1 MAHOPE iho o keia mea, ninau aku la o Davida ia Iehova, i aku la, E pii aku anei au i kekahi kulanakauhale o ka Iuda? I mai la o Iehova ia ia, E pii oe. I aku la o Davida, Ai la ihea kahi e pii aku ai au? I mai la kela, I Heberona.
Therfor aftir these thingis Dauid counseilide the Lord, and seide, Whether Y schal stie in to oon of the citees of Juda? And the Lord seide to hym, Stie thou. And Dauid seide to the Lord, Whidur schal Y stie? And the Lord answeride to hym, In to Ebron.
2 Hele aku la o Davida ilaila, a me kana mau wahine elua, o Ahinoama no Iezereela, a me Abigaila, ka wahine a Nabala no Karemela.
Therfor Dauid stiede, and hise twei wyues, Achynoem of Jezrael, and Abigail, the wijf of Nabal of Carmele.
3 Lawe pu aku la o Davida i na kanaka ona, ka poe i noho pu me ia, o kela kanaka keia kanaka me kona ohua: a noho iho la lakou ma na kulanakauhale o Heberona.
But also Dauid ledde the men that weren with hym, ech man with his hows; and thei dwelliden in the townes of Ebron.
4 Hele mai la na kanaka o ka Iuda, a malaila lakou i poni ai ia ia i alii maluna o ka ohana a Iuda. Hai aku la hoi lakou ia Davida, i aku la, O na kanaka o Iabesa-gileada, ka poe nana i kanu ia Saula.
And the men of Juda camen, and anoyntiden there Dauid, that he schulde regne on the hows of Juda. And it was teld to Dauid, that men of Jabes of Galaad hadden biried Saul.
5 Hoouna aku la o Davida i na elele i kanaka o Iabesa-gileada, i aku la ia lakou, E alohaia mai oukou e Iehova, no ka mea, ua hana aku oukou i keia lokomaikai i ko oukou haku ia Saula, a ua kanu iho ia ia.
Therfor Dauid sente messangeris to the men of Jabes of Galaad, and seide to hem, Blessid be ye of the Lord, that diden this mercy with your lord Saul, and birieden hym.
6 Ano hoi, e hana mai o Iehova i ka lokomaikai a me ka oiaio ia oukou; owau no hoi e uku aku ia oukou i keia lokomaikai, no ka oukou hana ana i keia mea.
And now sotheli the Lord schal yelde to you merci and treuthe, but also Y schal yelde thankyng, for ye diden this word.
7 Nolaila hoi, e hooikaikaia ko oukou mau lima; i nui ke aho o oukou: no ka mea, ua make ko oukou haku o Saula, a ua poni mai ka ohana a Iuda ia'u i alii maluna o lakou.
Youre hondis be coumfortid, and be ye sones of strengthe; for thouy youre lord Saul is deed, netheles the hows of Juda anoyntide me kyng to `hym silf.
8 Aka, o Abenera ke keiki a Nera, ke alii koa no ko Saula poe kaua, lalau aku la oia ia Iseboseta ke keikikane a Saula, a lawe aku la ia ia i Mahanaima.
Forsothe Abner, the sone of Ner, prince of the oost of Saul, took Isbosech, the sone of Saul, and ledde hym aboute bi the castels,
9 A hoalii aku la ia ia maluna o ka Gileada, a maluna o ka Asera, maluna hoi o ko Iezereela, a maluna o ka Eperaima, a maluna o ka Beniamina, a maluna hoi o ka Iseraela a pau.
and made him kyng on Galaad, and on Gethsury, and on Jezrael, and on Effraym, and on Beniamyn, and on al Israel.
10 He kanaha na makahiki o Iseboseta ke keiki a Saula, i kona wa i noho ai i alii, a elua mau makahiki oia i nohoalii ai. Aka, hahai aku la ka ohana a Iuda mamuli o Davida.
Isbosech, the sone of Saul, was of fourti yeer, whanne he began to regne on Israel; and he regnede twei yeer. Sotheli the hous aloone of Juda suede Dauid.
11 A o ka manawa i nohoalii ai o Davida ma Heberona maluna o ka ohana a Iuda, ehiku ia mau makahiki a me na malama keu eono.
And the noumbre of daies, bi whiche Dauid dwellide regnynge in Ebron on the hows of Juda, was of seuene yeer and sixe monethis.
12 Haele mai la o Abenera ke keiki a Nera me na kanaka o Iseboseta ke keiki a Saula, mai Mahanaima mai a Gibeona.
And Abner, the sone of Ner, yede out, and the children of Isbosech, sone of Saul, fro the castels in Gabaon.
13 Hele aku la hoi o Ioaba ke keiki a Zeruia, me na kanaka o Davida, a halawai pu ae la lakou ma ka punawai o Gibeona; a noho iho la lakou, o kekahi poe ma keia aoao o ka punawai, a o kela poe ma kela aoao o ka punawai.
Forsothe Joab, the sone of Saruye, and the children of Dauid yeden out, and camen to hem bisidis the cisterne in Gabaon. And whanne thei hadden come togidere in to o place euene ayens, these saten on o part of the cisterne, and thei on the tother.
14 Olelo mai la o Abenera ia Ioaba, E ku ae na kanaka opionio, a e paani imua o kakou. I aku la o Ioaba, E ku ae lakou.
And Abner seide to Joab, `The children rise, and plei befor us. And Joab answeride, Rise thei.
15 Alaila, ku ae la a hele aku la na mea he umikumamalua o ka Beniamina no Iseboseta ke keiki a Saula, a me na kanaka o Davida he umikumamalua.
Therfor thei risiden, and passiden twelue in noumbre of Beniamyn, of the part of Isbosech, sone of Saul; and twelue of the children of Dauid.
16 Lalau aku la kela mea keia mea i kona hoapaio ma ke poo, a hou aku la i kona pahikaua maloko o ka aoao o kona hoapaio, a haule pu iho la lakou a pau: nolaila, ua kapaia kela wahi, Heleka-hazurima; aia no i Gibeona.
And ech man, whanne `the heed of his felowe was takun, fastnede the swerde in to the side of `the contrarye; and thei felden doun togidere. And the name of that place was clepid The Feeld of stronge men in Gabaon.

Forsothe thre sones of Saruye weren there, Joab, and Abisai, and Asahel; forsothe Asahel was a `rennere moost swift, as oon of the capretis that dwellen in woodis.
19 Alualu aku la o Asahela ia Abenera: a i ka hele ana, aole ia i kapae ma ka akau, aole hoi ma ka hema, mahope o Abenera.
Forsothe Asahel pursuede Abner, and bowide not, nether to the riyt side nether to the left side, ceessynge to pursue Abner.
20 Nana ae la o Abenera mahope ona, i ae la, O Asahela anei oe? I mai la kela, Owau no.
Therfor Abner bihelde bihynde his bac, and seide, Whether thou art Asahel?
21 I aku la o Abenera ia ia, E haliu ae oe ma kou lima akau paha, ma kou hema paha, e lalau aku i kekahi kanaka opiopio, a e lawe nou i kona kahiko ana. Aole nae i manao o Asahela e haliu ae mai ke alualu ana ia ia.
Which answeride, Y am. And Abner seide to hym, Go to the riytside, ether to the lefte side; and take oon of the yonge men, and take to thee hise spuylis. Sotheli Asahel nolde ceesse, that ne he pursuede hym.
22 Olelo hou aku la o Abenera ia Asahela, E haliu ae oe mai o'u aku nei; no ke aha la au e pepehi iho ai ia oe a ka honua? Pehea la hoi e nana pono aku ai kuu maka ia Ioaba kou kaikuaana?
And eft Abner spak to Asahel, Go thou awei; nyle thou pursue me, lest Y be compellid to peerse thee in to erthe, and Y schal not mowe reise my face to Joab, thi brother.
23 Aka, hoole aku la ia, aole e haliu ae: nolaila, hou aku la o Abenera i ke kumu o ka ihe malalo iho o ka lima o kona iwi aoao, a puka aku la ka ihe ma kona kua: hina iho la ia ilaila, a make iho la ma ia wahi: a o na mea a pau i hiki aku ma kahi i hina iho ai o Asahela a make, ku malie iho la lakou.
And Asahel dispiside to here, and nolde bowe awey. Therfor Abner smoot him `with the spere turned awei in the schar, and roof thorouy, and he was deed in the same place; and alle men that passiden bi the place, in which place Asahel felde doun, and was deed, stoden stille.

Forsothe while Joab and Abisai pursueden Abner fleynge, the sunne yede doun; and thei camen til to the litil hil of the water cundiyt, which is euene ayens the valey, and the weie of deseert in Gabaon.
25 Hoakoakoa pu ae la na mamo a Beniamina mamuli o Abenera, a lilo ae la i hookahi poe, a ku iho la maluna pono o ka puu.
And the sones of Beniamyn weren gaderid to Abner, and thei weren gaderid togidere in to o cumpeny, and stoden in the hiynesse of oon heep of erthe.
26 Alaila, kahea mai la o Abenera ia Ioaba, i mai la, E ai mau no anei ka pahikaua? Aole anei oe e ike, he mea awaawa no ia ma ka hopena? Pehea la ka loihi, a kena aku oe i na kanaka e uhoi aku mai ke alualu ana ae i ko lakou poe hoahanau?
And Abner criede to Joab, and seide, Whether thi swerd schal be feers `til to sleyng? Whether thou knowist not, that dispeir is perelouse? Hou longe seist thou not to the puple, that it ceesse to pursue hise britheren?
27 I aku la o Ioaba, Ma ko ke Akua ola ana, ina aole oe i olelo mai, ina ua hoi aku kela kanaka keia kanaka i kakahiaka nei mai ke alualu ana aku i kona hoahanau.
And Joab seyde, The Lord lyueth, for if thou haddist spoke eerli, the puple pursuynge his brother hadde go awey.
28 Alaila puhi aku la o Ioaba i ka pu, a ku malie iho la na kanaka a pau, aole i alualu hou aku ia lakou, aole hoi i kaua hou aku lakou.
And Joab sownede with a clarioun, and al the oost stood; and thei pursueden no ferthere Israel, nether bigunnen batel.
29 Haele aku la o Abenera me na kanaka ona ma kahi papu, a hele aku la ma kela aoao o Ioredane, a haele ae la ma Biterona a pau, a hiki aku i Mahanaima.
Forsothe Abner and hise men yeden by the feeldi places of Moab in al that nyyt, and passiden Jordan; and whanne al Bethoron was compassid, thei camen to the castels.
30 Hoi hou aku la o Ioaba mai ke alualu ana ia Abenera: a hoakoakoa ae la i na kanaka a pau, ua nalo iho na kanaka o Davida he umikumamaiwa a me Asahela.
Sotheli whanne Abner was left, Joab turnede ayen, and gaderide togidere al the puple; and ten men and nyne, outakun Asahel, failiden of the children of Dauid.
31 Aka, ua pepehi aku na kanaka o Davida i ka Beniamina a me na kanaka o Abenera, a make iho la na kanaka ekolu haneri a me kanaono.
Forsothe the seruauntis of Dauid smytiden of Beniamyn, and of the men that weren with Abner, thre hundrid men and sixti, whiche also weren deed.
32 Lawe ae la lakou ia Asahela, a kanu iho la ia ia iloko o ka hale kupapau o kona makuakane i Betelehema. Haele aku la o Ioaba me na kanaka ona ia po a pau, a hiki aku la i Heberona i ka wanaao.
And thei token Asahel, and birieden hym in the sepulcre of his fadir in Bethleem. And Joab, and the men that weren with hym, yeden in al that nyyt, and in thilke morewtid thei camen in to Ebron.
