia i na mea nui ku e i ka Mea kiekie, a e hookaumaha aku ia i ka poe haipule o ka Mea kiekie loa, a e manao iho no ia e hookahuli i na manawa, a me na kanawai; a e haawiia ia mau mea iloko o kona lima, a hiki i ka manawa, a me kekahi manawa, a me ka mahele o ka manawa.
And he schal speke wordis ayens the hiy God, and he schal defoule the seyntis of the hiyeste; and he schal gesse, that he mai chaunge tymes and lawis; and thei schulen be youun in to his hondis, til to tyme, and times, and the half of tyme.
26 Alaila, e hoonohoia ka hookolokolo, a e laweia aku ke aupuni mai ona aku la, e hoopauia ua mea la, a e lukuia hoi, a hiki i ka hopeua.
And doom schal sitte, that the power be takun awei, and be al to-brokun, and perische til in to the ende.
27 Aka, o ke aupuni, a me ke alii ana, a o ka nani o ke aupuni malalo iho o na lani a puni, e haawiia mai i na kanaka haipule o ka Mea kiekie, o kona aupuni he aupuni mau loa ia; ao na'lii a pau, e hookauwa aku, a e malama aku no hoi ia ia.
Sotheli that the rewme, and power, and the greetnesse of rewme, which is vndur ech heuene, be youun to the puple of the seintis of the hiyeste, whos rewme is euerlastynge rewme, and alle kingis schulen serue, and obeie to hym.
28 Eia ka hope o keia mea; Owau, o Daniela, ua kaumaha au i kuu manao iho, ua ano e ko'u maka; aka, ua huna au i keia mea iloko o ko'u naau iho.
Hidur to is the ende of the word. Y, Danyel, was disturblid myche in my thouytis, and my face was chaungid in me; forsothe Y kepte the word in myn herte.
