1 Maganar Ubangiji wadda ta zo wurin Yowel ɗan Fetuwel.
The Lord’s message that came to Joel, son of Pethuel.
2 Ku ji wannan, ku dattawa, ku kasa kunne, dukan waɗanda suke zaune a ƙasar. Ko wani abu makamancin haka ya taɓa faruwa a kwanakinku ko a kwanakin kakanninku?
Hear this, elders, pay attention, all inhabitants of the land. Has anything like this happened in your days, or in the days of your ancestors?
3 Ku faɗa wa’ya’yanku, bari kuma’ya’yanku su faɗa wa’ya’yansu,’ya’yansu kuma su faɗa wa tsara ta gaba.
Recount it to your children; let your children tell it to their children, and their children to the generation that follows.
4 Abin da ɗango ya bari fāri masu girma sun cinye; abin da fāri masu girma suka bari, burduduwa ta cinye; abin da burduduwa ta bari sauran kwari sun cinye.
That which the cutting locust has left, the swarming locust has eaten, that which the swarming locust has left, the hopping locust has eaten, and that which the hopping locust has left, the destroying locust has eaten.
5 Ku farka, ku bugaggu, ku yi kuka! Ku yi kuka da ƙarfi, ku dukan mashayan ruwan inabi; ku yi kuka mai ƙarfi saboda sabon ruwan inabi, gama an riga an ƙwace ta daga leɓunanku.
Awake, drunkards, and weep, and wail, all drinkers of wine; the new wine is cut off from your mouth.
6 Wata al’umma ta mamaye ƙasata, tana da ƙarfi ba ta kuma ƙidayuwa; tana da haƙoran zaki, da zagar zakanya.
For a nation has come up on my land, powerful, and numberless; its teeth are the teeth of a lion, and its jaw-teeth are like those of a lioness.
7 Ta mayar da kuringar inabina kango ta kuma lalatar da itatuwan ɓaurena. Ta ɓamɓare bayansu duka ta kuma jefar da su ta bar rassansu fari fat.
It has laid waste my vines, and barked my fig tree; it has peeled and cast it away, bleached are the branches.
8 Ku yi makoki kamar budurwa a cikin tsummoki tana baƙin ciki domin mijinta na ƙuruciyarta.
Wail as a bride, clad in sack-cloth, for the husband of her youth.
9 Hadayun hatsi da hadayun sha an yanke su daga gidan Ubangiji. Firistoci suna makoki, su waɗanda suke yi wa Ubangiji hidima.
Cut off are the cereal and drink-offerings from the house of the Lord; in mourning are the priests, who minister at the Lord’s altar.
10 Filaye sun zama marasa amfani, ƙasa ta bushe; an lalatar da hatsi, sabon ruwan inabin ya bushe, mai kuma ba amfani.
The fields are blasted, the land is in mourning, for ruined is the grain, the new wine fails and the oil is dried up.
11 Ku fid da zuciya, ku manoma, ku yi ihu, ku masu noma inabi; ku yi baƙin ciki saboda alkama da sha’ir, saboda an lalata girbin filaye.
Be dismayed, farmers; wail, vine-dressers. For the wheat and the barley; for the harvest is lost from the fields.
12 Kuringar inabin ta bushe itacen ɓaure kuma ya yi yaushi,’ya’yan rumman, itacen dabino da itacen gawasa, dukan itatuwan filaye, sun bushe. Tabbatacce farin cikin’yan adam ya bushe.
The vine fails to bear fruit, and the fig tree is drooping; the pomegranate, palm, and apple, all the trees of the field are dried up. The people’s joy withers.
13 Ku sa tsummoki, ya firistoci, ku yi makoki; ku yi ihu, ku da kuke yin hidima a gaban bagade. Zo, ku kwana saye da tsummoki, ku waɗanda kuke yi wa Allahna hidima, gama an yanke hadayun hatsi da hadayun sha daga gidan Allahnku.
Put on sackcloth, and beat your breasts, priests; wail, ministers of the altar; come, lie all night in sack-cloth, ministers of God; for cereal-offering and drink-offering are cut off from the house of your God.
14 Ku yi shelar azumi mai tsarki; ku kira tsarkakan taro. Ku kira dattawa da kuma dukan mazaunan ƙasar zuwa gidan Ubangiji Allahnku, ku kuma yi kuka ga Ubangiji.
Sanctify a fast, summon an assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the Lord your God, cry to the Lord:
15 Kaito saboda wannan rana! Gama ranar Ubangiji ta kusa, za tă zo kamar hallaka daga wurin Maɗaukaki.
Alas for the day! Near at hand is the day of the Lord, and as destruction from the Almighty it comes.
16 Ba a yanke abinci a idanunmu, farin ciki da kuma murna daga gidan Allahnmu ba?
Is not food cut off from before us, gladness and joy from the house of our God?
17 Iri suna ta yanƙwanewa a busasshiyar ƙasa Ɗakunan ajiya sun lalace, an rurrushe rumbunan hatsin, gama hatsi ya ƙare.
The grains shrivel under their hoes, the storehouses are desolate, the barns broken down, for the grain is withered.
18 Ji yadda dabbobi suke nishi! Garkunan shanu sun ruɗe saboda ba su da ciyawa, har garkunan tumaki ma suna shan wahala.
How the herds of cattle bellow in distress, for they have no pasture! The flocks of sheep are forlorn.
19 A gare ka, ya Ubangiji, nake kira, gama wuta ta cinye wurin kiwo harshen wuta kuma ya ƙone dukan itatuwan jeji.
To you, the Lord, I cry. For fire has devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and flame has scorched all the trees of the field.
20 Har ma namun jeji suna haki gare ka; rafuffuka sun bushe wuta kuma ta cinye wurin kiwo a jeji.
The wild animals also look up to you longingly, for the water-courses are dried up, and fire has devoured the pastures of the wilderness.
