1 Yowash yana da shekara goma sha bakwai sa’ad da ya zama sarki, ya kuma yi sarauta a Urushalima shekara arba’in. Sunan mahaifiyarsa Zibiya ce; ita daga Beyersheba.
Joash was seven years old when he began to reign; and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Zibiah of Beer-sheba.
2 Yowash ya yi abin da yake daidai a gaban Ubangiji duka shekarun Yehohiyada firist.
And Joash did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD all the days of Jehoiada the priest.
3 Yehohiyada ya zaɓi mata biyu dominsa, yana kuma da’ya’ya maza da’ya’ya mata.
And Jehoiada took for him two wives; and he begot sons and daughters.
4 Wani lokaci daga baya Yowash ya yanke shawara yă gyara haikalin Ubangiji.
And it came to pass after this, that Joash was minded to restore the house of the LORD.
5 Ya tara firistoci da Lawiyawa wuri ɗaya ya ce musu, “Ku je garuruwan Yahuda ku karɓa kuɗin da ya kamata a biya shekara-shekara daga dukan Isra’ila, don gyaran haikalin Allahnku. Ku yi haka yanzu.” Amma Lawiyawa ba su yi haka nan da nan ba.
And he gathered together the priests and the Levites, and said to them: 'Go out unto the cities of Judah, and gather of all Israel money to repair the house of your God from year to year, and see that ye hasten the matter.' Howbeit the Levites hastened it not.
6 Saboda haka sarki ya kira Yehohiyada babban firist ya ce masa, “Me ya sa ba ka bukaci Lawiyawa su kawo harajin da Musa bawan Ubangiji ya ce a biya daga Yahuda da Urushalima da kuma taron Isra’ila domin Tentin Sujada Shaida ba?”
And the king called for Jehoiada the chief, and unto him: 'Why hast thou not required of the Levites to bring in out of Judah and out of Jerusalem the tax of Moses the servant of the LORD, and of the congregation of Israel, for the tent of the testimony?'
7 Yanzu’ya’ya muguwar macen nan Ataliya maza sun fasa zuwa cikin haikalin Allah, suka kuma yi amfani da kayayyaki masu tsarki ma wa Ba’al.
For the sons of Athaliah, that wicked woman, had broken up the house of God; and also all the hallowed things of the house of the LORD did they bestow upon the Baalim.
8 Bisa ga umarnin sarki, aka yi akwati aka sa a waje, a mashigin haikalin Ubangiji.
So the king commanded, and they made a chest, and set it without at the gate of the house of the LORD.
9 Aka yi umarni a Yahuda da Urushalima cewa ya kamata suka kawo wa Ubangiji harajin da Musa bawan Allah ya bukaci daga Isra’ila a hamada.
And they made a proclamation through Judah and Jerusalem, to bring in for the LORD the tax that Moses the servant of God laid upon Israel in the wilderness.
10 Dukan hafsoshi da dukan mutane suka kawo nasu kuɗin da aka sa musu da farin ciki, suna zuba su cikin akwatin sai da ya cika.
And all the princes and all the people rejoiced, and brought in, and cast into the chest, until they had made an end.
11 Duk sa’ad da Lawiyawa suka fito da akwatin zuwa ga hafsoshin sarki, suka kuma ga cewa akwatin yana da kuɗi mai yawa, sai magatakardan fada da hafsan babban firist su zo su juya kuɗin daga akwatin su mai da shi wurinsa. Sun riƙa yin haka kullum suka tara kuɗi mai yawa.
And it was so, that at what time the chest was brought unto the king's officers by the hand of the Levites, and when they saw that there was much money, the king's scribe and the chief priest's officer came and emptied the chest, and took it, and carried it back to its place. Thus they did day by day, and gathered money in abundance.
12 Sarki da Yehohiyada suka ba da shi ga mutanen da suka yi aikin da ake bukata don haikalin Ubangiji. Suka ɗauki masu gini da kafintoci don su gyara haikalin Ubangiji, da kuma ma’aikatan ƙarafa da tagulla don su gyara haikalin.
And the king and Jehoiada gave it to such as did the work of the service of the house of the LORD; and they hired masons and carpenters to restore the house of the LORD, and also such as wrought iron and brass to repair the house of the LORD.
13 Mutanen da suke lura da aikin natsattsu ne, kuma gyare-gyaren suka ci gaba a ƙarƙashinsu. Suka sāke gina haikalin Allah bisa ga ainihin fasalinsa suka ƙara masa ƙarfi.
So the workmen wrought, and the work was perfected by them, and they set up the house of God in its state, and strengthened it.
14 Da suka gama, suka kawo sauran kuɗin wa sarki da Yehohiyada, da su ne kuwa aka yi kayayyaki domin hidima da kuma domin hadayun ƙonawa, haka kuma kwanoni da sauran kayayyakin zinariya da azurfa. Muddin Yehohiyada yana raye, aka riƙa kawo hadayun ƙonawa a haikalin Ubangiji.
And when they had made an end, they brought the rest of the money before the king and Jehoiada, whereof were made vessels for the house of the LORD, even vessels wherewith to minister, and buckets, and pans, and vessels of gold and silver. And they offered burnt-offerings in the house of the LORD continually all the days of Jehoiada.
15 Yanzu Yehohiyada ya tsufa kuma cike da shekaru, ya kuwa mutu yana da shekara ɗari da talatin.
But Jehoiada waxed old and was full of days, and he died; a hundred and thirty years old was he when he died.
16 Aka binne shi tare da sarakuna a cikin Birnin Dawuda, saboda kirkin da ya yi a Isra’ila wa Allah da haikalinsa.
And they buried him in the city of David among the kings, because he had done good in Israel, and toward God and His house.
17 Bayan mutuwar Yehohiyada, hafsoshin Yahuda suka zo suka yi mubaya’a wa sarki, ya kuma saurare su.
Now after the death of Jehoiada came the princes of Judah, and prostrated themselves before the king. Then the king hearkened unto them.
18 Suka yashe haikalin Ubangiji Allah na kakanninsu, suka bauta wa ginshiƙan Ashera da kuma gumaka. Saboda laifinsu, fushin Allah ya sauko a kan Yahuda da Urushalima.
And they forsook the house of the LORD, the God of their fathers, and served the Asherim and the idols; and wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this their guiltiness.
19 Ko da yake Ubangiji ya aiki annabawa zuwa wurin mutane don su dawo da su gare shi, kuma ko da yake sun ba da shaida a kansu, ba su saurara ba.
Yet He sent prophets to them, to bring them back unto the LORD; and they admonished them, but they would not give ear.
20 Sai Ruhun Allah ya sauko a kan Zakariya ɗan Yehohiyada firist. Ya tsaya a gaban mutane ya ce, “Ga abin da Allah ya ce, ‘Me ya sa ba ku yi biyayya da umarnan Ubangiji ba? Ba za ku yi nasara ba. Domin kun yashe Ubangiji, shi ma ya yashe ku.’”
And the spirit of God clothed Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest; and he stood above the people, and said unto them: 'Thus saith God: Why transgress ye the commandments of the LORD, that ye cannot prosper? because ye have forsaken the LORD, He hath also forsaken you.'
21 Amma suka yi masa maƙarƙashiya, kuma ta wurin umarnin sarki suka jajjefe shi da duwatsu har ya mutu a filin haikalin Ubangiji.
And they conspired against him, and stoned him with stones at the commandment of the king in the court of the house of the LORD.
22 Sarki Yowash bai tuna da alherin da Yehohiyada mahaifin Zakariya ya nuna masa ba, sai ya kashe ɗansa, wanda ya ce yayinda yake mutuwa, “Bari Ubangiji yă dubi wannan yă kuma sāka maka.”
Thus Joash the king remembered not the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but slew his son. And when he died, he said: 'The LORD look upon it, and require it.'
23 Da shekara ta kewaye, mayaƙan Aram suka yi gāba da Yowash suka kai hari wa Yahuda da Urushalima suka kuma kashe dukan shugabannin mutane, suka aika da dukan ganima zuwa ga sarkinsu a Damaskus.
And it came to pass, when the year was come about, that the army of the Arameans came up against him; and they came to Judah and Jerusalem, and destroyed all the princes of the people from among the people, and sent all the spoil of them unto the king of Damascus.
24 Ko da yake mayaƙan Arameyawa sun zo da mutane kaɗan kawai, Ubangiji ya sa suka ci nasara a kan sojojin Yahuda mafi yawa, don mutanen Yahuda sun rabu da Ubangiji Allah na kakanninsu, aka kuma hukunta Yowash.
For the army of the Arameans came with a small company of men; and the LORD delivered a very great host into their hand, because they had forsaken the LORD, the God of their fathers. So they executed judgment upon Joash.
25 Sa’ad da Arameyawa suka janye, suka bar Yowash da mummunan rauni. Hafsoshinsa suka haɗa baki a kansa saboda kisan ɗan Yehohiyada firist da ya yi, suka kashe shi a kan gadonsa. Ta haka ya mutu aka kuma binne shi makabartan sarakuna.
And when they were departed from him — for they left him in great diseases — his own servants conspired against him for the blood of the sons of Jehoiada the priest, and slew him on his bed, and he died; and they buried him in the city of David, but they buried him not in the sepulchres of the kings.
26 Waɗanda suka haɗa bakin kuwa su ne Zabad ɗan Shimeyat wata mutuniyar Ammon da Yehozabad ɗan Shimrit wata mutuniyar Mowab.
And these are they that conspired against him: Zabad the son of Shimeath the Ammonitess, and Jehozabad the son of Shimrith the Moabitess.
27 Labarin’ya’yansa maza, annabce-annabce masu yawa game da shi, da tarihin gyaran haikalin Allah suna a rubuce a rubuce-rubuce a littafin sarakuna. Amaziya ɗansa kuwa ya gāje shi a matsayin sarki.
Now concerning his sons, and the multitude of the burdens against him, and the rebuilding of the house of God, behold, they are written in the commentary of the book of the kings. And Amaziah his son reigned in his stead.
