< Sòm 72 >
1 Yon Sòm a Salomon Bay a wa a sajès lajistis Ou, O Bondye, ak ladwati Ou a fis a wa a.
Solomon’s. O God! thy justice, give, unto the king, And thy righteousness, unto the son of a king;
2 Li va jije pèp Ou a avèk ladwati, e aflije Ou yo, avèk jistis.
May he judge, Thy people with righteousness; And thine oppressed ones with justice;
3 Mòn yo va pote lapè a pèp la, e kolin yo, fwi ladwati a.
May the mountains bring peace to the people, And the hills [be laden] with righteousness;
4 Li va jije malere a pèp la. Li va fè sekou pou pitit a malere yo, e kraze opresè a an mòso.
May he, Vindicate the oppressed of the people, Bring deliverance to the children of the needy, and, Crush the oppressor.
5 Yo va krent Ou pou tout tan ke solèy la klere ak tout tan ke genyen lalin, pandan tout jenerasyon yo.
Let men revere thee, With the sun, And in presence of the moon, Unto the remotest generation.
6 Li va desann tankou lapli sou chan zèb fenk koupe yo, tankou farinaj ki wouze tè a.
Let him come down, Like rain on fields to be mown, Like myriad drops on land to be reaped.
7 Nan jou li yo, moun ladwati yo va fleri, avèk lapè an abondans jiskaske lalin nan pa wè ankò.
May righteousness, in his days, blossom forth, And abundance of peace, till there be no moon.
8 Anplis, l ap renye jiskaske yon lanmè rive nan yon lòt lanmè a, e soti nan Rivyè a jis rive nan dènye pwent tè a.
So let him have dominion, From sea to sea, And from the River ["Euphrates"] unto the ends of the earth;
9 Pèp ki abite nan dezè a va bese devan l, e lènmi li yo va niche pousyè a.
Before him, let the men of the desert kneel, But, as for his foes, the dust, let them lick;
10 Wa a Tarsis yo avèk lil yo va pote kado. Wa a Séba avèk Saba yo ap ofri kado.
The kings of Tarshish and of the Coastlands, A gift, let them render, The kings of Sheba and Seba, A present, let them bring;
11 Konsa, tout wa yo va bese ba devan l, pou tout nasyon yo sèvi li.
Yea let all kings, bow down unto him, Let, all nations, serve him;
12 Paske li va delivre malere a lè l kriye sekou; aflije a tou, lè l san soutyen an.
Because he Rescueth, The needy from the rich, The oppressed, who hath no helper;
13 Li va gen mizerikòd sou malere a avèk endijan an. Konsa, lavi a pòv yo, li va sove.
He Pitieth the weak and the needy, And, the lives of the needy, he Saveth:
14 Li va rachte lavi yo soti nan opresyon avèk vyolans, e san yo va chè nan zye Li.
From extortion, and, violence, he Redeemeth their life, And precious is their blood in his sight.
15 Konsa, li va viv, e lò a Séba va bay a li menm. Moun va priye pou li san rete. Yo va beni li tout lajounen.
Let him live, then! And be there given unto him of the gold of Sheba, —Let prayer also be offered for him continually, All the day, let him be blessed.
16 Va genyen anpil sereyal sou tout kolin peye a, fwi li yo k ap vannen nan van tankou pye sèd a Liban yo. Sa ki nan vil yo va fleri tankou vèdi latè.
May there be an abundance of corn in the earth, in the top of the mountains, —Let the fruit thereof, wave like Lebanon, And they of the city bloom like the fresh shoots of the earth.
17 Non li va dire jis pou tout tan. Non li va la toutotan solèy la ap briye a. Tout lezòm va beni pa li. Tout nasyon yo va rele li beni.
May his Name be age-abiding, In the presence of the sun, let his Name flourish, —And may all the families of the ground bless themselves in him, All nations, pronounce him happy!
18 Beni se SENYÈ Bondye a, Bondye Israël la! Li sèl ki fè mèvèy!
Blessed be Yahweh God, the God of Israel, —Who doeth wondrous things by himself alone;
19 Beni se non laglwa Li jis pou tout tan! Ke tout tè a kapab ranpli ak glwa Li! Amen e amen.
And blessed be his glorious Name, unto times age-abiding, —And filled with his glory be all the earth, Amen and Amen!
20 Priyè yo a David, fis la a Jesse fini.
Ended are the prayers of David, son of Jesse.
