< Sòm 92 >
1 Yon Sòm. Yon chan pou jou Saba a Li bon pou bay lwanj a SENYÈ a, pou chante lwanj a non Ou, O Pi Wo a,
Yahweh, it is good for people to thank you and to sing to praise you [MTY] who are greater than any other god.
2 pou deklare lanmou dous Ou nan maten avèk fidelite Ou nan lannwit,
It is good to proclaim every morning that you faithfully love us, and each night [to sing songs that] declare that you always do what you have promised to do,
3 avèk lenstriman a kòd e avèk ap, avèk mizik ki retanti sou lir.
accompanied by [musicians playing] harps that have ten strings, and by the sounds made by a lyre.
4 Paske Ou menm, O SENYÈ, te fè m kontan avèk sa Ou te fè a. Mwen va chante chan viktwa a akoz zèv men Ou yo.
Yahweh, you have caused me to be glad; I sing joyfully because of what you [SYN] have done.
5 A la zèv Ou yo gran, O SENYÈ! Panse Ou yo byen pwofon.
Yahweh, the things that you do are great! But it is difficult for us to understand [all] that you think.
6 Yon nonm ensanse pa gen konesans, ni yon nonm bèt pa konprann sa:
There are things [that you do] that foolish people cannot know about, things that stupid people cannot understand.
7 Ke lè mechan yo te pouse tankou zèb la, e tout sa ki fè inikite t ap byen reyisi yo, se te pou yo ta kapab detwi jis pou tout tan.
They do not understand that although the number of wicked [people] increases [like blades of] grass do [SIM], and they prosper, they will be completely destroyed.
8 Men Ou menm O SENYÈ, Ou an wo jis pou tout tan.
But Yahweh, you [will] exalted/be honored/rule) forever.
9 Paske gade byen, lènmi Ou yo, O SENYÈ, paske gade byen, lènmi Ou yo va peri. Tout moun ki fè inikite yo va gaye nèt.
Yahweh, your enemies will [certainly] die, and those who do wicked things will be defeated/scattered.
10 Men Ou te fè kòn mwen an leve wo tankou bèf mawon. Mwen te onksyone avèk lwil nèf.
But you have caused me to be as strong [MTY] as [SIM] a wild ox; you have caused me to be very joyful [MTY].
11 Epi zye mwen vin gade avèk kè kontan malfektè ki leve kont mwen yo.
I [SYN] have seen you defeat my enemies; d I have heard those evil men wail/scream while they were being slaughtered.
12 Moun dwat la va fleri tankou palmis. Li va grandi tankou pye sèd nan Liban.
But righteous [people] will prosper like [SIM] palm trees that grow well, or like [SIM] cedar [trees] that grow in Lebanon.
13 Plante lakay SENYÈ a, yo va fleri tankou palmis. Yo va fleri nan lakou kay Bondye nou an.
[They are like the trees] that grow near the temple of Yahweh [in Jerusalem], those trees that are close to the courtyard of the temple of our God.
14 Yo va bay fwi toujou lè yo vin vye. Yo va plen ak dlo bwa vèt. Y ap rete vèt nèt.
[Even] when righteous people become old, they do many things [IDM] [that please God]. They remain strong and full of energy, [like trees that] [MET] remain full of sap.
15 Konsa, yo deklare ke SENYÈ a toujou dwat. Li se wòch mwen, e nanpwen anyen ki pa dwat nan Li.
That shows that Yahweh is just; he is [like a huge] rock [under which I am safe/protected], and he never does anything that is wicked/wrong.
