II Oihanaalii 26
1 A LAILA, lalau na kanaka a pau o Iuda, ia Uzia, he umikumamaono makahiki ona, a hoalii iho la ia ia ma ka hakahaka o kona makuakane o Amazia.
And all the people of Judah take Uzziah (and he [is] a son of sixteen years), and cause him to reign instead of his father Amaziah.
2 Ua kukulu oia ia Elota, a hui hou ia me Iuda, a mahope iho, hiamoe iho la ke alii me kona mau makua.
He hath built Eloth, and restoreth it to Judah after the king's lying with his fathers.
3 He umikumamaono makahiki ko Uzia i kona wa i alii ai, a noho alii iho la ia i na makahiki ke kanalimakumamalua ma Ierusalema; a o ka inoa o kona makuwahine o Iekolia no Ierusalema.
A son of sixteen years [is] Uzziah in his reigning, and fifty and two years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Jecholiah of Jerusalem.
4 Ua hana oia i ka pono imua o Iehova, e like me ka mea a kona makuakane a Amazia i hana'i.
And he doth that which is right in the eyes of Jehovah, according to all that Amaziah his father did,
5 A ua imi oia i ke Akua i na la o Zekaria, ka mea ike i na akaku no ke Akua mai; a i kona wa i imi at ia Iehova, ua hoomaikai mai ke Akua ia ia.
and he is as one seeking God in the days of Zechariah who hath understanding in visions of God: and in the days of his seeking Jehovah, God hath caused him to prosper.
6 A hele aku la ia a kaua aku i ko Pilisetia, a wawahi ia i ka pa o Gata, a me ka pa o Iabena, a me ka pa o Asedoda, a kukulu iho la ia i na kulanakauhale ma Asedoda, a ma Pilisetia.
And he goeth forth, and fighteth with the Philistines, and breaketh down the wall of Gath, and the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod, and buildeth cities about Ashdod, and among the Philistines.

And God helpeth him against the Philistines, and against the Arabians who are dwelling in Gur-Baal and the Mehunim.
8 A haawi mai ka Amona i na makana na Uzia, a kaulana loa kona inoa a hiki i kahi e komo ai iloko o Aigupita; no ka mea, ua hooikaika nui loa iho la no ia.
And the Ammonites give a present to Uzziah, and his name goeth unto the entering in of Egypt, for he strengthened himself greatly.
9 A ua kukulu o Uzia i mau hale kiai ma Ierusalema ma ka puka kihi, a ma ka puka awawa, a ma ka popoiwi o ka pa, hana oia ia mau mea a pau loa.
And Uzziah buildeth towers in Jerusalem, by the gate of the corner, and by the gate of the valley, and by the angle, and strengtheneth them;
10 A kukulu no hoi ia i na hale kiai ma ka waonahele, a eli iho la i na punawai he nui loa; no ka mea, nui kana poe holoholona ma ke awawa, a me ka papu; he poe mahiai no hoi kekahi, a he poe malama i ka laau waina ma na mauna, a ma Karemela; no ka mea, ua makemake oia i ka aina.
and he buildeth towers in the wilderness, and diggeth many wells, for he had much cattle, both in the low country and in the plain, husbandmen and vine-dressers in the mountains, and in Carmel; for he was a lover of the ground.

And Uzziah hath a force, making war, going forth to the host, by troops, in the number of their reckoning by the hand of Jeiel the scribe and Masseiah the officer, by the hand of Hananiah [one] of the heads of the king.
12 O ka helu ana o ka poe koikoi a pau o na makua, ka poe koa ikaika, elua tausani a me na haneri eono.
The whole number of heads of the fathers of the mighty ones of valour [is] two thousand and six hundred;
13 Malalo iho o lakou he poe koa ekolu haneri tausani. a ehiku tausani elima haneri, he poe kaua ikaika loa e kokua i ke alii i ke ku e ana i ka enemi.
and by their hand [is] the force of the host, three hundred thousand, and seven thousand, and five hundred warriors, with mighty power to give help to the king against the enemy.
14 A hoomakaukau o Uzia no lakou, no ka poe koa a pau, i na palekaua, a me na ihe, a me na aahuapoo, a me na pulikikaua, a me na kakaka, a me na maa e maa aku ai i na pohaku.
And Uzziah prepareth for them, for all the host, shields, and spears, and helmets, and coats of mail, and bows, even to stones of the slings.
15 Hana iho la oia ma Ierusalema i na mea kaua, i na mea a ka poe noonoo i noonoo ai, i mau mea maluna o na halekiai, a ma na kihi, e hoolele i na pua, a me na pohaku nui. A ua kaulana kona inoa ma kahi loihi aku, no ka mea, ua kokua nui ia mai no ia, a ikaika loa ia.
And he maketh in Jerusalem inventions — a device of an inventor — to be on the towers, and on the corners, to shoot with arrows and with great stones, and his name goeth out unto a distance, for he hath been wonderfully helped till that he hath been strong.
16 A ikaika ia, alaila kiekie kona naau, a malaila ia i make ai. Hana hewa aku oia ia Iehova, i kona Akua, a komo ia iloko o ka luakini o Iehova e kuni i mea ala maluna o ke kuahu kuni mea ala.
And at his being strong his heart hath been high unto destruction, and he trespasseth against Jehovah his God, and goeth in unto the temple of Jehovah to make perfume upon the altar of perfume.
17 Alaila, komo o Azaria, ke kahuna mahope ona, a o na kahuna o Iehova kekahi pu me ia elua kanaha, he poe ikaika:
And Azariah the priest goeth in after him, and with him priests of Jehovah eighty, sons of valour,
18 A ku e lakou ia Uzia i ke alii, olelo aku la lakou ia ia, Aole ia oe, e Uzia, ke kuni i mea ala ia Iehova, na ka poe kahuna no, na ka poe mamo a Aarona, ka poe i hoolaaia e kuni i ka mea ala; e hele oe iwaho o ka luakini, no ka mea, ua hana hewa oe; aole e loaa ia oe ka nani ma keia mea mai o Iehova ke Akua mai.
and they stand up against Uzziah the king, and say to him, 'Not for thee, O Uzziah, to make perfume to Jehovah, but for priests, sons of Aaron, who are sanctified to make perfume; go forth from the sanctuary, for thou hast trespassed, and [it is] not to thee for honour from Jehovah God.'
19 A huhu o Uzia; aia hoi ka ipuahi kuni mea ala ma kona lima; a i kona huhu ana i ka poe kahuna, poha mai ka mai lepera ma kona lae imua o na kahuna iloko o ka hale o Iehova ma ka aoao o ke kuahu kuni mea ala.
And Uzziah is wroth, and in his hand [is] a censer to make perfume, and in his being wroth with the priests — the leprosy hath risen in his forehead, before the priests, in the house of Jehovah, from beside the altar of perfume.
20 A nana o Azaria ke kahuna nui, a me na kahuna a pau ia ia, aia hoi, he mai lepera ma kona lae, a kipaku lakou ia ia mailaila aku; wikiwiki no hoi ia e puka iwaho, no ka mea, ua hahau mai o Iehova ia ia.
And Azariah the head priest looketh unto him, and all the priests, and lo, he [is] leprous in his forehead, and they hasten him thence, and also he himself hath hastened to go out, for Jehovah hath plagued him.
21 A he kanaka mai lepera o Uzia, ke alii a hiki i ka la o kona make ana, a noho kaawale iho la ia iloko o ka hale mai lepera, no ka mea, ua okiia oia mai ka hale o Iehova aku; a o Iotama, kana keiki, oia ka mea maluna o ka hale o ke alii e hookolokolo ana i na kanaka o ka aina.
And Uzziah the king is a leper unto the day of his death, and inhabiteth a separate house — a leper, for he hath been cut off from the house of Jehovah, and Jotham his son [is] over the house of the king, judging the people of the land.
22 A o ke koena o na hana a Uzia, ka mua a me ka hope, ua kakauia ia mau mea e Isaia, ke keiki a Amosa, ke kaula.
And the rest of the matters of Uzziah, the first and the last, hath Isaiah son of Amoz the prophet written;

and Uzziah lieth with his fathers, and they bury him with his fathers, in the field of the burying-place that the kings have, for they said, 'He [is] a leper;' and reign doth Jotham his son in his stead.
