1 Pou direktè koral la; Yon Sòm David, sèvitè SENYÈ a Se Peche ki pale nan fon kè a lòm ki san Bondye. Nanpwen krent Bondye devan zye l.
[Wicked people continually desire to] sin. They consider [IDM] that they do not need to revere God.
2 Jan li kontan ak pwòp tèt li, li pa janm wè pwop peche pa l la.
Because they are very proud, they do not think that God will discover their sins and condemn them (OR, they do not think about their sins and hate themselves for it).
3 Pawòl a bouch li se mechanste avèk manti. Li fè yon chemen ki pa bon.
[Everything] that they say is deceitful and full of lies; they no longer do what is good and are no longer wise.
4 Sou kabann li, li fè plan mechan; Li antre nan yon wout ki p ap sòti byen; Li pa rayi mal.
While they are lying on their beds, they plan to do things to harm [others]; they are determined to do things that are not good, and they never refuse [to do what is] evil.
5 Lanmou dous Ou, O SENYÈ, rive jis nan syèl yo, fidelite Ou nan syèl la.
Yahweh, your faithful love for us reaches as high as the heavens, you faithfully [do what you have promised]; [it is as though your doing that] extends up to the clouds.
6 Ladwati Ou se tankou mòn Bondye yo, ejijman Ou yo tankou yon gran pwofondè. O SENYÈ, Ou prezève ni lòm, ni bèt.
Your righteous behavior is [as permanent as] the highest mountains [MET], your acting justly [will continue as long as] the deepest oceans [exist]. You take care of people and you take care of animals.
7 Lanmou dous Ou chè, O Bondye! Pitit a lòm yo pran azil anba lonbraj zèl Ou.
God, your faithful love for us is very precious. You protect us like birds protect their baby birds under their wings [MET].
8 Yo bwè jiskaske yo vin plen an abondans lakay Ou. Konsa, Ou bay yo bwè nan rivyè plezi Ou yo.
You provide for us plenty of food from the abundant supply [IDM] that you have; your great blessings for us [flow] like a river.
9 Paske avèk Ou, se fontèn dlo lavi a. Nan limyè pa Ou a, nou wè limyè.
You are the one who causes everything to live; your light is what enables us to see.
10 O bay toujou lanmou dous Ou a pou (sila) ki konnen Ou yo, ak ladwati Ou pou (sila) ki dwat nan kè yo.
Continue to faithfully love those who have experienced a relationship with you, and bless those who act righteously/justly.
11 Pa kite pye ògèy vini sou mwen, ni pa kite men a mechan yo chase mwen ale.
Do not allow proud people [SYN] to attack me, or allow wicked people to chase me away.
12 Se la (sila) k ap fè inikite yo gen tan fin tonbe. Yo te peze desann ak fòs, e yo p ap kab leve ankò.
Look where evil people have fallen on the ground, defeated; they were thrown down, and they will never rise again.
