< Sòm 79 >

1 Yon Sòm Asaph O Bondye, nasyon yo te anvayi eritaj Ou a. Yo te souye sen tanp Ou an. Yo te fè Jérusalem kouche nan yon pil ranblè.
A Melody of Asaph. O God, nations, Have entered thine inheritance, Have profaned thy holy temple, —Have laid Jerusalem in heaps:
2 Yo te bay kadav sèvitè Ou yo kon manje pou zwazo syèl yo. Chè a fidèl Ou yo, yo fin bay a bèt latè yo.
They have given, The dead bodies of thy servants, As food for the birds of the heavens, The flesh of thy men of lovingkindness, Unto the wild beast of the earth:
3 Yo te vide san yo tankou dlo toupatou Jérusalem. Pa t genyen moun ki pou antere yo.
They have poured out their blood like water, Round about Jerusalem, With none to bury.
4 Nou gen tan vin yon repwòch pou vwazen nou yo, Yon rizib ak yon betiz pou (sila) ki antoure nou yo.
We have become, A reproach to our neighbours, —A mockery and a derision, to them who are round about us.
5 Jiskilè, O SENYÈ? Èske Ou va rete fache nèt? Èske jalouzi Ou va brile tankou dife tout tan?
How long, O Yahweh, wilt thou be angry utterly? Shall thy jealousy, burn like fire?
6 Vide kòlè Ou sou nasyon ki pa rekonèt Ou yo, ak sou wayòm yo ki pa rele non Ou yo.
Pour out thy wrath, Upon the nations that have not known thee—and, Upon the kingdoms that, on thy Name, have not called.
7 Paske yo te devore Jacob. Yo te devaste abitasyon Li an.
For he hath devoured Jacob, —And, his dwelling-place, have they laid waste.
8 Pa sonje inikite a papa zansèt nou yo pou kenbe kont nou. Kite mizerikòd Ou vini vit rankontre nou, paske nou fin rive ba nèt.
Do not remember against us former iniquities, —Haste thee, let thy compassions, come to meet us, For we have been brought very low!
9 Fè nou sekou, O Bondye sali nou an, pou glwa a non Ou. Delivre nou e padone peche nou yo, pou koz a non Ou.
Help us, O God of our salvation, on account of the glory of thy Name, —Rescue us then, and put a propitiatory-covering over our sins, For the sake of thy Name.
10 Poukisa nasyon yo ta di: “Kote Bondye yo ye?” Kite li vin rekonèt pami nasyon yo devan zye nou, ke vanjans pou san sèvitè Ou yo ap vèse.
Wherefore should the nations say—Where is their God? Let him be known among the nations before our eyes! [Yea! By] the avenging of the blood of thy servants which hath been shed!
11 Kite vwa prizonyè k ap plenyen yo rive devan Ou. Selon grandè fòs Ou, prezève (sila) ki kondane a lamò.
Let the groaning of the prisoner, come in before thee, —According to the greatness of thine arm, Set free them who are appointed to death.
12 Fè remet a vwazen nou yo, sèt fwa antre nan vant yo, repwòch avèk (sila) yo te repwoche Ou a, O SENYÈ.
Return, therefore, unto our neighbours—Sevenfold, into their own bosom, The reproach wherewith they have reproached thee, O Adonay!
13 Konsa nou menm, pèp Ou a, ak mouton a patiraj Ou a, Va bay Ou remèsiman jis pou tout tan. A tout jenerasyon yo, nou va pale lwanj Ou.
So, we, thy people, and the sheep of thy pasture, will give thanks unto thee, to times age-abiding, —To generation after generation, will we recount thy praise.
