< Tit 1 >

1 Paul, yon sèvitè-atache nèt a Bondye, e yon apot Jésus Kri, pou lafwa a sila ki te chwazi pa Bondye yo, ak konesans verite ki an akò avèk vi sentete a,
PAULOS, a servant of Aloha, and apostle of Jeshu Meshiha, for the faith of the chosen ones of Aloha, and the knowledge of the truth which is in the fear of Aloha;
2 nan espwa lavi etènèl la, ke Bondye, ki pa kapab bay manti a, te pwomèt depi nan tan ansyen yo. (aiōnios g166)
unto the hope of eternal life, which Aloha the true counselled before the times of the ages, (aiōnios g166)
3 Men nan tan konvenab la, pawòl Li te manifeste, ak mesaj sila a ki te konfye m nan, selon kòmandman a Bondye a, Sovè nou an,
and his word hath revealed in his time by our preaching, which was confided to me by the command of Aloha our Saviour:
4 a Tite vrè pitit mwen nan yon lafwa ke nou pataje ansanm: Lagras ak lapè Bondye, Papa a, ak Kris Jésus, sovè nou an.
To Titos, my true son in the common faith. Grace and peace from Aloha the Father and from our Lord Jeshu Meshiha our Saviour.
5 Pou rezon sa a, mwen te kite ou Crète, pou ou ta kapab mete nan lòd bagay ki potko fèt yo, e chwazi ansyen yo nan chak vil selon jan mwen te dirije ou a.
For this I left thee in Kreta, that those things which were wanting thou mayest rectify, and constitute presbyters in every city as I commanded thee.
6 Kidonk, si yon nonm san repwòch, mari a yon sèl fanm, ki gen pitit ki kwayan, e ki pa akize de dezòd ak rebelyon.
Him who is without blame, and is the husband of one wife, and who hath believing children, who are not vicious nor addicted to intemperance.
7 Paske pastè an tèt la dwe san repwòch, kòm jeran zafè a Bondye, pa awogan, pa fache souvan, pa bwè diven twòp, pa agresif kont lòt, ni renmen lajan twòp;
For a presbyter is bound to be without blame, as the steward of Aloha; he shall not be led by the will of self, nor be irascible, nor a transgressor over wine, neither shall his hand be hasty to strike, nor shall he be a lover of sordid gains.
8 men emab, renmen sa ki bon, rezonab, jis, devwe, gen kontwòl tèt li,
But he shall be a lover of guests, and a lover of the good, and be chaste, and equitable, and holy, and withholding himself from lusts;
9 ki kenbe fèm a pawòl lafwa a ki gen akò avèk ansèyman an, pou li kapab egzòte nan bon doktrin nan, e demanti sila ki kontredi l yo.
and careful over the doctrine of the word of faith, that he may be able also to comfort by his teaching the healthy, and to reprove those who are contentious.
10 Paske gen anpil moun rebèl moun k ap pale pawòl anven ak moun k ap twonpe moun, sitou sila sikonsizyon yo,
For there are many who are not in subjection, and whose words are vain, and make the minds of men to err, especially those of the circumcision,
11 ki dwe rete an silans paske y ap boulvèse tout kay yo nèt, nan enstwi bagay ke yo pa ta dwe enstwi, pou koz a kòb ki sal.
those, whose mouths it behoves to stop. Many houses they destroy, and teach what they ought not, for the sake of filthy gain.
12 Youn nan yo, yon pwofèt de pèp yo menm te di: “Moun Crète yo se toujou mantè yo ye, bèt mechan, parese ki manje twòp”.
One of them, a prophet of their own, hath said, The sons of Kreta are always liars, evil beasts, and lazy bellies.
13 Temwayaj sa a vrè. Pou rezon sa a repwoche yo sevèman pou yo kapab vin solid nan lafwa,
And true is this testimony. Wherefore reprove them severely, that they may be sound in the faith,
14 pa nan prete atansyon a vye istwa Jwif yo, ak kòmandman a lèzòm ki vire kite verite a.
nor cast themselves to the fables of the Jihudoyee, and to the mandates of men who hate the truth.
15 Pou sila ki san tach la, tout bagay san tach, men pou sila ki souye e ki pa kwè yo, nanpwen anyen ki san tach, men lespri yo ak konsyans yo deja souye.
For every thing is pure to the pure; but to those who are polluted and unfaithful nothing is pure; but their understanding and their conscience are polluted.
16 Yo di yo konnen Bondye, men ak zèv pa yo, yo nye Li. Konsa, yo vin detestab, dezobeyisan, e san valè pou okenn bon zèv.
And they profess to know Aloha, but in their works they deny him, and are abominable and disobedient, and reprobate to every good work.
