< Zakari 2 >
1 Konsa, Mwen te leve zye m gade, e vwala, te gen yon nonm ak yon lign mezi nan men l.
Then I looked up and saw a man with a measuring line/tape.
2 Konsa mwen te di: “Ki kote ou prale la a?” Li te di mwen: “Pou mezire Jérusalem, pou wè ki lajè li genyen, ak longè li.”
I asked him, “Where are you going?” He replied, “[I am going] to measure Jerusalem, to determine how wide it is and how long it is.”
3 Epi vwala zanj ki t ap pale avèk mwen an te sòti, e yon lòt zanj te vin parèt pou rankontre avè l.
Then the angel who had been talking to me started to leave, and another angel walked toward him.
4 Li te di li: “Kouri pale ak jennonm sa a, pou di l: ‘Jérusalem va vin plen moun tankou vilaj ki san miray, akoz kantite moun ak bèt k ap rete ladann.
That other angel said to him, “Run and tell that young man that [some day] there will be very many people and livestock in Jerusalem, with the result that there will be too many to live inside the city walls; many will [live outside] the walls.
5 Paske Mwen menm’, deklare SENYÈ a: ‘Mwen va devni yon miray dife k ap antoure fi a, e Mwen va laglwa nan mitan l.
And Yahweh says that he [himself] will be [like] [MET] a wall of fire around [the city], and he will be there with his glory.”
6 “‘Vini! Vini! Sove ale kite peyi nò a,’ deklare SENYÈ a: ‘paske Mwen te gaye nou tankou kat van syèl yo,’ deklare SENYÈ a.
Yahweh declares [to the people who were exiled to Babylonia], “Run! Flee from Babylonia [MTY], the country east [of Israel], and flee in all directions from the places where I caused you to be scattered!
7 ‘Vini Sion! Kouri chape poul nou, nou ki rete ak fi a Babylone nan.’
You people [who previously lived in] Jerusalem and who [now] live in Babylon, flee from there!
8 Paske konsa pale SENYÈ dèzame yo: ‘Dèyè glwa pa Li a, Li te voye mwen kont nasyon k ap piyaje nou yo, paske sila ki touche ou a, te touche ponm de zye tèt Li.
The [armies of the] nations that [attacked you and] took away your valuable possessions have attacked those who are very precious to the Commander of the armies of angels [IDM]. So he says this about me: ‘After I have honored him and sent him to [rebuke] the nations,
9 Paske, gade byen, Mwen va souke men M sou yo, e yo va vin piyaj pou sila ki te sèvi yo. Epi konsa, ou va konnen ke se SENYÈ dèzame yo ki te voye Mwen.
[it is as though] I will strike them with my fist, with the result that those who were their slaves will [now] take back their possessions from those who caused them to become slaves.’ And when that happens, you will know that the Commander of the armies of angels is the one who sent me.”
10 Chante ak lajwa e fè kè ou kontan, O fi a Sion an! Paske, gade byen, Mwen ap vini, e Mwen va rete nan mitan nou,’ deklare SENYÈ a.
Yahweh says, “[You people of] Jerusalem [APO], shout and be happy, [because] I will be coming [to you] and I will live among you!”
11 Anpil nasyon va vin jwenn yo ak SENYÈ a nan jou sa a, e va devni pèp Mwen. Epi Mwen va demere nan mitan nou, e nou va konnen ke se SENYÈ dèzame yo ki te voye Mwen kote nou.
At that time, [people of] many nations will be united to Yahweh and will become his people. He will live among [all of] you; and you will know that the Commander of the armies of angels [is the one who] sent me to you.
12 SENYÈ a va posede Juda kon pòsyon pa Li nan peyi sen an, e Li va chwazi Jérusalem ankò.
[The people of] Judah will be a very special part of his sacred country, and Jerusalem will again be the city that he has chosen.
13 Se pou nou fè silans, tout chè, devan SENYÈ a; paske Li gen tan leve nan abitasyon sen Li an.”
Everyone, [everywhere, ] should be silent in the presence of Yahweh, because he [again] will come [down] from the sacred place where he lives in heaven [to do great things for us].
