< Sòm 105 >

1 O bay remèsiman a SENYÈ a! Rele non Li! Fè zèv Li yo rekonèt pami pèp yo.
O give thanks unto the Lord; call on his name: make known among the people his deeds.
2 Chante a Li menm. Chante lwanj a Li. Pale sou tout mèvèy Li yo.
Sing unto, him, sing praises unto him: speak of all his wonderful works.
3 Bay non Li glwa! Kite kè a (sila) ki chache SENYÈ yo vin kontan.
Glorify yourselves in his holy name: let the heart of those rejoice that seek the Lord.
4 Chache SENYÈ a ak fòs Li. Chache fas Li san rete.
Inquire after the Lord and his strength: seek his presence evermore.
5 Sonje mèvèy ke Li te fè yo, mirak Li yo avèk jijman ke bouch Li te pale yo.
Remember his wonderful works which he hath done; his tokens, and the decrees of his mouth;
6 O jèm Abraham, sèvitè Li a, O fis Jacob la, (sila) ke Li te chwazi yo!
O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob, his elect.
7 Li se SENYÈ a, Bondye nou an. Jijman Li yo nan tout latè.
He is the Lord our God: over all the earth are his decrees.
8 Li te sonje akò Li a jis pou tout tan, pawòl ke Li te pase lòd bay pandan mil jenerasyon.
He remembereth his covenant for ever, the word which he hath commanded, to the thousandth generation.
9 Akò ke Li te fè avèk Abraham nan, ak sèman ke Li te fè avèk Isaac la.
Which he covenanted with Abraham; and his oath unto Isaac;
10 Li te konfime li a Jacob kon yon règleman, a Israël kon yon akò ki la pou tout tan.
And which he established unto Jacob as a statute, unto Israel as an everlasting covenant:
11 Konsa Li te di: “A ou menm, Mwen va bay peyi Canaan kon pòsyon eritaj ou,”
Saying, “Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, as the portion of your inheritance.”
12 Sa te fèt lè se te sèlman kèk grenn moun ke yo te ye, pa anpil menm, mele ak moun etranje yo ladann l.
When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it;
13 Yo t ap mache toupatou soti nan yon nasyon pou rive nan yon lòt, soti nan yon wayòm pou rive kote yon lòt pèp.
And when they wandered from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people:
14 Li pa t kite pèsòn peze yo. Wi, Li te repwoche wa yo pou koz a yo menm:
He suffered no man to oppress them; yea, he reproved kings for their sake;
15 “Pa touche onksyone mwen yo! Pa fè pwofèt Mwen yo okenn mal!”
[Saying, ] “Touch not my anointed, and do my prophets no harm,”—
16 Li te rele gwo grangou rive nan peyi a. Li te kraze sous pen an nèt.
And he called for a famine over the land; every staff of bread he broke.
17 Li te voye yon nonm devan yo, Joseph ki te vann kon esklav.
He sent a man before them; for a servant was Joseph sold;
18 Yo te aflije pye li ak chenn. Joseph, pou kont li, te kouche nan fè yo,
They forced into fetters his feet; in iron was his body put:
19 jiskaske pawòl li te vin acheve. Pawòl SENYÈ a te fè l kanpe janm.
Until the time that his word came to pass, [when] the saying of the Lord had purified him.
20 Wa a te voye lage li. Dirijan a pèp la menm, te bay li libète.
The king sent and unfettered him; the ruler of people, and let him go free.
21 Li te fè li mèt lakay li ak chèf sou tout byen li yo,
He appointed him lord of his house, and ruler of all his possession:
22 pou mete prens li yo nan prizon lè l te pito, pou l te kab enstwi ansyen sa yo sajès.
That he might bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his ancients wisdom.
23 Israël osi te rive an Égypte. Konsa Jacob te vin demere nan peyi Cham nan.
Then came Israel into Egypt, and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.
24 SENYÈ a te fè pèp pa Li vin peple anpil. Li te fè yo vin pifò ke advèsè yo.
And he increased his people greatly, and made them stronger than their adversaries.
25 Li te vire kè yo pou yo rayi pèp Li a, pou yo aji ak gwo mechanste avèk sèvitè Li yo.
He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal subtilely with his servants.
26 Li te voye Moïse, sèvitè Li a, avèk Aaron ke Li te chwazi.
He sent Moses his servant, Aaron also whom he had made choice of.
27 Yo te fè zèv mèvèy Li yo pami yo, avèk mirak nan peyi Cham yo.
They displayed among them his effective signs, and wonders in the land of Ham.
28 Li te voye tenèb e te fè l fènwa. Epi yo pa t fè rebèl kont pawòl Li yo.
He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word.
29 Li te fè dlo yo devni san e te fè pwason yo mouri.
He changed their waters into blood, and slew their fish.
30 Peyi yo te ranvaye avèk krapo, menm jis rive nan chanm a wa yo.
Their land brought forth frogs in abundance, in the very chambers of their kings.
31 Li te pale e te vin rive yon epidemi mouch yo, ak vèmin nan tout teritwa yo.
He spoke, and there came various wild beasts, lice also within all their boundary.
32 Li te bay yo lagrèl pou lapli, avèk dife brile nan peyi yo.
He gave them as their rain hail, and flames of fire in their land.
33 Li te frape fè desann tout chan fwi yo e te kraze fann pyebwa nan teritwa yo.
And he smote their vines and their fig-trees, and broke the trees within their boundary.
34 Li te pale e krikèt volan yo te vini. Ak jenn krikèt san kontwòl.
He spoke, and the locusts came, and crickets, and that without number;
35 Yo te manje tout sa ki te vèt nan peyi yo, e te manje fwi a teren yo.
And they ate up all the herbs in their land, and ate up the fruit of their ground.
36 Anplis, Li te frape touye tout premye ne nan peyi yo, premye fwi a fòs yo.
And he smote all the first-born in their land, the first of all their strength.
37 Li te fè yo sòti ak ajan ak lò. Pami pèp Li yo, pa t gen yon grenn ki te tonbe.
And he brought them forth with silver and gold: and there was not one that stumbled among his tribes.
38 Égypte te kontan lè yo te sòti, paske laperèz yo te fin tonbe sou yo.
Egypt rejoiced when they departed; for the dread of them was fallen upon them.
39 Li te louvri yon nwaj kon kouvèti, avèk dife ki pou klere nan nwit la.
He spread out a cloud for a covering, and fire to give light in the night.
40 Yo te mande e li te pote zòtolan pou te satisfè yo avèk pen syèl la.
The people asked, and he brought quails, and with heavenly bread he satisfied them.
41 Li te ouvri wòch la e dlo te sòti ladann. Li te koule kote sèch yo tankou yon rivyè.
He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out: they ran in the dry places like a river.
42 Li te sonje pawòl sen Li yo avèk Abraham, sèvitè Li a.
For he remembered his holy word given to Abraham his servant.
43 Konsa, Li te mennen fè sòti pèp Li a avèk jwa, (sila) ke Li te chwazi avèk gwo kri ak kè kontan yo.
And he brought forth his people with gladness, with joyful song his elect.
44 Li te bay yo, anplis, peyi a nasyon yo, Pou yo ta pran posesyon a zèv a pèp yo,
And he gave them the lands of nations; and the labor of people they obtained as an inheritance:
45 pou yo te kab kenbe règleman Li yo, e swiv lwa Li yo. Louwe SENYÈ a!
So that they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Hallelujah.
