1 Pou direktè koral la; sou enstriman ak kòd Yon Sòm Asaph, yon Chanson Bondye byen rekonèt nan Juda. Non Li gran an Israël.

To the Chief Musician. With Stringed Instruments. A Melody of Asaph, a Song. God is, known in Judah, In Israel, great is his Name;

2 Tabènak Li a nan Salem. Abitasyon Li an osi nan Sion.

Now hath come into Salem, his pavilion, And his dwelling-place into Zion.

3 La, Li te kase flèch dife yo, boukliye ak nepe ak zam lagè yo.

There, hath he broken in pieces the arrows of the bow, shield and sword, and battle. (Selah)

4 Ou manyifik, pi majeste pase mòn ak bèt lachas yo.

Enveloped in light, thou, art more majestic than the mountains of prey.

5 (Sila) ak gran kouraj yo te piyaje, yo te fonse tonbe nan dòmi mò a. Okenn nan gèrye yo ka sèvi men yo.

The valiant of heart have become a spoil, They have slumbered their sleep, And none of the men of might have found their hands.

6 Nan repwòch Ou, O Bondye Jacob, ni chevalye yo ak cheval la te tonbe nan yon pwofon somèy.

At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, Stunned are the horsemen.

7 Ou menm, Ou merite lakrent. Se kilès ki kab kanpe nan prezans Ou lè Ou fache?

As for thee, to be feared thou art! Who then shall stand before thee, because of the power of thine anger?

8 Ou te fè jijman tande soti nan syèl la. Latè te krent, e te kanpe rete an plas

Out of the heavens, didst thou cause judgment to be heard, Earth, feared and was still:

9 lè Bondye te leve nan jijman an, pou sove tout enb sou latè yo. Tan

When God rose up to judgment, To save all the oppressed of the earth. (Selah)

10 Paske kòlè a lòm va bay Ou glwa. Se retay kòlè pa W, ki sispann fè mal.

For the multitude of mankind shall give thanks unto thee, The remainder of the multitude, shall keep holy festival unto thee.

11 Fè ve Ou yo a SENYÈ a, Bondye Ou a e akonpli yo. Kite tout (sila) ki antoure Li yo mennen don a (Sila) ki merite lakrent lan.

Vow and pay, unto Yahweh your God, —Let, all who are round about him, bear along a gift unto him who is to be revered.

12 Li va koupe retire nanm a prens yo. Wa latè yo gen lakrent Li.

He cutteth off the spirit of nobles, he is of reverend majesty to the kings of the earth.
