< Sòm 73 >
1 Yon Sòm Asaph Anverite, Bondye bon a Israël, a (sila) avèk kè ki san tach yo!
A Melody of Asaph. Nothing but good, is God, Unto Israel, Unto the pure in heart.
2 Men pou mwen, pye m te prèt pou glise tonbe, Pa m yo te prèt pou chape.
But, as for me, —My feet had, almost stumbled, My steps had, well-nigh slipped;
3 Paske mwen te gen anvi awogan yo, lè m te wè jan mechan yo te byen reyisi.
For I was envious of the boasters, At the prosperity of the lawless, used I to look.
4 Paske nan lanmò yo, nanpwen soufrans e kò yo byen gra.
For they have no pangs in their death, And vigorous is their body;
5 Yo pa nan pwoblèm tankou lòt moun, ni yo pa toumante tankou limanite.
Of the toil of weak mortals, have they none, Nor, with the sons of earth, are they hard smitten.
6 Pou sa, yo pote ògèy tankou yon bèl kolye. Abiman vyolans kouvri kon yon bèl rad.
For this cause, doth arrogance deck them as a neck-chain, And a garment of wrong is their attire;
7 Zye yo anfle nan mitan grès yo. Imajinasyon a kè yo dechennen nèt.
Their iniquity, hath proceeded from fatness, They have surpassed the imaginations of the heart;
8 Yo giyonnen moun. Ak mechanste, yo pale afè oprime lòt moun. Yo pale konsi se anwo sa soti.
They mock, and wickedly command oppression, From on high, they command;
9 Nan bouch yo rive nan syèl la, pandan lang yo fè gwo pwomnad sou tout latè.
They have set, in the heavens, their mouth, And, their tongue, marcheth through the earth.
10 Akoz sa a, pèp pa yo retounen kote yo, e yo kontinye bwè gran sous yo nèt.
Therefore must his people return thither, And, the waters of abundance, are drained by them;
11 Yo di: “Kòman Bondye konnen? Eske gen konesans kote Pi Wo a?”
And they say—How doth GOD know? And is there knowledge in the Most High?
12 Gade byen, (sila) yo se mechan yo ye. Konsi, toujou alèz, yo te agrandi richès yo.
Lo! these, are the lawless, Who are secure for an age, They have attained unto wealth.
13 Anverite, se an ven mwen te kenbe kè m san tach, ak lave men m nan inosans.
Altogether in vain, Have I cleansed my heart, And bathed in pureness, my hands;
14 Paske mwen te twouble tout lajounen e te resevwa chatiman chak maten.
And yet been smitten all the day, And been rebuked morning by morning!
15 Si mwen te di: “Mwen va pale konsa,” gade byen, mwen ta trayi jenerasyon pitit Ou yo.
If I had thought, I will relate it thus, Lo! the circle of thy sons, had I betrayed.
16 Lè m te reflechi pou konprann sa, zye m pa t wè klè menm.
When I reasoned, that I might understand this, A vexation, it was in mine eyes:
17 Men jis lè m te antre nan sanktiyè Bondye a, mwen te vin konprann jan yo ta fini.
Until I could enter the holy places of God, —Could give heed to their hereafter: —
18 Anverite, Ou te mete yo kote ki glise anpil. Ou te jete yo ba jiskaske yo fini nèt.
Surely, in slippery places, dost thou set them, —Thou hast suffered them to fall into places of danger.
19 Men kijan yo va detwi nan yon enstan! Y ap bale nèt ale avèk gran perèz kap rive sibitman!
How have they become desolate, as in a moment! They have ceased—come to an end, by reason of calamities.
20 Tankou yon rèv lè moun leve, O SENYÈ, lè Ou leve, Ou va meprize pwòp fòm yo. Ou va rayi rèv de lespri yo.
As the dream of him that waketh, O my Lord! when rousing thyself up, their shadowy being, wilt thou despise.
21 Lè kè m te vin anmè, e kè m te pike anndan m,
But my heart had grown embittered, And, in my reins, had I received wounds;
22 alò, mwen te vin ensansib e san bon konprann. Mwen te tankou yon bèt devan Ou.
But, I, was brutish, and could not perceive, Like the beasts, had I become before thee.
23 Sepandan, mwen avè W tout tan. Ou te kenbe men dwat mwen.
Nevertheless, I, am continually before thee, Thou hast taken hold of my right hand;
24 Avèk konsèy Ou, Ou va gide mwen, e apre, resevwa mwen nan laglwa.
By thy counsel, wilt thou guide me, And, afterwards, unto glory, wilt thou take me.
25 Se kilès mwen gen nan syèl la sof ke Ou? Epi anplis ke Ou, mwen pa vle anyen sou latè.
Whom have I in the heavens? And, compared with thee, there is nothing I desire on earth.
26 Chè mwen avèk kè mwen kab fè fayit, men Bondye se fòs kè mwen ak pòsyon mwen jis pou tout tan.
Failed have my flesh and my heart, The rock of my heart—and my portion, is God unto times age-abiding.
27 Paske gade byen, (sila) ki lwen yo va peri. Ou te detwi tout (sila) ki pa t fidèl a Ou menm yo.
For lo! they who are far from thee, shall perish, Thou hast put an end to every one who wandered unchastely from thee.
28 Men pou mwen, rete pre Bondye se bonte mwen. Mwen te fè Senyè a, BONDYE a, refij mwen, Pou m kab pale tout zèv Ou yo.
But, as for me, the drawing near of God, is my blessedness, —I have made, of My Lord Yahweh, my refuge, —That I may recount all thy works.
