Levitik 3
1 “‘Alò, si ofrann li an se yon ofrann lapè, si li pral ofri sòti nan twoupo a, kit se mal, kit se femèl, li va ofri li san defo devan SENYÈ a.
[“Also tell the people], ‘When the offering that you bring to Yahweh is to maintain good fellowship [with him], you may bring a bull or a cow from your herd [of cattle], but what you present to Yahweh must be an animal that has no defects.
2 Li va mete men li sou tèt ofrann li an, e touye li nan pòtay tant asanble a. Epi fis Aaron yo, prèt yo, va flite san li toupatou sou lotèl la.
You must bring the animal to the entrance to the Sacred Tent. You must lay your hands on its head. Then you must slaughter it [and drain some of its blood in a bowl]. Then one of Aaron’s sons, one of the priests, will sprinkle the blood against all sides of the altar.
3 Soti nan sakrifis ofrann lapè yo, li va prezante yon ofrann pa dife bay SENYÈ a, avèk grès ki kouvri zantray yo ak tout grès ki tache a zantray yo,
From that offering, you must offer to Yahweh, as a sacrifice that will be burned in the fire, all the fat that covers the inner parts of the animal, or which is attached to them—
4 epi de ren yo avèk grès ki sou yo a, ki sou senti a, ak gwo mòso fwa a, ke li va retire avèk ren yo.
the kidneys and the fat that is attached to them near the lower back muscle, and the fat that covers the liver.
5 Answit, fis Aaron yo va ofri li nan lafimen sou lotèl la sou ofrann brile ki sou bwa ki sou dife a. Li se yon ofrann pa dife, yon bagay ki santi dous pou SENYÈ a.
Then one of the priests will burn those things on the altar, along with the other parts of the animal that will be completely burned to be an offering [to Yahweh]. And the aroma while it burns will be pleasing to Yahweh.
6 “‘Men si ofrann li an pou yon sakrifis ofrann lapè pou SENYÈ a, sòti nan bann bèt la, li va ofri li, mal oswa femèl san defo.
If that offering to maintain good fellowship with Yahweh is a sheep or a goat, it must also be an animal that has no defects.
7 Si li pral ofri yon jenn mouton pou ofrann li an, alò, li va ofri li devan SENYÈ a.
If you offer a lamb, you must present it to Yahweh [at the entrance to the Sacred Tent]. You must lay your hands on the lamb’s head and then slaughter it. [‘You must drain some of its blood in a bowl].
8 Epi li va poze men li sou tèt ofrann li an e touye li devan tant asanble a, epi fis Aaron yo va flite san li toupatou sou lotèl la.
Then one of the priests will sprinkle that blood against all sides of the altar.
9 Soti nan ofrann sakrifis lapè a, li va pote kòm ofrann pa dife bay SENYÈ a, grès li, tout grès ke li menm, moun nan va retire pre zo do a, ak grès ki kouvri zantray yo ak tout grès ki tache sou zantray yo.
You must dedicate these things to be a sacrifice to Yahweh that is burned: Its fat, the fat tail that you must cut off close to the backbone, and all the fat that covers the inner parts of the lamb or which is attached to them—
10 Epi de ren yo avèk grès ki sou yo a, ki sou pati ba senti a, ak gran bout fwa a, ke li va retire avèk ren yo.
the kidneys with the fat that is on them near the lower back muscle, and the fat that covers the liver.
11 Answit, prèt la va ofri li nan lafimen sou lotèl la tankou manje, yon ofrann pa dife bay SENYÈ a.
One of the priests will burn those things on the altar to be an offering to Yahweh; [it will be as though] they will be a special food [given to Yahweh].
12 “‘Anplis, si ofrann li an se yon kabrit, alò, li va ofri li devan SENYÈ a.
‘If your offering is a goat, you must take/present it to Yahweh.
13 Li va poze men l sou tèt li e touye li devan tant asanble a, epi fis Aaron yo va flite san li toupatou sou lotèl la.
You must lay your hands on its head. Then you must slaughter it in front of the Sacred Tent. Then one of Aaron’s sons will sprinkle the blood against all sides of the altar.
14 Soti nan li, li va prezante ofrann li kòm ofrann pa dife bay SENYÈ a; grès ki kouvri zantray yo ak tout grès ki tache sou zantray yo,
From that offering you must dedicate these things to be a sacrifice to Yahweh that is burned: All the fat that covers the inner parts of the animal or which is attached to them,
15 ak de ren yo avèk grès ki sou yo a, ki sou pati ba senti a, ak gwo bout fwa a, ke li va retire avèk ren yo.
the kidneys with the fat that is on them near the lower back muscle, and the fat that covers the liver.
16 Prèt la va ofri yo nan lafimen sou lotèl la tankou manje, yon ofrann pa dife bagay ki santi dous; tout grès se pou SENYÈ a.
The priest will burn those things on the altar to be an offering to Yahweh; [it will be as though] they will be a special food [given to Yahweh]. And the aroma while it burns will be pleasing to Yahweh. All the fat [of the animals that are sacrificed] belongs to Yahweh.
17 “‘Li se yon règleman pou tout tan atravè tout jenerasyon nou yo, nan tout abitasyon nou yo: nou pa pou manje okenn grès, ni okenn san.’”
‘This is a command that must be obeyed by you and your descendants forever, wherever you live: You must not eat the fat or the blood [of any animal].’”
