< Plenn 3 >
1 Mwen se moun ki te wè afliksyon akoz baton kòlè Li a.
I [, the one who am writing this, ] am a man who has been afflicted/punished [MTY] by Yahweh because he was angry.
2 Li te mennen mwen, e te fè m mache nan tenèb, pa nan limyè.
[It was as though] he caused me to walk in a very dark place without any light [at all].
3 Anverite, li te vire men L kont mwen plizyè fwa, tout jounen an.
He has punished [IDM] me many times, all day, [every] day.
4 Li te fè chè m ak po m vin epwize sòti sou mwen, Li te kase zo m yo.
He has caused my skin and my flesh to become old. He has broken my bones.
5 Li te jennen mwen e te antoure m ak ametim ak difikilte.
He has surrounded me [DOU] with bitterness and suffering.
6 Nan kote ki fènwa, li te fè m abite, tankou sila ki fin mouri lontan yo.
[It is as though] he has buried me in a dark place like [SIM] [the graves of] those who have been dead for a long time.
7 Li te antoure m anndan pou m pa ka sòti. Li te fè chenn mwen an byen lou.
[It is as though] [MET] he has built a wall around me, and fastened/tied me with heavy chains, and I cannot escape.
8 Menm lè m kriye e rele sekou, Li fèmen lapriyè m deyò.
Although I call out and cry out for him to help me, he does not pay attention to my prayers.
9 Li te bloke wout mwen yo ak wòch taye. Li te fè chemen mwen yo vin kwochi.
[It is as though] he has blocked my path with a [high] stone [wall] and has caused my path to become crooked.
10 Li pou mwen tankou yon lous ki kouche ap tann, tankou yon lyon nan kote an kachèt.
He has waited to attack me like [SIM] a bear or a lion hides and waits [to attack other animals].
11 Li te detounen tout chemen mwen yo e Li te chire mwen an mòso; Li te fè m vin dezole nèt.
[It is as though] he has dragged me off the path and (mauled me/torn me into pieces), and left me without help.
12 Li te koube banza Li, e Li te chwazi m kon pwen final pou flèch Li.
[It is as though] [MET] he bent his bow and caused me to become the target [at which he shot] his arrows.
13 Li te fè flèch nan fouwo L yo antre nan ren mwen.
[It is as though] he shot his arrows deep into my body.
14 Mwen te vin yon rizib pou tout pèp mwen an, chante giyonnen yo sonnen tout lajounen.
All my relatives laugh at me; all day, [every] day they sing songs that make fun of me.
15 Li te plen mwen ak anmetim. Li te fè m sou ak dlo absent.
He has filled me with (bitterness/great suffering), [like] [MET] someone who drinks a very bitter liquid suffers.
16 Li te kase dan m ak gravye. Li fè m kache nan pousyè.
[It is as though] he has caused me to chew gravel that broke my teeth, and he has trampled me in the dirt.
17 Nanm mwen p ap jwenn lapè ankò. Bonè vin bliye pou mwen.
Things no longer go well for me; I no longer remember being prosperous.
18 Konsa mwen di: “Fòs mwen fin peri, ansanm ak espwa m ki sòti nan SENYÈ a.”
I [continued to] say [to myself], “I no longer expect to live much longer; I no longer confidently expect [to receive good things] from Yahweh!”
19 Sonje soufrans mwen ak mizè mwen an; dlo absent ak anmetim ki nan kè m nan.
When I think about my suffering and my wandering [away from home], [it is like drinking] a very bitter [DOU] liquid.
20 Anverite, nanm mwen sonje yo. Li vin koube anndan mwen.
I will never forget this time when I feel very depressed/discouraged [IDM].
21 Men sa mwen sonje nan tèt mwen; pou sa, mwen gen espwa.
However, I confidently expect [Yahweh to do good things for me again] when I think about this:
22 Lamou dous SENYÈ a, anvèrite, p ap janm sispann, paske mizerikòd Li p ap janm manke.
Yahweh never stops faithfully loving [us], and he never stops being kind to us.
23 Yo renouvle chak maten. Gran se fidelite Ou.
[He is the one whom we can] always trust/lean on. Every morning he is merciful [to us again].
24 “SENYÈ a se pòsyon mwen.” Se sa nanm mwen di m. Konsa, mwen mete espwa m nan Li.
[So] I say to myself, “Yahweh is all that I need; so I will confidently wait for him [to do good things for me].”
25 SENYÈ a montre dousè Li a sila ki tann Li yo, a moun ki chache Li a.
Yahweh is good to [all] those who depend on him, to those who seek his [help].
26 Se bon pou yon nonm gen espwa, e tann byen trankil pou sali SENYÈ a.
[So] it is good for us to wait quietly for Yahweh to save/rescue [us].
27 Se bon pou yon nonm pote jouk la nan jenès li.
And it is good for us to [patiently] endure [suffering] while we are young.
28 Kite li chita apa pou kont li, e rete an silans, akoz Li te poze sa sou li.
Those [who seek his help] should sit by themselves, silently, [knowing that] it is Yahweh who has allowed/caused them to suffer.
29 Kite li mete bouch li nan pousyè, si se konsa, pou l ka gen espwa.
They should lie in the dirt, with their faces on the ground, [because] they can still hope [that Yahweh will help them].
30 Kite li lonje machwè li, bay sila k ap frape l la. Kite li ranpli ak repwòch.
If someone strikes us on one cheek, we should turn the other cheek toward that person [in order that he may strike it, too], and accept/endure it when we are insulted.
31 Paske se pa pou tout tan ke Senyè a ap rejte.
Yahweh does not abandon [us his people] forever.
32 Paske malgre se gwo doulè ke Li fè rive; alò, Li va gen mizerikòd selon gran lanmou dous Li a.
Sometimes he causes us to suffer, but sometimes he is kind [to us] because he continually and faithfully loves [us].
33 Paske se pa ak kè kontan ke Li aflije, oswa pou atriste fis a lòm yo.
And he is not happy about causing human beings to suffer or to be sad.
34 Pou kraze anba pye, tout prizonye nan mond la,
If people (mistreat all the prisoners/crush all the prisoners under their feet)
35 pou retire jistis sou yon nonm nan prezans a Pi Wo a,
or if they rebel against God by refusing to give to people the things that it is right for them [to receive],
36 pou fè yon nonm tò nan pwosè legal pa li, sou bagay sa yo, Senyè a p ap dakò.
or if they cause judges to decide matters unjustly, (does Yahweh not see all those things?/Yahweh certainly sees all those things!) [RHQ]
37 Se kilès li ye ki pale, e sa vin rive, amwenske Senyè a te pase lòd la?
No one can [RHQ] command something to happen [and then cause it to happen] if Yahweh has not already decided that it should happen.
38 Èske sa ki bon ak sa ki mal pa soti nan bouch a Pi Wo a?
God in heaven [MTY] is [RHQ] the one who causes disasters to happen, and he [also] causes good things to happen.
39 Poukisa yon nonm vivan dwe plenyen, yon nonmta plenyen lè l resevwa pinisyon pou pwòp peche l yo?
[So] it is certainly not [RHQ] right for us, who are only humans, to complain when he punishes us for the sins that we have committed.
40 Annou egzamine e sonde wout nou yo pou nou retounen kote SENYÈ a.
Instead, we should (examine/think carefully about) our behavior; we should turn back to Yahweh.
41 Annou leve kè nou ak men nou vè Bondye nan syèl la;
We should pray [IDM] sincerely and lift up our arms toward God in heaven, [and say, ]
42 Nou te peche e nou te fè rebèl; Ou pa t padone.
“We have sinned and rebelled [against you], and you have not forgiven [us].
43 Ou te kouvri nou ak kòlè e te kouri dèyè nou. Ou te touye. Ou pa t gen pitye menm.
You have surrounded us with your anger and pursued us; you have slaughtered [us] without pitying us.
44 Ou te kouvri tèt Ou ak yon nwaj lakolè, pou okenn lapriyè pa ka pase ladann.
You have hidden yourself in a cloud, with the result that you do not hear [us] when we pray.
45 Ou fè nou kon poupou bèt ak fatra ki rejte nan mitan lòt nasyon yo.
You have caused [the people of other] nations to consider us to be only garbage [DOU].
46 Tout lènmi nou yo te ouvri bouch yo laj kont nou.
All our enemies have insulted us.
47 Sezisman ak pyèj tonbe sou nou, ravaj ak destriksyon.
We are constantly afraid [DOU], [because] we have experienced disasters and ruin [DOU].”
48 Zye m koule nèt ak flèv dlo akoz destriksyon a fi a pèp mwen an.
I cry a lot because my people have been destroyed.
49 Zye m koule san sès, san rete menm pou yon ti moman,
My tears continually flow; they will not stop
50 jiskaske SENYÈ a gade anba soti nan wotè syèl la pou wè.
until Yahweh looks down from heaven and sees [us].
51 Zye m pote doulè rive nan nanm mwen, akoz tout fi nan vil mwen.
I am very grieved because of [what has happened to] the women of my city.
52 Lènmi m yo san koz te fè lachas dèyè m tankou zwazo. Se lènmi m san koz.
Those who are my enemies hunted for me like [SIM] [people hunt for] a bird [to kill it] [even though] there was no reason [for them to do that].
53 Yo te fè m rete an silans nan twou fòs la e te poze yon wòch sou mwen.
They threw me into a pit to kill me, and they threw stones on top of me.
54 Dlo yo te koule depase tèt mwen. Mwen te di: “Mwen fin koupe retire nèt”!
The water [in the pit] rose above my head, and I said [to myself], “I am about to die/drown!”
55 Mwen te rele non Ou, O SENYÈ, depi nan twou fòs pi ba a.
But from the bottom of the pit I cried out to you [MTY], “Yahweh, [help me]!”
56 Ou te tande vwa m: pa kache zòrèy W de lapriyè mwen pou sekou, ak kriyè mwen an.
I pleaded with you, “Do not refuse to heed [MTY] me while I cry out to you!”
57 Ou te vin rapwoche lè m te rele Ou a. Ou te di: “Pa pè!”
Then you answered me and said, “Do not be afraid!”
58 O Senyè, Ou te plede ka pou nanm mwen an. Ou te rachte lavi mwen.
Yahweh, you defended me; you did not allow me to die.
59 O SENYÈ, Ou te wè jan m oprime. Jije ka m nan.
[Now], Yahweh, you have seen the evil things that my enemies have done to me, [so] decide my case [and show that I am right]!
60 Ou te wè tout vanjans pa yo; tout manèv yo kont mwen.
You know the evil things that they have planned to do to me.
61 Ou te tande repwòch yo, O SENYÈ, tout manèv yo kont mwen.
Yahweh, you have heard them insult [me] and what they have planned to do to me.
62 Lèv a sila k ap atake m yo ak konplo yo kont mwen tout lajounen.
Every day they whisper and mutter things about me, all day long.
63 Gade jan yo chita ak jan yo leve; se mwen ki sijè chan giyonnen yo a.
Look at them! Whether they are standing or sitting they make fun of me with the songs that they sing.
64 Ou va rekonpanse yo, O SENYÈ, selon zèv men yo.
Yahweh, cause them to suffer in return for their causing [me] to suffer!
65 Ou va bay yo yon kè ki di; madichon pa yo va sou yo.
Curse them [IDM] [for] their being very stubborn [IDM].
66 Ou va kouri dèyè yo nan kòlè Ou e detwi yo soti anba syèl SENYÈ a!
Because you are angry with them, pursue them and get rid of them, [until none of them remain] on the earth.
