< Tesalonike II 1 >

1 NA Paulo aku, a me Silevano, a me Timoieo, i ka ekalesia o ko Tesalonike, iloko o ke Akua o ko kakou Makua, a me ka Haku Iesu Kristo:
Paul, Silas, and Timothy: To the Church of the Thessalonians which is in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Ia oukou ke aloha, a me ka malu, mai ke Akua mai o ko kakou Makua, a me ka Haku Iesu Kristo.
May grace and peace be granted to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 E pono no makou e hoomaikai mau aku i ke Akua no oukou, e na hoahanau; he mea maikai no ia, no ka ulu nui ana o ko oukou paulele, a o ke aloha o oukou a pau loa, ua mahuahua ae ia i kekahi i kekahi.
Unceasing thanks are due from us to God on your behalf, brethren. They are appropriate because your faith is growing greatly, and the love of every one of you for all the others goes on increasing.
4 Oia ka makou e mahalo ai ia oukou, iloko o na ekalesia o ke Akua, no ko oukou ahonui, a me ko oukou manao kupaa i ko oukou hoomaauia mai, a me na ehaeha a pau a oukou e hoomanawanui ai.
It so increases that we ourselves make honourable mention of you among the Churches of God because of your patience and faith amid all your persecutions and amid the afflictions which you are enduring.
5 O ka hoailona akaka ia o ka hoopai pono ana mai o ke Akua, i manaoia mai oukou he poe pono no ke aupuni o ke Akua, no ko oukou mea i hoinoiai.
For these are a plain token of God's righteous judgement, which has in view your being deemed worthy of admission to God's Kingdom, for the sake of which, indeed, you are sufferers.
6 He mea pono no hoi ia i ke Akua ke hoihoi i ka poino i ka poe i hoopoino mai ia oukou;
A plain token of God's righteous judgement, I say, since it is a righteous thing for Him to requite with affliction those who are now afflicting you;
7 A ia oukou hoi ka poe i hoopoinoia, i ka hoomaha pu me makou, i ka wa e hoikeia mai ai o ka Haku o Iesu, mai ka lani mai, me kona poe anela mana,
and to requite with rest you who are suffering affliction now--rest with us at the re-appearing of the Lord Jesus from Heaven, attended by His mighty angels.
8 Me ko ahi e lapalapa ana, e hoopai ana i ka make maluna o ka poe ike ole i ke Akua, a me ka malama ole i ka euanelio o ko kakou Haku o Iesu Kristo:
He will come in flames of fire to take vengeance on those who have no knowledge of God, and do not obey the Good News as to Jesus, our Lord.
9 O lakou ke hoopaiia'na i ka make mau loa, mai ke alo mai o ka Haku a me kona mana nani; (aiōnios g166)
They will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, being banished from the presence of the Lord and from His glorious majesty, (aiōnios g166)
when He comes on that day to be glorified in His people and to be wondered at among all who have believed, including you--because you believed the testimony which we brought for your acceptance.
11 Nolaila hoi makou i pule mau aku ai no oukou, i manao mai ai ko kakou Akua ia oukou he poe pono e hoopomaikaiia, a e hooko mai oia i ke aloha a pau o kona maikai, a me ka hana o ka manaoio me ka mana;
It is with this view also that we continually pray to our God for you, asking that He will count you worthy of His call, and by His mighty power fully gratify your every desire for what is truly good and make your work of faith complete;
12 I hoonaniia'ku ka inoa o ko kakou Haku o Iesu Kristo, iloko o oukou, a o oukou hoi iloko ona, mamuli o ke aloha ana mai o ko kakou Akua, a me ka Haku Iesu Kristo.
in order that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and that you may be glorified in Him--so wonderful is the grace of our God and of the Lord Jesus Christ!
