1 Bayan Dawuda ya yi gine-gine wa kansa a Birnin Dawuda, sai ya shirya wuri domin akwatin alkawarin Allah, ya kuma kafa tenti dominsa.
David [commanded his workers to] build some houses for him in Jerusalem. He also told them to set up a tent in which to put the Sacred Chest.
2 Sa’an nan Dawuda ya ce, “Babu wani sai ko Lawiyawa kaɗai za su ɗauka akwatin alkawarin Allah, gama Ubangiji ya zaɓe su su ɗauka akwatin alkawarin Ubangiji su kuma yi hidima a gabansa har abada.”
He said, “Only the descendants of Levi are permitted to carry God’s Sacred Chest, because they are the ones whom God chose to carry it and to serve him forever.”
3 Dawuda ya tattara dukan Isra’ila a Urushalima don su haura da akwatin alkawarin Ubangiji zuwa wurin da aka shirya dominsa.
David summoned all the people of Israel to come to Jerusalem. He wanted the Sacred Chest of Yahweh to be put in the place that he had made for it.
4 Ya tattara zuriyar Haruna a wuri ɗaya da kuma Lawiyawa.
He summoned the descendants of Aaron, [who was the first Supreme Priest, ] and the other descendants of Levi.
5 Daga zuriyar Kohat, Uriyel shugaba da dangi 120;
120 descendants of Kohath, who was Levi’s second son, came, with Uriel their leader.
6 daga zuriyar Merari Asahiya shugaba da dangi 220;
There were 220 descendants of Merari, Levi’s third son, who came, with Asaiah their leader.
7 daga zuriyar Gershom, Yowel shugaba da dangi 130;
There were 130 descendants of Gershon, Levi’s first son, who came, with Joel their leader.
8 daga zuriyar Elizafan, Shemahiya shugaba da dangi 200;
There were 200 people from Elizaphan’s clan who came, with Shemaiah their leader.
9 daga zuriyar Hebron, Eliyel shugaba da dangi 80;
There were 80 people from Hebron’s clan who came, with Eliel their leader.
10 daga zuriyar Uzziyel, Amminadab shugaba da dangi 112.
And there were 112 people from Uzziel’s clan who came, with Amminadab their leader.
11 Sa’an nan Dawuda ya kira Zadok da Abiyatar, firistoci, tare da Uriyel, Asahiya, Yowel, Shemahiya, Eliyel da Amminadab, Lawiyawa.
David summoned the priests Zadok and Abiathar and these [other] descendants of Levi: Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, and Amminadab.
12 Ya ce musu, “Ku ne kawunan iyalan Lawiyawa; ku da’yan’uwanku Lawiyawa, sai ku tsarkake kanku ku hauro da akwatin alkawarin Ubangiji, Allah na Isra’ila, zuwa wurin da na shirya dominsa.
David said to them, “You are the leaders of the clans descended from Levi. You and the other descendants of Levi must purify yourselves, in order to [be able to do this special work for Yahweh. You must] bring the Sacred Chest of Yahweh, the God of us Israelis, up to the place that I have made for it [here in Jerusalem].
13 Domin ku, Lawiyawa ba ku haura da shi da farko ba ne ya sa Ubangiji Allahnmu ya husata a kanmu. Ba mu tambaye shi game da yadda za mu yi shi a hanyar da aka ƙayyade ba.”
The first time that we tried to bring it, we did not ask Yahweh how we should carry it {it should be carried}. You [descendants of Levi] were not the ones who carried it, so Yahweh our God punished us.”
14 Saboda haka firistoci da Lawiyawa suka tsarkake kansu don su hauro da akwatin alkawarin Ubangiji, Allah na Isra’ila.
Then the priests and the [other] descendants of Levi [performed the rituals to] purify themselves, in order that it would be proper for them to do the work of carrying the Sacred Chest of Yahweh, the God of us Israeli people.
15 Sai Lawiyawa suka ɗauki akwatin alkawarin Allah da sanduna a kafaɗunsu, kamar yadda Musa ya umarta bisa ga maganar Ubangiji.
The descendants of Levi [inserted] the poles [into the rings on] the Sacred Chest so that with them, they could carry the Sacred Chest on their shoulders, like Moses had commanded, and like Yahweh had said that they should.
16 Dawuda ya faɗa wa shugabannin Lawiyawa su sa’yan’uwansu su zama mawaƙa don su rera waƙoƙi masu farin ciki, da kayayyakin bushe-bushe, da kaɗe-kaɗe, molaye, garayu da ganguna.
David told the leaders of the descendants of Levi to appoint some of their relatives to sing joyful songs and play lyres, harps, and cymbals [while they were carrying the Sacred Chest].
17 Saboda haka Lawiyawa suka zaɓi Heman ɗan Yowel, da Asaf ɗan Berekiya daga cikin’yan’uwansu. Daga iyalin Merari kuma aka zaɓi Etan ɗan Kushahiya.
So they appointed Heman and his relatives Asaph and Ethan. Heman was the son of Joel; Asaph was the son of Berekiah. Ethan, a descendant of Merari, was Kushaiah’s son.
18 Tare da su kuma’yan’uwansa da suke biye bisa ga matsayi. Wato, Zakariya, Ya’aziyel, Shemiramot, Yehiyel, Unni, Eliyab, Ben, Ma’asehiya, Mattitiya, Elifelehu, Miknehiya, Obed-Edom da Yehiyel, matsaran ƙofofi.
There was also another group of descendants of Levi who were appointed: Zechariah, Jaaziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, and two of the Sacred Tent gatekeepers, Obed-Edom and Jeiel.
19 Mawaƙan nan Heman, Asaf da Etan, ne za su buga kugen tagulla.
Heman, Asaph and Ethan sang, and also played bronze cymbals.
20 Zakariya, Aziyel, Shemiramot, Yehiyel, Unni, Eliyab, Ma’asehiya da Benahiya, ne za su kaɗa molaye masu murya sama-sama, bisa ga alamot.
Zechariah, Aziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaseiah, and Benaiah played lyres.
21 Mattitiya, Elifelehu, Miknehiya, Obed-Edom, Yehiyel da Azaziya, ne za su ja garayu masu murya ƙasa-ƙasa bisa ga sheminit.
Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-Edom, Jeiel and Azaziah played harps.
22 Kenaniya, shugaban Lawiyawa, shi ne mai bi da waƙoƙi. Wannan hakkinsa ne, gama shi gwani ne a wannan fanni.
Kenaniah, the leader of the descendants of Levi, directed the singing because he was very skilled at doing that.
23 Berekiya da Elkana, ne za su zama masu lura da ƙofofi domin akwatin alkawarin.
Berekiah and Elkanah were two of the men who guarded the Sacred Chest.
24 Shebaniya, Yoshafat, Netanel, Amasai, Zakariya, Benahiya da Eliyezer firistoci, su ne za su busa ƙahoni a gaban akwatin alkawarin Allah. Obed-Edom da Yehiya su ma za su zama masu lura da ƙofofi domin akwatin alkawarin.
The priests Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah, and Eliezer were appointed to blow trumpets in front of the Sacred Chest. Obed-Edom and Jehiah also guarded the Sacred Chest.
25 Sai Dawuda da dattawan Isra’ila da shugabannin ƙungiyoyi dubu suka haura don su kawo akwatin alkawarin Ubangiji daga gidan Obed-Edom, da farin ciki.
David and the Israeli leaders and the officers who commanded 1,000 soldiers went to bring the Sacred Chest back from Obed-Edom’s house. They were very joyful as they brought it to Jerusalem.
26 Domin Allah ya taimaki Lawiyawan da suke ɗaukar akwatin alkawarin Ubangiji, aka miƙa hadayar bijimai bakwai da raguna bakwai.
God helped the descendants of Levi who carried the Sacred Chest of Yahweh; therefore David and the leaders sacrificed seven bulls and seven (rams/male sheep) [to thank him].
27 To, fa, Dawuda yana saye da kyakkyawar rigar lilin, kamar yadda dukan Lawiyawa waɗanda suke ɗaukar akwatin alkawarin suka sa, da kuma yadda mawaƙa, da Kenaniya, wanda yake bi da waƙar mawaƙan ya sa. Dawuda kuma ya sa efod lilin.
All the descendants of Levi who carried the Sacred Chest, all the singers, and Kenaniah, the man who directed those who sang, wore robes of fine white linen and sacred vests made of fine linen. David also wore a sacred vest made of white linen.
28 Sai dukan Isra’ila suka kawo akwatin alkawarin Ubangiji da sowa, da ƙarar ƙahonin raguna da busan ƙahoni, da na ganguna, suna kuma kaɗa molaye da garayu.
So all of the Israeli people joined in bringing the Sacred Chest up [to Jerusalem]. They shouted [joyfully, while the musicians] blew horns and trumpets, and played cymbals, lyres, and harps.
29 Yayinda akwatin alkawarin Ubangiji yake shiga Birnin Dawuda, Mikal’yar Shawulu ta leƙa daga taga. Sa’ad da ta ga Sarki Dawuda yana rawa yana shagali, sai ta rena masa wayo a zuciyarta.
While they were bringing the Sacred Chest into Jerusalem, Saul’s daughter Michal watched them, looking out of a window. When she saw King David dancing and celebrating, she despised him.
