1 Dukan Isra’ila fa suka taru wurin Dawuda a Hebron suka ce, “Mu jiki da jininka ne.
Then did all Israel gather themselves together to David, unto Hebron, saying, —Lo! thy bone and thy flesh, are we.
2 A dā, ko a lokacin da Shawulu yake sarki, ai, kai ne kake shugabantar Isra’ila a yaƙe-yaƙe. Kuma Ubangiji Allahnka ya ce maka, ‘Za ka zama makiyayin mutanena Isra’ila, za ka kuma zama mai mulkinsu.’”
Moreover also, in time past even when Saul was king, thou, wast he that led out and brought in Israel, —and Yahweh thy God said unto thee, Thou, shalt shepherd my people Israel, Yea, thou, shalt be chief ruler, over my people Israel.
3 Sa’ad da dukan dattawan Isra’ila suka zo wurin Sarki Dawuda a Hebron, suka yi yarjejjeniya da shi a gaban Ubangiji, suka kuwa shafe Dawuda ya zama sarki a bisa Isra’ila, yadda Ubangiji ya yi alkawari ta wurin Sama’ila.
Thus came all the elders of Israel unto the king, to Hebron, and David solemnised to them a covenant in Hebron, before Yahweh, —and they anointed David to be king over Israel, according to the word of Yahweh, through Samuel.
4 Dawuda tare da dukan Isra’ilawa suka taka zuwa Urushalima (wato, Yebus). Yebusiyawan da suke zama a wurin
Then went David and all Israel to Jerusalem, the same, was Jebus, —where were the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land.
5 suka ce wa Dawuda, “Ba za ka shiga nan ba.” Duk da haka, Dawuda ya ci kagarar Sihiyona, Birnin Dawuda.
And the inhabitants of Jebus said unto David, Thou shalt not come in hither, —But David captured the citadel of Zion, the same, is the city of David.
6 Dawuda ya ce, “Duk wanda ya jagoranci yaƙi a kan Yebusiyawa zai zama babban shugaban mayaƙa.” Yowab ɗan Zeruhiya ya fara haurawa, ta haka ya zama shugaba.
And David said, Whosoever smiteth the Jebusites, first, shall become a chief, and a ruler, —So then Joab son of Zeruiah, went up first, and became a chief.
7 Dawuda zauna a kagarar, ta haka aka kira ta Birnin Dawuda.
And David dwelt in the citadel, —for this cause, did they call it, The City of David.
8 Sai ya gina birni kewaye da shi, daga madogaran gini zuwa katangar da take kewaye, yayinda Yowab ya maido da sauran birnin.
And he built the city round about, from Millo even as far as the circuit, —but, Joab, suffered the remainder of the city to live.
9 Dawuda kuwa ya ƙara ƙarfi, domin Ubangiji Maɗaukaki yana tare da shi.
Thus did David wax greater and yet greater, —and, Yahweh of Hosts, was with him.
10 Waɗannan su ne manyan jarumawan Dawuda, su ne, tare da dukan Isra’ila, suka ba wa mulkinsa goyon baya mai ƙarfi da ya kai bisa dukan ƙasar, yadda Ubangiji ya yi alkawari.
Now, these, are the chiefs of the heroes, that pertained to David, who held strongly with him in his kingdom, with all Israel, to make him king, —according to the word of Yahweh, concerning Israel.
11 Ga jerin sunayen jarumawan Dawuda. Yashobeyam wani ɗan Hakmoni, shi ne babban shugaba; ya ɗaga māshinsa a kan mutum ɗari uku, waɗanda ya kashe a ƙarawa guda kawai.
And, this, is the number of the heroes who pertained to David, —Jashobeam son of a Hachmonite, chief of the thirty, the same, brandished his spear over three hundred—slain at one time.
12 Biye da shi, shi ne Eleyazar ɗan Dodo mutumin Aho, ɗaya daga cikin jarumawa uku.
And, after him, was Eleazar son of Dodai, the Ahohite, —he, was among the three heroes;
13 Yana tare da Dawuda a Fas Dammim sa’ad da Filistiyawa suka taru can don yaƙi. A wani wuri inda akwai gona cike da sha’ir, sojoji suka gudu daga Filistiyawa.
he, was with David in Pas-dammim, where, the Philistines, were gathered together to battle, and there was a field-plot full of barley, —and, the people, fled, from before the Philistines;
14 Sai shi da Dawuda suka shiga gonar sha’ir ɗin, suka tsaya ciki don su tsare ta. Suka ragargaza Filistiyawa, Ubangiji kuma ya kawo babban nasara.
so they took their stand in the midst of the plot and rescued it, and smote the Philistines, —and Yahweh wrought a great victory.
15 Wata rana uku cikin manyan mutanen nan talatin suka gangara wurin Dawuda zuwa dutse a kogon Adullam, yayinda ƙungiyar Filistiyawa suke sansani a Kwarin Refayim.
And three of the thirty chiefs went down upon the rock, unto David, into the cave of Adullam, —a host of Philistines, being encamped in the vale of Rephaim.
16 A lokacin Dawuda yana cikin mafaka, sojojin Filistiyawa kuma suna a Betlehem.
Now, David, then was in the stronghold, —and, a garrison of Philistines, then was in Bethlehem.
17 Dawuda ya ji marmarin ruwan sha sai ya ce, “Kash, a ce wani zai sami mini ruwan sha daga rijiya kusa da ƙofar Betlehem mana!”
And David longed, and said—Who will give me to drink of the water, out of the well of Bethlehem, that is within the gate?
18 Sai Ukun suka kutsa kai cikin sansanin Filistiyawa, suka ja ruwa daga rijiyar da take kusa da ƙofar Betlehem suka ɗauko shi suka kawo wa Dawuda. Amma ya ƙi yă sha; a maimako, sai ya zubar da shi a gaban Ubangiji.
And the three brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was within the gate, and bare it, and brought it in unto David, —yet would not David drink it, but poured it out unto Yahweh;
19 Ya ce, “Allah yă sawwaƙe in yi haka, ya kamata in sha jinin waɗannan mutanen da suka yi kasai da rayukansu?” Domin sun yi kasai da rayukansu don su dawo da shi, Dawuda bai sha shi ba. Irin abubuwan da jarumawa ukun nan suka yi ke nan.
and said—Far be it from me, of my God, that I should do this! The blood of these men, shall I drink, with their lives? For, with their lives, have they brought it! So he would not drink it. These things, did the three heroes.
20 Abishai ɗan’uwan Yowab shi ma babba ne cikin Ukun nan. Ya ɗaga māshinsa a kan mutum ɗari uku, waɗanda ya kashe, ya kuma zama sananne kamar Ukun.
And, Abishai brother of Joab—he, was the chief of three, he, having brandished his spear against three hundred—who were slain, —and so, he, had a name among three.
21 Aka ninka girmama shi bisa Ukun, sai ya zama shugaba, ko da yake ba a haɗa shi a cikinsu ba.
Of the three in the second rank, was he honourable, therefore became he their captain, —though, unto the [first] three, did he not attain.
22 Benahiya ɗan Yehohiyada shi ma wani barden yaƙi ne daga Kabzeyel, wanda ya yi manyan abubuwa. Ya bugi gwanayen Mowab biyu. Ya kuma gangara zuwa cikin rami a ranar da aka yi dusar ƙanƙara ya kashe zaki.
Benaiah, son of Jehoiada, son of a man of valour, hero of many a deed, from Kabziel—he, smote the two [sons] of Ariel of Moab, he, also went down and smote a lion in the midst of a pit, in time of snow;
23 Ya kuma kashe wani mutumin Masar mai tsayi ƙafa bakwai da rabi. Ko da yake mutumin Masar yana da māshi kamar sandan masaƙa a hannunsa, Benahiya ya yaƙe shi da kulki. Ya ƙwace māshin daga hannun mutumin Masar ya kuma kashe shi da māshin nan nasa.
he, also smote an Egyptian, a man of [great] stature, five cubits, and, in the hand of the Egyptian, was a spear like a weaver’s beam, so he went down unto him with a staff, —and wrested the spear out of the hand of the Egyptian, and slew him with his spear.
24 Irin abubuwan da Benahiya ɗan Yehohiyada ya yi ke nan; shi ma sananne ne kamar waɗannan jarumawa uku.
These things, did Benaiah son of Jehoiada, so, he, had a name among three heroes.
25 Aka ɗauka shi da bangirma fiye da Talatin nan, amma ba a haɗa shi cikin Ukun ba. Dawuda kuwa ya sa shi yă lura da masu tsaron lafiyarsa.
Among the thirty, lo! honourable, was he, but, unto the [first] three, did he not attain, —howbeit David set him over his council.
26 Jarumawan nan su ne, Asahel ɗan’uwan Yowab, Elhanan ɗan Dodo daga Betlehem,
Now, the heroes of the forces, were, —Asahel, brother of Joab, Elhanan, son of Dodo, of Bethlehem;
27 Shammot mutumin Haror, Helez mutumin Felon,
Shammoth, the Harorite, Helez the Paltite;
28 Ira ɗan Ikkesh daga Tekowa, Abiyezer daga Anatot,
Ira, son of Ikkesh, the Tekoite, Abiezer, the Anathothite;
29 Sibbekai mutumin Husha, Ilai mutumin Aho,
Sibbecai, the Hushathite, Ilai, the Ahohite;
30 Maharai mutumin Netofa, Heled ɗan Ba’ana mutumin Netofa,
Maharai, the Netophathite, Heled, son of Baanah, the Netophathite;
31 Ittai ɗan Ribai daga Gibeya a Benyamin, Benahiya mutumin Firaton,
Ithai, son of Ribai, of Gibeah, of the sons of Benjamin, —Benaiah, the Pirathonite;
32 Hurai daga kogunan Ga’ash, Abiyel mutumin Arba,
Hurai, of the torrents of Gaash, Abiel the Arbathite;
33 Azmawet mutumin Harum, Eliyaba mutumin Sha’albo,
Azmaveth, the Baharumite, Eliahba, the Shaalbonite;
34 ’ya’yan Hashem mutumin Gizon maza, Yonatan ɗan Shageye mutumin Harar,
the sons of Hashem, the Gizonite, Jonathan, son of Shageh, the Hararite;
35 Ahiyam ɗan Sakar mutumin Harar, Elifal ɗan Ur,
Ahiam, son of Sacar, the Hararite, Eliphal, son of Ur;
36 Hefer mutumin Mekerat, Ahiya mutumin Felon,
Hepher, the Mecherathite, Ahijah the Pelonite;
37 Hezro mutumin Karmel, Na’arai ɗan Ezbai,
Hezro, the Carmelite, Naarai, son of Ezbai;
38 Yowel ɗan’uwan Natan, Mibhar ɗan Hagiri,
Joel, brother of Nathan, Mibhar son of Hagri;
39 Zelek mutumin Ammon Naharai Baroti, mai ɗaukar kayan yaƙin Yowab ɗan Zeruhiya,
Zelek, the Ammonite, —Naharai, the Berothite, the armour-bearer of Joab son of Zeruiah;
40 Ira mutumin Itra, Gareb mutumin Itra,
Ira, the Ithrite, Gareb, the Ithrite;
41 Uriya mutumin Hitti Zabad ɗan Alai,
Uriah, the Hittite, Zabad son of Ahlai;
42 Adina ɗan Shiza mutumin Ruben, wanda shi ne babba na mutanen Ruben, kuma talatin suna tare da shi,
Adina, son of Shiza, the Reubenite, a chief of the Reubenites and over the thirty;
43 Hanan ɗan Ma’aka, Yoshafat mutumin Mit,
Hanan, son of Maacah, and Joshaphat, the Mithnite;
44 Uzziya mutumin Ashtarot, Shama da Yehiyel’ya’yan Hotam mutumin Arower maza,
Uzzia, the Ashterathite, —Shama, and Jeiel, sons of Hotham, the Aroerite;
45 Yediyayel ɗan Shimri, ɗan’uwansa Yoha mutumin Tiz,
Jediael, son of Shimri, and Joha, his brother, the Tizite;
46 Eliyel mutumin Ma’aha, Yeribai da Yoshawiya’ya’yan Elna’am maza, Itma mutumin Mowab,
Eliel, the Mahavite, and Jeribai and Joshaviah, sons of Elnaam, —and Ithmah the Moabite;
47 Eliyel, Obed da Ya’asiyel mutumin Mezob.
Eliel, and Obed, and Jaasiel, of Zobah.
