1 Yon Sòm David lè pwofèt la, Nathan te rive kote li lè l te fin ale kote Bath-Schéba. Fè m gras, O Bondye, selon lanmou dous Ou a. Selon grandè a mizerikòd ou, efase transgresyon mwen yo.
Have gracious pity on me, God, according to your chesed ·loving-kindness·. According to the multitude of your tender rachamim ·merciful loves·, blot out my rebellious breaches of relationships.
2 Lave m nèt de inikite mwen yo e netwaye m de peche mwen an.
Wash me thoroughly from my depravity (moral evil). Cleanse me from my habitual sin ·missing the mark·.
3 Paske mwen konnen transgresyon mwen yo. Peche mwen yo devan m tout tan.
For I know my rebellious breaches of relationships. My habitual sin ·missing the mark· is constantly before me.
4 Kont Ou, Ou menm sèlman, mwen te peche, e te fè mal devan zye Ou. Akoz sa, Ou jis lè Ou pale, e san tò lè Ou jije.
Against you, and you only, have I sinned ·deviated (from the standard goal)·, and done that which is evil in your sight; that you may be proved right when you speak, and justified when you judge.
5 Gade byen, mwen te fèt nan inikite, e se nan peche manman m te vin ansent mwen.
Behold, I was born in depravity (moral evil). In crime deserving peanlty, sin ·missing the goal· my mother conceived me.
6 Men vwala, Ou vle verite a menm nan pati anndan m nèt. Nan pati kache anndan m, Ou va fè m konnen sajès.
Behold, you desire truth in the inward parts. You teach me wisdom in the inmost place.
7 Pirifye m ak izòp e mwen va pwòp. Lave mwen e mwen va pi blan ke lanèj.
Cleanse sin ·err (the standard goal)· from me with hyssop, and I will be clean. Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
8 Fè m tande lajwa avèk kè kontan, pou zo ke Ou te kase yo, vin rejwi.
Let me sh'ma ·hear obey· joy and gladness, That the bones which you have broken may rejoice.
9 Kache figi Ou de peche m yo. Efase tout inikite mwen yo.
Hide your face from my crimes deserving peanlty, sins ·missing the goal·, and blot out all of my depravities (moral evils).
10 Kreye nan mwen yon kè pwòp, O SENYÈ, epi refè yon lespri ki dwat anndan m.
Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me.
11 Pa jete mwen lwen prezans Ou e pa retire Lespri Sen Ou an sou mwen.
Don’t throw me from your presence, and don’t take your Ruach Kodesh [Holy Spirit, Breath] from me.
12 Restore nan mwen lajwa sali Ou a. Ranfòse m avèk yon lespri bòn volonte.
Restore to me the joy of your yesha' ·salvation·. Uphold me with a willing spirit.
13 Konsa, mwen va enstwi transgresè yo chemen Ou yo, e pechè yo va konvèti a Ou menm.
Then I will teach the rebellious who break away from authority thus breaking relationship, teach them your ways. People who sin ·intentionally miss the mark goal· shall be converted to you.
14 Delivre mwen de koupabilite san vèse a, O Bondye, Bondye a sali mwen an. Konsa, lang mwen va chante avèk jwa selon ladwati a Ou menm nan.
Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, the God of my salvation. My tongue shall sing aloud of your righteousness.
15 O Mèt mwen an, ouvri lèv mwen pou m kab deklare lwanj Ou.
Adonai, open my lips. My mouth shall declare your tehilah ·praise song·.
16 Paske Ou pa pran plezi nan sakrifis. Otreman, mwen ta bay li. Ofrann brile yo pa fè Ou kontan.
For you don’t delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering.
17 Sakrifis a Bondye yo se yon espri ki kraze. Yon kè brize e ki repantan, O Bondye, Ou p ap meprize l.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.
18 Avèk bonte Ou, fè byen pou Sion. Bati miray a Jérusalem yo.
Do well in your good pleasure to Zion [Mountain ridge, Marking]. Build the walls of Jerusalem [City of peace].
19 Konsa, Ou va rejwi nan sakrifis ladwati yo, nan ofrann brile avèk ofrann brile nèt yo. Konsa, jenn towo yo va ofri sou lotèl Ou a.
Then you will delight in the sacrifices of righteousness, in burnt offerings and in whole burnt offerings. Then they will offer bulls on your altar.
