1 Yon Sòm pou monte vè tanp lan. Yon Sòm David. Mwen te kontan lè yo te di mwen, “Annou ale lakay SENYÈ a.”

A Song of Ascents. David’s. I was glad, when they were saying unto me, Unto the house of Yahweh, let us go!

2 Pye nou kanpe anndan pòtay ou yo, O Jérusalem!

Standing are our feet, within thy gates, O Jerusalem!

3 Jérusalem, ki bati kon yon vil ki kole dyanm ansanm,

Jerusalem! that hath been builded, A true city, all joined together as one:

4 sou (sila) tribi yo konn monte, menm tribi a SENYÈ yo, yon òdonans pou Israël, pou bay remèsiman a non SENYÈ a.

Whither have come up the tribes, The tribes of Yah, A testimony to Israel, To give thanks unto the Name of Yahweh:

5 Paske la, twòn yo te plase pou jijman, twòn lakay David yo.

For there are set—Thrones for justice, Thrones for the house David.

6 Priye pou lapè Jérusalem. (Sila) ki renmen ou yo va pwospere.

Ask ye for the peace of Jerusalem, They shall prosper, who love thee!

7 Ke lapè kapab anndan miray ou yo, e pwosperite nan palè ou yo.

Peace be within thy walls, prosperity within thy palaces:

8 Pou koz a frè m yo ak zanmi mwen yo, m ap di koulye a, “Ke lapè anndan ou”.

For the sake of my brethren and friends, Oh, might I speak [saying], Peace be within thee!

9 Pou koz a kay SENYÈ a, Bondye nou an, mwen va chache byen ou.

For the sake of the house of Yahweh our God, will I seek blessing for thee.
