< Matye 25 >
1 “Konsa, Wayòm syèl la tankou dis vyèj ki te pran lanp yo pou soti e rankontre jennonm k ap marye a.
Then will the kingdom of heaven be like ten virgins, who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom: and five of them were wise,
2 Senk nan yo te manke sajès, men lòt senk yo te gen bon konprann.
and five were foolish.
The foolish ones took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4 Men saj yo te pran lwil nan veso ansanm avèk lanp yo.
but the wise took oil in their vessels as well as in their lamps.
5 Konsa, pandan jennonm nan t ap pran reta, yo tout te vin fatige, e dòmi te pran yo.
Now while the bridegroom stayed, they were all drowsy and fell asleep:
6 “Men a minwi, te gen yon gwo kri: ‘Men gade, jennonm k ap marye a parèt! Vin rankontre li.’
and in the middle of the night there was a cry, The bridegroom is coming, go out to meet him.
Then all the virgins rose up and trimmed their lamps:
8 Men sila ki pa t saj yo te di a sila ki te pridan yo: ‘Bannou kèk nan lwil pa nou an, paske lanp nou yo ap etenn.’
and the foolish ones said to the wise, Give us of your oil, for our lamps are going out:
9 “Men saj yo te reponn: ‘Non, pwiske si nou fè sa, nou p ap rete kont pou nou. Pito nou ale kote machann pou nou achte pou tèt nou.’
but the wise answered them, saying, Least there should not be enough for us and you, go rather to them that sell it, and buy for yourselves.
And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and they that were ready went in with him to the wedding-feast, and then the door was shut.
Afterwards came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us:
12 “Men li te reponn yo konsa: ‘Anverite mwen di nou, mwen pa rekonèt nou.’
but he answered them, Verily I declare unto you, I do not know you.
Watch therefore, for ye know not the day, nor the season in which the Son of man cometh.
14 “Konsa, li menm jan avèk yon nonm ki fenk pare pou fè yon vwayaj. Li rele esklav li yo, e konfye tout sa li posede nan men yo menm.
For as a man, who was going to travel abroad, called his servants, and delivered to them his stock: and to one he gave five talents,
15 A youn li te bay senk talan (yon gwo sòm dajan) a yon lòt de, e a yon lòt, youn, selon kapasite ke chak te genyen. Epi li te sòti pou fè vwayaj la.
to another two, and to another one; to each according to his ability: and then he took his journey.
Now he that had received the five talents, went and traded with them, and gained other five talents:
17 “Menm jan an, sila ki te resevwa de talan yo te vin jwenn de lòt.
and likewise he that had the two, he also gained two more:
18 Men sila ki te resevwa yon sèl talan an te ale fouye yon twou nan tè pou te sere lajan mèt li.
but he who had received the one, went and digged in the earth, and hid his master's money:
19 “Apre anpil tan, mèt a esklav sa yo te vini pou te regle kont avèk yo.
and after some time the lord of those servants cometh and settleth his account with them.
And he who had received the five talents came and brought to him five talents more, saying, Sir, thou deliveredst to me five talents, behold I have gained other five talents to them:
21 “Mèt li te di li: ‘Byen fèt, bon e fidèl sèvitè. Ou te fidèl avèk yon ti kras bagay. M ap fè ou responsab anpil bagay. Antre nan lajwa a mèt ou.’
and his lord said to him, Well done, my good and trusty servant, thou hast been faithful in a few things, I will set thee over many, enter into thy master's joy.
And he also who had received the two talents came to him and said, Lord, thou deliveredst to me two talents, behold I have gained two other talents with them:
23 “Mèt li te di li: ‘Byen fèt, bon sèvitè fidèl la. Ou te fidèl avèk yon ti kras bagay. M ap fè ou responsab anpil bagay. Antre nan lajwa a mèt ou.’
his lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant, thou hast been faithful in a few things, I will set thee over many, enter into the joy of thy lord.
And he also who received the one talent came to him and said, Sir, I knew thee that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou sowedst not, and gathering where thou hast not strewed;
25 Epi mwen te krent, e te ale sere talan an nan tè. Gade byen, ou twouve sa ki pou ou a.’
and I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the ground; behold, there is thine own:
26 “Men mèt li te reponn li e te di: ‘Esklav malveyan e parese! Ou te konnen ke mwen rekòlte kote mwen pa plante, e ranmase kote mwen pa simen.
but his lord answered and said to him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strewed;
27 Pou sa, ou te dwe mete kòb mwen an labank pou lè m rive mwen ta kapab resevwa l avèk enterè.
thou oughtest then to have put my money to the bankers, and when I came I should have received my own with interest.
28 “Konsa, retire talan an nan men li, epi bay li a sila a ki gen dis talan yo.
Take ye therefore the talent from him, and give it to him that hath the ten talents;
29 Paske a sila a ki genyen an, l ap resevwa plis e l ap gen an abondans, men pou sila a ki pa genyen an, menm sa li genyen an ap retire nan men l.
(for to every one that hath shall be given, and he shall abound; but from him that hath not, even what he hath, or seemeth to have, shall be taken away: )
30 Voye esklav initil sila a nan fon tenèb, nan plas kote ap genyen kriye ak manje dan.’
and cast out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness, where there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
31 “Men lè Fis a Lòm nan vini nan tout glwa Li avèk tout zanj Li yo, Li va chita sou twòn glwa pa Li a.
So when the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then shall He sit upon his glorious throne:
32 Tout nasyon yo va rasanble devan Li. E Li va separe yo youn de lòt, kon yon gadyen patiraj separe mouton avèk kabrit.
and all nations shall be assembled before Him; and He shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides the sheep from the goats:
33 Konsa, l ap mete mouton yo adwat li, e kabrit yo agoch Li.
and He shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on his left.
Then will the king say to them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 Paske Mwen te grangou, e nou te ban M bagay pou M manje. Mwen te swaf, e nou te ban M bwè. Mwen te yon etranje, e nou te envite M antre,
for I was famishing, and ye gave me food; I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink; I was a stranger, and ye took me in;
36 Mwen te touni, e nou te ban M rad. Mwen te malad e nou te vizite M. Mwen te nan prizon e nou te vin kote M.
I was naked, and ye clothed me; I was sick, and ye took care of me; I was in prison, and ye visited me.
37 “Epi jis yo ap di Li: ‘Senyè, kilè nou te wè Ou grangou e te bay Ou manje, ni swaf pou te bay Ou bwè?
Then will the righteous answer Him, saying, Lord, when did we see thee hungry, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38 Epi kilè nou te wè Ou yon etranje, epi envite Ou antre, oubyen touni pou te bay Ou rad?
and when did we see thee a stranger, and took thee in?
39 Epi kilè nou te wè Ou malad, e te vizite Ou; oubyen nan prizon pou te vizite Ou?’
or naked, and clothed thee? and when did we see thee sick, or in prison, and visited thee?
40 “Konsa, wa a va reponn yo: ‘Anverite, Mwen di nou menm jan ke nou te fè li a youn nan frè Mwen yo, nou te fè l a Mwen menm tou.’
And the king replying will say unto them, Verily I declare unto you, inasmuch as ye did it to one of the lest of these my brethren, ye did it to me.
41 “Apre Li va di a sila ki agoch Li yo: ‘Sòti sou Mwen, nou menm ki modi, pou ale nan dife etènèl ki te prepare pou Satan avèk zanj li yo a. (aiōnios )
Then will He say also to those on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: (aiōnios )
42 Paske Mwen te grangou, men nou te refize ban M manje. Mwen te swaf, e nou pa t ban M bwè.
for I was famishing, and ye gave me nothing to eat; I was a-thirst, and ye gave me no drink;
43 Mwen te yon etranje, e nou pa t envite M antre, touni, e nou pa t ban M rad, nan prizon e nou pa t vizite M.
I was a stranger, and ye took me not in; naked, and ye clothed me not; sick, and in prison, and ye took no care of me.
44 “Alò yo menm va reponn: ‘Senyè, kilè nou te wè Ou grangou, oswa swaf, oswa yon etranje, touni, malad oubyen nan prizon, e nou pa t okipe Ou?’
Then will they also answer Him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee famishing, or a-thirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not relieve thee?
45 “Konsa L ap reponn yo: ‘Anverite Mwen di nou, menm jan ke nou pa t fè li pou youn nan pi piti nan sa yo, nou pa t fè l pou Mwen tou.’
Then will He reply to them, saying, Verily I tell you, inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the lest of these, ye did it not to me.
46 Epi sila yo va ale nan pinisyon etènèl, men jis yo nan lavi etènèl.” (aiōnios )
And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life everlasting. (aiōnios )
