1 A hannun Ubangiji zuciyar sarki kamar ruwan rafi ne wanda yake bi da shi duk inda ya so.
As a rush of water, so is the king's heart in God's hand: he turns it wherever he may desire to point out.
2 Mutum zai yi tunani hanyoyinsa daidai suke, amma Ubangiji yakan auna zuciya.
Every man seems to himself righteous; but the Lord directs the hearts.
3 Yin abin da yake daidai da kuma nagari Ubangiji ya fi yarda da shi fiye da hadaya.
To do justly and to speak truth, are more pleasing to God than the blood of sacrifices.
4 Girmankai da fariya, su ne fitilar mugaye, wannan kuwa zunubi ne!
A high-minded man is stout-hearted in [his] pride; and the lamp of the wicked is sin.
5 Shirye-shiryen mai aiki tuƙuru kan kai ga riba in kuwa ka cika gaggawa zai kai ga talauci.
6 Dukiyar da aka samu ta wurin harshe mai yin ƙarya tarin tururi ne da kuma mugun tarko.
He that gathers treasures with a lying tongue pursues vanity [on] to the snares of death.
7 Rikicin mugaye zai yi gāba da su, gama sun ƙi su yi abin da yake daidai.
Destruction shall lodge with the ungodly; for they refuse to do justly.
8 Hanyar mai laifi karkatacciya ce, amma halin marar laifi sukan aikata gaskiya.
To the froward God sends froward ways; for his works are pure and right.
9 Gara a zauna a kusurwar rufin ɗaki da a zauna a gida ɗaya da mace mai fitina.
[It is] better to dwell in a corner on the house-top, than in plastered [rooms] with unrighteousness, and in an open house.
10 Mugun mutum yakan zaƙu ya aikata mugunta; maƙwabcinsa ba ya samun jinƙai daga gare shi.
The soul of the ungodly shall not be pitied by any man.
11 Sa’ad da aka hukunta mai ba’a marasa azanci suka yi wayo; sa’ad da aka yi wa mai hikima umarni yakan sami sani.
When an intemperate man is punished the simple becomes wiser: and a wise man understanding will receive knowledge.
12 Mai Adalci kan lura da gidan mugu kan kuma zama sanadin lalacin mugu.
A righteous man understands the hearts of the ungodly: and despises the ungodly for their wickedness.
13 In mutum ya toshe kunnuwansa ga kukan matalauci, shi ma zai yi kukan neman taimako ba kuwa zai sami amsa ba.
He that stops his ears from hearing the poor, himself also shall cry, and there shall be none to hear [him].
14 Kyautar da aka yi a asirce takan kwantar da fushi, kuma cin hancin da aka rufe a cikin riga kan tā da fushi mai tsanani.
A secret gift calms anger: but he that forbears to give stirs up strong wrath.
15 Sa’ad da aka yi adalci, yakan kawo farin ciki ga mai adalci amma fargaba ga masu aikata mugunta.
[It is] the joy of the righteous to do judgment: but a holy [man] is abominable with evil-doers.
16 Mutumin da ya kauce daga hanyar fahimi kan zo ga hutu a ƙungiyar matattu.
A man that wanders out of the way of righteousness, shall rest in the congregation of giants.
17 Duk mai son jin daɗi zai zama matalauci; duk mai son ruwan inabi da mai ba zai taɓa zama mai arziki ba.
A poor man loves mirth, loving wine and oil in abundance;
18 Mugu kan zama abin fansa don adali, marar aminci kuma don mai aikata gaskiya.
and a transgressor is the abomination of a righteous man.
19 Gara a zauna a hamada da a zauna da mace mai fitina da kuma mugun hali.
[It is] better to dwell in a wilderness than with a quarrelsome and talkative and passionate woman.
20 A gidan mai hikima akwai wuraren ajiya na abinci da mai masu kyau, amma wawa kan cinye duk abin da yake da shi.
A desirable treasure will rest on the mouth of the wise; but foolish men will swallow it up.
21 Duk wanda ya nemi adalci da ƙauna kan sami rai, wadata da girmamawa.
The way of righteousness and mercy will find life and glory.
22 Mutum mai hikima kan fāɗa wa birnin jarumawa ya kuma rushe katangar da suka dogara a kai.
A wise man assaults strong cities, and demolishes the fortress in which the ungodly trusted.
23 Duk wanda yake lura da bakinsa da kuma harshensa kan kiyaye kansa daga masifa.
He that keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps his soul from trouble.
24 Mai girmankai da kuma mai fariya, “Mai ba’a” ne sunansa; yana yin abubuwa da girmankai ainun.
A bold and self-willed and insolent [man] is called a pest: and he that remembers injuries is a transgressor.
25 Marmarin rago zai zama mutuwarsa, domin hannuwansa sun ƙi su yi aiki.
Desires kill the sluggard; for his hands do not choose to do anything.
26 Dukan yini yana marmari ya sami ƙari, amma mai adalci yakan bayar hannu sake.
An ungodly man entertains evil desires all the day: but the righteous is unsparingly merciful and compassionate.
27 Hadayar mugaye abin ƙyama ne, balle ma in aka kawo da mugun nufi!
The sacrifices of the ungodly are abomination to the Lord, for they offer them wickedly.
28 Mai ba da shaidar ƙarya zai hallaka, kuma duk wanda ya saurare shi zai hallaka har abada.
A false witness shall perish; but an obedient man will speak cautiously.
29 Mugun mutum kan yi tsayin daka, amma mai aikata gaskiya kan yi tunani a kan abin da yake yi.
An ungodly man impudently withstands with his face; but the upright man himself understands his ways.
30 Babu hikima, babu tunani, babu shirin da zai yi nasara a kan Ubangiji.
There is no wisdom, there is no courage, there is no counsel against the ungodly.
31 Akan shirya doki domin ranar yaƙi, amma nasara tana ga Ubangiji ne.
A horse is prepared for the day of battle; but help is of the Lord.
