< Sòm 137 >

1 Bò rivyè a Babylone yo, se la nou te chita. Nou te kriye, lè nou te sonje Sion.
By the rivers of Babylon we sat and wept when we remembered Zion.
2 Sou pye sikrèn nan mitan li an, nou te pandye ap nou yo.
There on the willows we hung our harps,
3 Paske la, ravisè nou yo te mande nou chante pou yo, e bouwo nou yo ak gwo kè kontan, t ap di: “Chante pou nou youn nan chanson Sion yo.”
for there our captors requested a song; our tormentors demanded songs of joy: “Sing us a song of Zion.”
4 Kijan pou nou ta chante chan SENYÈ a nan yon peyi etranje?
How can we sing a song of the LORD in a foreign land?
5 Si mwen ta bliye ou, O Jérusalem, kite men dwat mwen bliye kapasite li.
If I forget you, O Jerusalem, may my right hand cease to function.
6 Ke lang mwen kole rèd anlè bouch mwen, Si m pa ta sonje ou, si m pa ta leve Jérusalem wo, pi wo ke pi gwo plezi m yo.
May my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth if I do not remember you, if I do not exalt Jerusalem as my greatest joy!
7 Sonje, O SENYÈ, kont fis a Édom yo, jou a Jérusalem nan, ke yo te di: “Raze l nèt! Raze l jis rive nan fondasyon li.”
Remember, O LORD, the sons of Edom on the day Jerusalem fell: “Destroy it,” they said, “tear it down to its foundations!”
8 O fi a Babylone nan, Ou menm ki te devaste nou an, A la beni (sila) ki rekonpanse ou ak menm rekonpans ke ou te rekonpanse nou an va beni!
O Daughter of Babylon, doomed to destruction, blessed is he who repays you as you have done to us.
9 A la beni (sila) ki sezi pitit ou yo, e ki kraze yo nan wòch la va beni!
Blessed is he who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks.
