2 Sama’ila 8
1 Ana nan, sai Dawuda ya ci Filistiyawa da yaƙi, ya kawo ƙarshen mulkinsu a ƙasar, ya kuma ƙwace ƙasar Meteg Amma daga hannun Filistiyawa.
Some time later, David defeated the Philistines, subdued them, and took Metheg-ammah from the hand of the Philistines.
2 Haka kuma Dawuda ya ci Mowabawa. Ya sa suka kwanta a ƙasa, ya kuma auna su da igiya. Kowane awo biyu ya sa a kashe su, amma awo na uku sai yă sa a bar su da rai. Saboda haka Mowabawa suka zama bayin Dawuda, suka kuma kawo masa haraji.
David also defeated the Moabites, made them lie down on the ground, and measured them off with a cord. He measured off with two lengths those to be put to death, and with one length those to be spared. So the Moabites became subject to David and brought him tribute.
3 Ban da haka, Dawuda ya yaƙi Hadadezer ɗan Rehob, sarkin Zoba. Wannan ya faru a lokacin da Hadadezer yake kan hanyarsa zuwa Kogin Yuferites don yă sāke mai da wurin a ƙarƙashin ikonsa.
David also defeated Hadadezer son of Rehob, king of Zobah, who had marched out to restore his dominion along the Euphrates River.
4 Dawuda ya kame keken yaƙinsa guda dubu, mahayan keken yaƙinsa dubu bakwai, da sojojin ƙasa dubu ashirin. Ya yayyanke agaran dawakan duka amma ya bar dawakai kekunan yaƙi ɗari.
David captured from him a thousand chariots, seven thousand charioteers, and twenty thousand foot soldiers, and he hamstrung all the horses except a hundred he kept for the chariots.
5 Sa’ad da Arameyawan Damaskus suka zo don su taimaki Hadadezer sarkin Zoba, sai Dawuda ya karkashe dubu ashirin da biyunsu.
When the Arameans of Damascus came to help King Hadadezer of Zobah, David struck down twenty-two thousand men.
6 Ya ajiye ƙungiyoyi sojoji a masarautar Arameyawan Damaskus, Arameyawa kuwa suka zama bayinsa, suka biya shi haraji. Ubangiji ya ba Dawuda nasara a duk inda ya tafi.
Then he placed garrisons in Aram of Damascus, and the Arameans became subject to David and brought him tribute. So the LORD made David victorious wherever he went.
7 Dawuda ya kwashe garkuwoyin zinariya na shugabannin sojojin Hadadezer ya kawo Urushalima.
And David took the gold shields that belonged to the officers of Hadadezer and brought them to Jerusalem.
8 Daga Teba da Berotai, garuruwan da suke ƙarƙashin Hadadezer, Sarki Dawuda ya kwashe tagulla masu yawan gaske.
And from Betah and Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, King David took a large amount of bronze.
9 Da Towu sarkin Hamat ya ji cewa Dawuda ya ci dukan rundunar Hadadezer,
When King Toi of Hamath heard that David had defeated the entire army of Hadadezer,
10 sai ya aiki ɗansa Yoram wurin Sarki Dawuda yă gaishe, yă kuma yi masa barka saboda nasarar da ya yi a kan Hadadezer, gama Hadadezer nan ya hana Towu sakewa. Yoram ya tafi ɗauke da kayan azurfa, da na zinariya, da na tagulla.
he sent his son Joram to greet King David and bless him for fighting and defeating Hadadezer, who had been at war with Toi. Joram brought with him articles of silver and gold and bronze,
11 Sarki Dawuda kuwa ya keɓe waɗannan kayayyaki wa Ubangiji, yadda ya yi da zinariya, da kuma azurfa daga dukan al’umman da ya mallaka,
and King David dedicated these to the LORD, along with the silver and gold he had dedicated from all the nations he had subdued—
12 wato, azurfa da zinariyan mutanen Edom, da na Mowabawa, da na Ammonawa, da na Filistiyawa, da na Amalekawa, da ganimar Hadadezer ɗan Rehob, sarkin Zoba.
from Edom and Moab, from the Ammonites and Philistines and Amalekites, and from the spoil of Hadadezer son of Rehob, king of Zobah.
13 Dawuda kuwa ya ƙara zama shahararre bayan ya dawo daga kai wa ƙasar Aram hari, daga nan sai ya je ya karkashe mutanen Edom dubu goma sha takwas a Kwarin Gishiri.
And David made a name for himself when he returned from striking down eighteen thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt.
14 Ya ajiye rundunar sojoji ko’ina a Edom, dukan mutanen Edom kuwa suka zama bayin Dawuda. Ubangiji ya ba wa Dawuda nasara a duk inda ya tafi.
He placed garrisons throughout Edom, and all the Edomites were subject to David. So the LORD made David victorious wherever he went.
15 Dawuda ya yi mulkin dukan ƙasar Isra’ila, yana yin wa dukan jama’arsa shari’ar gaskiya da adalci.
Thus David reigned over all Israel and administered justice and righteousness for all his people:
16 Yowab ɗan Zeruhiya ya zama shugaban sojoji; Yehoshafat ɗan Ahilud kuwa shi ne marubucin tarihi;
Joab son of Zeruiah was over the army; Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was the recorder;
17 Zadok ɗan Ahitub da Ahimelek ɗan Abiyatar, su ne firistoci; Serahiya kuma sakatare;
Zadok son of Ahitub and Ahimelech son of Abiathar were priests; Seraiah was the scribe;
18 Benahiya ɗan Yehohiyada ne shugaban Keretawa da Feletiyawa, wato, sojoji masu gadin Dawuda, sa’an nan’ya’yan Dawuda maza su ne mashawartan sarki.
Benaiah son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and Pelethites; and David’s sons were priestly leaders.
