1 Mutumin da ba ya abokantaka yakan nema ya cika burinsa ne kaɗai; yakan ƙi yarda da kowace maganar da take daidai.
A man seeketh, for satisfaction, going his own way, through all safe counsel, he breaketh.
2 Wawa ba ya sha’awa ya sami fahimta amma abin da yake so ya yi kaɗai, shi ne ya ba da ra’ayinsa.
A dullard, delighteth not, in understanding, in nothing save the exposing of his own heart.
3 Sa’ad da mugunci ya zo, reni ma kan zo, haka kuma sa’ad da kunya ta zo, shan kunya kan biyo.
When the lawless man cometh in, then cometh also contempt, and, with shame, reproach.
4 Kalmomin bakin mutum suna da zurfi kamar ruwaye, amma maɓulɓulan hikima rafi ne mai gudu.
Deep waters, are the words of a man’s mouth, —a bubbling brook, the well-spring of wisdom.
5 Ba shi da kyau ka yi wa mugu alheri ko ka hana wa marar laifi adalci.
To prefer a lawless man, is not good, thrusting away the righteous, in judgment.
6 Leɓunan wawa kan jawo masa faɗa, bakinsa kuma kan gayyaci dūka.
the lips of a dullard, enter into contention, and his mouth, for blows, crieth out.
7 Bakin wawa lalatar da kansa yake yi leɓunansa kuma tarko ne ga ransa.
The mouth of a dullard, is his ruin, and, his lips, are a snare to his soul.
8 Kalmomin mai gulma kamar abinci mai daɗi suke; sukan gangara zuwa can cikin gaɓoɓin mutum.
the words of a tattler, are dainties, they, therefore go down into the chambers of the inner man.
9 Wanda yake ragwanci a aikinsa ɗan’uwa ne ga wanda yakan lalatar da abubuwa.
Surely he that is slothful in his work, brother, is he to a master at laying waste.
10 Sunan Ubangiji hasumiya ce mai ƙarfi; masu adalci kan gudu zuwa wurinta don su zauna lafiya.
A tower of strength, is the Name of Yahweh, thereinto, runneth the righteous, and is safe.
11 Dukiyar masu arziki ita ce birninsu mai katanga; suna gani cewa ba za a iya huda katangar ba.
The substance of a rich man, is his strong city, and like a high wall, in his imagination.
12 Kafin fāɗuwarsa zuciyar mutum takan yi girman kai, amma sauƙinkai kan zo kafin girmamawa.
Before grievous injury, a man’s heart is haughty, and, before honour, is humility.
13 Duk wanda yakan ba da amsa kafin ya saurara, wannan wauta ce da kuma abin kunya.
He that answereth before he heareth, a folly, it is to him, and, a reproach.
14 Sa rai da mutum ke yi kan taimake shi sa’ad da yake ciwo, amma in ya karai, to, tasa ta ƙare.
The spirit of a man, sustaineth his sickness, but, a dejected spirit, who can bear it?
15 Zuciya mai la’akari kan nemi sani; kunnuwan mai hikima kan bincika don yă koya.
the heart of the intelligent, acquireth knowledge, yea, the ear of the wise, seeketh knowledge.
16 Kyauta kan buɗe hanya wa mai bayarwa yakan kuma kai shi a gaban babban mutum.
The gift of a man, maketh room for him, and, before great men, setteth him down.
17 Wanda ya fara mai da jawabi yakan zama kamar shi ne mai gaskiya, sai wani ya fito ya yi masa tambaya tukuna.
Righteous is he that is first in his own cause, then cometh his neighbour, and thoroughly searcheth him.
18 Jefa ƙuri’a kan daidaita tsakanin masu faɗa ta kuma ajiye masu faɗan a rabe.
The lot causeth, contentions, to cease, and, the mighty, it parteth.
19 Ɗan’uwan da aka yi wa laifi ya fi birni mai katanga wuyan shiryawa, kuma faɗace-faɗace suna kama da ƙofofin ƙarfe na fada.
A brother estranged, [is worse] than a strong city, —and, contentions, are as the bar of a citadel.
20 Daga abin da baki ya furta ne cikin mutum kan cika; girbi daga leɓunansa kuma yakan ƙoshi.
Of the fruit of a man’s mouth, shall his inmost mind be satisfied, with the product of his lips, shall he be satisfied.
21 Harshe yana da ikon rai da mutuwa, kuma waɗanda suke ƙaunarsa za su ci amfaninsa.
Death and life, are in the power of the tongue, and, its friends, shall eat its fruits.
22 Duk wanda ya sami mace ya sami abu mai kyau ya kuma sami tagomashi daga Ubangiji.
Who hath found a wife, hath found a blessing, and hath obtained favour from Yahweh.
23 Matalauci kan yi roƙo da taushi, amma mawadaci kan amsa da kakkausar murya.
Supplications, doth the poor man utter, but, the rich, answereth fiercely.
24 Mutum mai abokai masu yawa kan lalace, amma akwai abokin da yakan manne kurkusa fiye da ɗan’uwa.
A man having [many] friends, shall come to ruin, but there is a loving one, who sticketh closer than a brother.
