Then Nahash the Ammonite came up, and encamped against Jabesh-gilead. And all the men of Jabesh said to Nahash, Make a covenant with us, and we will serve thee.
2 Amma Nahash ya ce, “Zan ƙulla amana da ku kawai a kan sharaɗin cewa zan ƙwaƙulo idon dama na kowannenku, ta haka za a kunyata Isra’ila.”
And Nahash the Ammonite said to them, On this condition will I make it with you, that all your right eyes be put out, and I will lay it for a reproach upon all Israel.
3 Dattawan Yabesh suka ce masa, “Ka ba mu kwana bakwai don mu aika manzanni a dukan ƙasar Isra’ila idan ba mu sami wanda zai cece mu ba, za mu ba da kanmu gare ka.”
And the elders of Jabesh said to him, Give us seven days' respite that we may send messengers to all the borders of Israel, and then, if there be none to save us, we will come out to thee.
4 Da manzannin suka zo Gibeya garin Shawulu, suka gaya wa mutane wannan sharaɗin, suka yi kuka mai zafi.
Then the messengers came to Gibeah of Saul, and spoke these words in the ears of the people. And all the people lifted up their voice, and wept.
5 A daidai wannan lokacin kuwa Shawulu yana dawowa daga gona tare da shanunsa na noma, sai ya ce, “Me ya faru, mutane suna kuka haka?” Sai suka faɗa masa abin da mutanen Yabesh suka faɗa musu.
And, behold, Saul came following the oxen out of the field, and Saul said, What troubles the people that they weep? And they told him the words of the men of Jabesh.
And the Spirit of God came mightily upon Saul when he heard those words, and his anger was greatly kindled.
Mutanen suka ji tsoron Ubangiji suka fita gaba ɗaya kamar mutum guda.
And he took a yoke of oxen, and cut them in pieces, and sent them throughout all the borders of Israel by the hand of messengers, saying, Whoever does not come forth behind Saul and behind Samuel, so shall it be done to his oxen. And the dread of Jehovah fell on the people, and they came out as one man.
8 Mutanen Isra’ila sun kai dubu ɗari uku.
And he numbered them in Bezek, and the sons of Israel were three hundred thousand, and the men of Judah thirty thousand.

And they said to the messengers who came, Thus ye shall say to the men of Jabesh-gilead, Tomorrow, by the time the sun is hot, ye shall have deliverance. And the messengers came and told the men of Jabesh, and they were glad.
10 Suka ce wa Ammonawa, “Gobe za mu miƙa wuya gare ku, ku kuma yi duk abin da kuka ga dama.”
Therefore the men of Jabesh said, Tomorrow we will come out to you, and ye shall do with us all that seems good to you.

And it was so on the morrow, that Saul put the people in three companies. And they came into the midst of the camp in the morning watch, and smote the Ammonites until the heat of the day. And it came to pass, that those who remained were scattered so that not two of them were left together.
12 Sai mutane suka ce wa Sama’ila, “Su wa suka ce, ‘Shawulu zai yi mulkinmu?’ A kawo mana su mu kashe.”
And the people said to Samuel, Who is he who said, Shall Saul reign over us? Bring the men that we may put them to death.
And Saul said, There shall not a man be put to death this day, for today Jehovah has wrought deliverance in Israel.
14 Sai Sama’ila ya ce wa mutane, “Ku zo mu tafi Gilgal, a can za a yi wankan sarauta.”
Then Samuel said to the people, Come, and let us go to Gilgal, and renew the kingdom there.
15 Don haka dukan mutane suka tafi Gilgal, suka tabbatar da Shawulu sarki a gaban Ubangiji. A can suka miƙa hadaya ta salama a gaban Ubangiji, Shawulu kuwa da dukan Isra’ila suka yi babban liyafa.
And all the people went to Gilgal. And there they made Saul king before Jehovah in Gilgal, and there they offered sacrifices of peace offerings before Jehovah, and there Saul and all the men of Israel rejoiced greatly.
