1 Ruwan inabi mai yin ba’a ne, barasa kuma mai rikici ne; duk wanda suka sa ya kauce marar hikima ne.
Wine is a mocker and beer is a brawler. Whoever is led astray by them is not wise.
2 Fushin sarki yana kama da rurin zaki; duk wanda ya sa shi fushi zai rasa ransa.
The terror of a king is like the roaring of a lion. He who provokes him to anger forfeits his own life.
3 Bangirma ne ga mutum ya guji faɗa, amma kowane wawa yana saurin yin faɗa.
It is an honour for a man to keep aloof from strife, but every fool will be quarrelling.
4 Rago ba ya noma a lokacin noma; saboda haka a lokacin girbi ba ya bukata samun kome.
The sluggard will not plough by reason of the winter; therefore he shall beg in harvest, and have nothing.
5 Manufofin zuciyar mutum zurfafan ruwaye ne, amma mutum mai basira yakan jawo su.
Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water, but a man of understanding will draw it out.
6 Kowane mutum gani yake shi mai ƙauna marar ƙarewa ne, amma ina? Da ƙyar ka sami amintacce mutum guda.
Many men claim to be men of unfailing love, but who can find a faithful man?
7 Mai adalci kan yi rayuwa marar abin zargi; masu albarka ne’ya’yan da za su biyo bayansa.
A righteous man walks in integrity. Blessed are his children after him.
8 Sa’ad da sarki ya zauna kan kujerarsa don yă yi shari’a, yakan ga dukan mugunta da idanunsa.
A king who sits on the throne of judgement scatters away all evil with his eyes.
9 Wa zai iya cewa, “Na kiyaye zuciyata da tsarki; ni mai tsabta ne marar zunubi kuma”?
Who can say, “I have made my heart pure. I am clean and without sin”?
10 Ma’auni marar gaskiya da magwajin da ba daidai ba, Ubangiji ya ƙi su duka.
Differing weights and differing measures, both of them alike are an abomination to the LORD.
11 Akan san ƙananan yara ta ayyukansu, ana iya sani ko rayuwarsu amintattu ne, mai nagarta.
Even a child makes himself known by his doings, whether his work is pure, and whether it is right.
12 Kunnuwan da suke ji da kuma idanun da suke gani, Ubangiji ne ya yi su duka.
The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the LORD has made even both of them.
13 Kada ka so barci in ba haka ba za ka talauce; ka zauna a faɗake za ka kuwa kasance da sauran abinci.
Don’t love sleep, lest you come to poverty. Open your eyes, and you shall be satisfied with bread.
14 “Kai, ya yi tsada, ya yi tsada!” In ji mai saya; sa’ad da ya tafi yana taƙama a kan ya iya ciniki.
“It’s no good, it’s no good,” says the buyer; but when he is gone his way, then he boasts.
15 Zinariya akwai ta, lu’ulu’u kuma ga shi a yalwace, amma leɓunan da suke magana da sani suna da wuyan samu kamar duwatsu masu daraja.
There is gold and abundance of rubies, but the lips of knowledge are a rare jewel.
16 A karɓi rigunan wanda ya ɗauki lamunin baƙo; a riƙe shi jingina in ya yi shi don mace marar aminci.
Take the garment of one who puts up collateral for a stranger; and hold him in pledge for a wayward woman.
17 Abincin da aka samu ta hanyar zamba yakan zama da daɗi, amma mutum zai ƙarasa da baki cike da yashi.
Fraudulent food is sweet to a man, but afterwards his mouth is filled with gravel.
18 Ka yi shirye-shirye ta wurin neman shawara; in kana yaƙi, ka sami bishewa.
Plans are established by advice; by wise guidance you wage war!
19 Mai gulma yakan lalace yarda; saboda haka ka guji mutum mai yawan surutu.
He who goes about as a tale-bearer reveals secrets; therefore don’t keep company with him who opens wide his lips.
20 In mutum ya zargi mahaifinsa ko mahaifiyarsa, fitilarsa za tă mutu a tsakiyar duhu.
Whoever curses his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in blackness of darkness.
21 Gādon da aka samu da sauri a farkon farawa ba zai zama mai albarka a ƙarshe ba.
An inheritance quickly gained at the beginning won’t be blessed in the end.
22 Kada ka ce, “Zan rama wannan abin da aka yi mini!” Ka dogara ga Ubangiji, zai kuwa fisshe ka.
Don’t say, “I will pay back evil.” Wait for the LORD, and he will save you.
23 Ubangiji ya ƙi ma’aunin da ba daidai ba, da kuma magwajin da ba su gamshe shi ba.
The LORD detests differing weights, and dishonest scales are not pleasing.
24 Ubangiji ne yake bi da matakan mutum, Ta yaya wani zai fahimci hanyarsa?
A man’s steps are from the LORD; how then can man understand his way?
25 Tarko ne ga mutum ya keɓe wani abu da ba tunani daga baya kuma ya yi la’akari da alkawarinsa.
It is a snare to a man to make a rash dedication, then later to consider his vows.
26 Sarki mai hikima yakan gane mugunta; ya hukunta su ba tausayi.
A wise king winnows out the wicked, and drives the threshing wheel over them.
27 Fitilar Ubangiji kan bincika zuciyar mutum takan bincika lamirinsa.
The spirit of man is the LORD’s lamp, searching all his innermost parts.
28 Ƙauna da aminci kan kiyaye sarki lafiya; ta wurin ƙauna sarautarsa za tă zauna a kafe.
Love and faithfulness keep the king safe. His throne is sustained by love.
29 Ɗaukakar matasa maza ita ce ƙarfinsu, furfura ita ce darajar tsofaffi.
The glory of young men is their strength. The splendour of old men is their grey hair.
30 Naushi da rauni kan share mugunta, dūka kuma kan tsabtacce lamiri.
Wounding blows cleanse away evil, and beatings purge the innermost parts.
