And he died Samuel and they gathered together all Israel and they mourned for him and they buried him at house his in Ramah and he arose David and he went down to [the] wilderness of Paran.
2 A o kekahi kauaka ma Maona, a ma Karemela kona waiwai; a he kanaka waiwai loa ia, akolu ana tausani hipa, hookahi tausani kao; a ako iho la ia i kana poe hipa ma Karemela.
And a man [was] in Maon and business his [was] in Carmel and the man [was] great very and [belonged] to him sheep three thousand and one thousand goats and it was when sheared sheep his in Carmel.
3 O Nabala ka inoa o ua kanaka la, a o Abigaila ka inoa o kana wahine: a he wahine akamai i ka noonoo, a he maikai kona helehelena: aka, o ke kanaka, he huhu ia, a he hewa kana hana ana: no ko Kaleba ohana ia.
And [the] name of the man [was] Nabal and [the] name of wife his [was] Abigail and the woman [was] good of insight and beautiful of appearance and the man [was] hard and evil of deeds and he ([was] a Calebite. *Q(K)*)
4 A lohe ae la o Davida ma ka waonahele e ako aua o Nabala i kana poe hipa.
And he heard David in the wilderness that [was] shearing Nabal sheep his.
5 Hoouna aku la o Davida i na kanaka ui he umi, a, i aku la o Davida i na kanaka ui, E pii ae oukou ma Karemela, a hele io Nabala la, a e aloha aku ia ia ma kuu inoa.
And he sent David ten young men and he said David to the young men go up Carmel towards and you will go to Nabal and you will ask of him in name my to welfare.
6 Penei oukou e olelo aku ai ia ia e ola ana, Aloha oe, aloha ko ka hale, a aloha hoi kou mea a pau loa.
And you will say thus to the living [one] and you peace and house your peace and all that [belongs] to you peace.
7 A ua lohe iho nei au, aia no ia oe na mea ako huluhipa: o kou poe kahuhipa me makou, aole makou i hana ino aku ia lakou, aole i lilo kekahi o ko lakou mea i ka manawa a pau a lakou i noho ai ma Karemela.
And now I have heard that shearers [belong] to you now the shepherds who [belong] to you they have been with us not we have humiliated them and not it has been missing to them anything all [the] days of being they in Carmel.
8 E ninau aku oe i kou poe kanaka ui, a e hai mai lakou ia oe. No ia mea, e loaa auanei i na kanaka ui ke aloha imua o kou maka: no ka mea, ua hiki mai makou i ka la maikai: ke noi aku nei au ia oe, o ka mea i loaa i kou lima e haawi na kau poe kauwa, a na kau keiki, na Davida.
Ask own young men your so they may tell to you and let them find the young men favor in view your for on a day good we have come give! please [that] which it will find hand your to servants your and to son your to David.
9 A hiki aku la ka poe kanaka ui o Davida, hai aku la lakou ia Nabala ia mau olelo a pau ma ka inoa o Davida, a hooki iho la.
And they went [the] young men of David and they spoke to Nabal according to all the words these in [the] name of David and they rested.
10 Olelo mai la o Nabala i na kauwa a Davida, i mai la, Owai la o Davida, owai hoi ke keiki a Iese? I neia manawa, ua nui na kauwa, o kela kanaka keia kanaka i mahuka mai ke alo aku o kona haku.
And he answered Nabal [the] servants of David and he said who? [is] David and who? [is] [the] son of Jesse this day they are many servants who break away each one from before master his.
11 E lawe anei au i kuu berena, a me ko'u wai, a me ka'u holoholona a'u i kalua'i na ka poe ako huluhipa, a e haawi aku na na kanaka a'u i ike ole ai i ko lakou wahi e hele mai nei?
And will I take bread my and water my and slaughter my which I have slaughtered for shearers my and will I give [them] to men who not I know where? from this [are] they.
12 A huli ae la na kanaka ui o Davida ma ko lakou ala, a hoi aku la a hiki, a hai aku la lakou ia ia ia mau olelo a pau.
And they turned round [the] young men of David to way their and they returned and they came and they told to him according to all the words these.
13 I aku la o Davida i kona poe kanaka, E hawele oukou o kela kanaka keia kanaka i kana pahikaua. A hawele iho la kela kanaka keia kanaka i kana pahikaua; a hawele iho hoi o Davida i kana pahikaua; aha haneri kanaka paha i hahai mahope o Davida; alua haneri i noho ma na ukana.
And he said David to men his gird on - everyone sword his and they girded on everyone sword his and he girded on also David sword his and they went up - after David about four hundred man and two hundred they remained with the baggage.
14 A hai aku kekahi o ka poe kanaka ui ia Abigaila, ka wahine a Nabala, i aku la, Aia hoi, ua hoouna mai o Davida i na elele mai ka waonahele mai e aloha mai i ko makou haku, a lele ino aku oia ia lakou.
And to Abigail [the] wife of Nabal he told a young man one from the young men saying there! he sent David messengers - from the wilderness to bless master our and he shouted at them.
15 Aka, ua hana pono mai ia poe kanaka ia makou, aole i hana eha mai ia makou, aole i lilo kekahi mea o makou i na la a pau a makou i noho pu ai me lakou ma ke kula.
And the men [were] good to us very and not we were humiliated and not we missed anything all [the] days [which] we went about with them when were we in the field.
16 He pa pohaku lakou no makou ma ka po a me ke ao, i na la a pau a makou i noho pu ai me lakou, e malama ana i ka poe hipa.
A wall they were with us both night as well as by day all [the] days of being we with them shepherding the flock.
17 Ano hoi e noonoo oe a ike i kau mea e hana aku ai; no ka mea, ua manao hewa ia mai no to makou haku, a no kona ohua a pau; no ka mea, he keiki ia na Beliala, aole e pono ke olelo aku ia ia.
And now know and see what? will you do for it has been determined evil against master our and on all household his and he [is] a son of worthlessness from speaking to him.
18 Alaila lalelale ae la o Abigaila, a lawe aku la i elua haneri pai berena, a i elua hue waina, a me na hipa elima i hoomakaukauia, a me na ipu hua palaoa elima i pulehuia, a i hookahi haneri paihuawaina maloo, a i elua haneri pai huafiku maloo, a kau ae la maluna o na hoki.
And she made haste (Abigail *Q(k)*) and she took two hundred bread[s] and two jars of wine and five sheep (prepared *Q(k)*) and five seahs of roasted grain and a hundred bunches of raisins and two hundred fig cakes and she put [them] on the donkeys.
19 I aku la ia i kana poe kauwa, E hele e oukou mamua o'u, aia hoi, e hahai ana au mahope o oukou. Aole ia i hai aku ia Nabala kana kane.
And she said to servants her pass on before me here I after you [will be] coming and to husband her Nabal not she told.
20 A i kona holo ana maluna o ka hoki a hiki ma kahi malu o ka mauna, aia hoi o Davida a me kona poe kanaka e iho mai ana e halawai me ia, a halawai aku la ia me lakou.
And it was she - [was] riding on the donkey and [was] going down in [the] cover of the mountain and there! David and men his [were] going down to meet her and she met them.
21 Ua olelo iho la o Davida, He oiaio, ua malama make hewa au i na mea a pau a keia kanaka ma ka waonahele, aole i lilo kekahi o kana mau mea a pau; a ua hoihoi mai ia i ka hewa ia'u no ka pono.
And David he had said surely to deception I have guarded all that [belongs] to this [man] in the wilderness and not it has been missing any of all that [belongs] to him anything and he has returned to me evil in place of good.
22 Pela hoi, a e oi aku hoi ka ke Akua e hana aku ai i ka poe enemi o Davida, ke waiho au a hiki i ka malamalama o ke ao i kekahi o kona poe kane.
Thus may he do God to [the] enemies David and thus may he add if I will leave any of all that [belongs] to him until the morning [one who] urinates on a wall.
23 A ike aku la o Abigaila ia Davida, lele koke iho la ia mai luna mai o ka hold, a haule ilalo ke alo imua o Davida, a kulou iho la ma ka honua.
And she saw Abigail David and she made haste and she came down from on the donkey and she fell to [the] face of David on face her and she bowed down [the] ground.
And she fell at feet his and she said [be] on me I O lord my the iniquity and let her speak please maidservant your in ears your and hear [the] words of maidservant your.
25 Ke noi aku nei au ia oe, mai manao nui kuu haku i keia kanaka hewa, ia Nabala: no ka mea, e like me ke ano o kona inoa, pela hoi ia, o Nabala kona inoa, a me ia no ka lapuwale: aka, aole i ike kau kauwawahine i ka poe kanaka ui au i hoouna mai ai.
May not please he set lord my - heart his to [the] man of worthlessness this on Nabal for like name his [is] so he [is] Nabal name his and disgraceful folly [is] with him and I maidservant your not I saw [the] young men of lord my whom you sent.
26 Ano hoi, e kuu haku, ma ke ola o Iehova, a ma ke ola o kou uhane, no ke keakea ana o Iehova i kou hele mai e hookahe i ke koko, a me ka hoopai ana nou me kou lima iho, ano hoi, e lilo ana kou poe enemi, a me ka poe imi hewa i kuu haku, e like me Nabala.
And now O lord my [by] [the] life of Yahweh and [by] [the] life of self your that he has restrained you Yahweh from coming in blood and [from] delivering hand your you and now may they be like Nabal enemies your and those [who] seek against lord my evil.
27 Ano hoi, o keia manawalea a kau kauwawahine i lawe mai nei na kuu haku, e haawiia'ku ia na ka poe kanaka ui e hele ana ma ka wawae o kuu haku.
And now the blessing this which he has brought maidservant your to lord my and it will be given to the young men who go about at [the] feet of lord my.
28 Ke noi aku nei au ia oe, e kala ae oe i ka hala o kau kauwawahine: no ka mea, e hana io mai no o Iehova i hale mau no kuu haku; no ke kaua ana a kuu haku i na kaua o Iehova, aole i loaa ka hewa iloko ou i kou mau la.
Forgive please to [the] transgression of maidservant your for certainly he will make Yahweh for lord my a house enduring for [the] battles of Yahweh lord my [is] fighting and evil not it will be found in you from days your.
29 Aka, ua ku mai kekahi kanaka e hahai ia oe, a e imi i kou ola: aka, e nakii pu ia auanei ke ola o kuu haku iloko o ka pua o ka poe ola me Iehova kou Akua; a o ke ola o kou poe enemi, nana no lakou e maa aku mai loko ae o ka maa.
And he has arisen a man to pursue you and to seek life your and it will be [the] life of lord my bound up - in [the] bundle of the living with Yahweh God your and [the] life of enemies your he will sling out it in [the] midst of [the] hollow of sling.
30 A i ka manawa e hana mai ai o Iehova no kuu haku, e like me ka pono a pau ana i olelo mai ai nou, a e hoolilo ia oe i alii no ka Iseraela;
And it will be that he will do Yahweh to lord my according to all that he has spoken the good on you and he will appoint you to ruler over Israel.
31 Alaila aole e lilo keia i mea kaumaha nou, a me ka hihia no ka naau o kuu haku, o kou hookahe ole ana i ke koko hala ole, a o ka hoopai ole ana o kuu haku nona: a i hana pono mai o Iehova i kuu haku, alaila e hoomanao oe i kau kauwawahine.
And not it will become this - for you staggering and stumbling of heart for lord my and pouring out of blood without cause and to deliver lord my himself and he will do good Yahweh to lord my and you will remember maidservant your.
32 Olelo mai la o Davida ia Abigaila, E hoomaikaiia ke Akua o ka Iseraela, i kona hoouna ana mai ia oe i keia la e halawai me au:
And he said David to Abigail [be] blessed Yahweh [the] God of Israel who he has sent you the day this to meet me.
33 E hoomaikaiia kou naauao, a e hoomaikaiia oe i kou keakea ana mai ia'u i ka hele ana mai e hookahe i ke koko, a me ka hoopai ana no'u me kuu lima iho.
And [be] blessed discernment your and [be] blessed you who you have restrained me the day this from coming in blood and [from] delivering hand my me.
34 He oiaio, ma ke ola o Iehova ke Akua o ka Iseraela, nana i keakea mai ia'u e hana hewa aku ia oe, ina paha aole oe i hele koke mai e halawai me au, ina aole koe ia Nabala a hiki i ka malamalama o ke ao kekahi o kona poe kane.
And but [by] [the] life of Yahweh [the] God of Israel who he has restrained me from doing harm to you if - if not you had made haste (and you had come *Q(k)*) to meet me that except he has been left to Nabal until [the] light of the morning [one who] urinates on a wall.
35 A lawe aku la o Davida mai kona lima aku i ka mea ana i lawe mai ai nana, a i aku la ia ia ia, E pii pomaikai oe ma kou hale; aia hoi, ua hoolohe aku au i kou leo, a ua maliu aku au ia oe.
And he took David from hand her [that] which she had brought to him and to her he said go up to peace to house your see I have listened to voice your and I have lifted up face your.
36 A hoi aku la o Abigaila ia Nabala; aia hoi, he ahaaina kana ma kona hale e like me ka ahaaina alii; a ua olioli ka naau o Nabala iloko ona, no ka mea, ua ona loa: no ia mea, aole ia i hai iki aku ia ia, a hiki i ka malamalama o ke ao.
And she went Abigail - to Nabal and there! [belonged] to him a feast in house his like [the] feast of king and [the] heart of Nabal it was good on him and he [was] drunk up to muchness and not she told to him anything small and great until [the] light of the morning.
37 A ao ae la, i ka wa i hala aku ka waina mawaho o Nabala, a hai aku la kana wahine ia ia i keia mau mea, make iho la kona naau iloko ona, a like ia me ka pohaku.
And it was in the morning when had gone out the wine from Nabal and she told to him wife his the things these and it died heart his in inward part[s] his and he he became stone.
38 A he anahulu paha la ma ia hope mai, pepehi mai o Iehova ia Nabala, a make iho la ia.
And it was about [the] ten the days and he struck Yahweh Nabal and he died.
39 A lohe ae la o Davida, ua make o Nabala, i iho la ia, E hoomaikaiia o Iehova, nana i hoopai aku maluna o Nabala i kuu hoinoia mai, a nana i keakea mai i kana kauwa i ole e hana ino; a ua hoihoi aku o Iehova i ka hewa o Nabala maluna o kona poo. A hoouna aku la o Davida, a kamailio me Abigaila e lawe ia ia i wahine nana.
And he heard David that he had died Nabal and he said [be] blessed Yahweh who he has conducted [the] case of disgrace my from [the] hand of Nabal and servant his he has restrained from evil and [the] evil of Nabal he has turned back Yahweh on own head his and he sent David and he spoke with Abigail to take her for himself to a wife.
40 A hiki aku la na kauwa a Davida io Abigaila la ma Karemela, olelo aku la lakou ia ia, i aku la, Ua hoouna mai o Davida ia makou iou la e lawe ia oe i wahine nana.
And they went [the] servants of David to Abigail Carmel towards and they spoke to her saying David he has sent us to you to take you for himself to a wife.
41 Ku ae la ia, a kulou iho la me kona maka ma ka honua, i aku la, Aia hoi, e hooliloia kau kauwawahine i kauwa e holoi ai i na wawae o na kauwa a kuu haku.
And she arose and she bowed down face [the] ground towards and she said here! maidservant your to a maid to wash [the] feet of [the] servants of lord my.
42 A ku koke ae la o Abigaila, a hooholo maluna o ka hoki me kona mau wahine elima i hele mahope ona; a hahai aku la ia mahope o na elele a Davida, a lilo ia i wahine nana.
And she made haste and she arose Abigail and she rode on the donkey and five maids her who walked to foot her and she went after [the] messengers of David and she became of him a wife.
43 Lawe hoi o Davida ia Ahinoama no Iezereela, a lilo laua elua i mau wahine nana.
And Ahinoam he had taken David from Jezreel and they became also both of them of him wives.
44 Ua haawi aku o Saula ia Mikala kana kaikamahine, ka wahine a Davida, i wahine na Paleti ke keiki a Laisa no Galima.
And Saul he had given Michal daughter his [the] wife of David to Palti [the] son of Laish who [was] from Gallim.
