< Jòb 28 >
1 Anverite, gen yon min pou ajan e yon plas pou rafine lò.
Silver has its fissures where it is first found, and gold has a place where it is melted.
2 Fè retire nan pousyè a e kwiv la fonn soti nan wòch la.
Iron is taken from the earth, and ore, unbound by heat, is turned into brass.
3 Lòm fè tenèb la pati, e rive jis nan dènye limit lan. Li chache twouve wòch kap kache a, ak nan pwofon fènwa.
He has established a time for darkness, and he has settled on an end for all things, as well as for the stone that is in the gloom and shadow of death.
4 Li fouye yon twou fon byen lwen kote moun rete, kote ki bliye nèt pa pye moun. Konsa, yo pandye, yo balanse byen lwen limanite.
The burning separates a pilgrim people from those who have been forgotten by the feet of the destitute man and from the unapproachable.
5 Pou tè a, depi nan li, manje sòti, men anba, li boulvèse tankou dife.
The land, where bread appeared in its place, has been destroyed by fire.
6 Wòch li se sous a pyè safi yo. Epi nan pousyè li, genyen lò.
Its stones are embedded with sapphires, and its soil, with gold.
7 Chemen li pa rekonèt pa koukou, ni zye grigri pa janm wè l.
The bird does not know its path, nor has the eye of the vulture beheld it.
8 Bèt pi fewòs yo pa mache la, ni lyon pa pase sou li.
The sons of merchants have not walked there, nor has the lioness traveled through it.
9 Li mete men li sou wòch silèks la. Li chavire mòn yo soti nan baz yo.
He has stretched out his hand to the rocks; he has overturned the foundations of the mountains.
10 Li kreve kanal ki pase nan wòch yo, e zye li wè tout sa ki presye.
He has cut rivers through the rocks, and his eye has seen all precious things.
11 Li bouche flèv yo pou dlo pa koule e sa ki kache yo, li fè yo parèt nan limyè.
The depths of rivers he has also examined, and he has brought hidden things into the light.
12 “Men se kibò yo twouve sajès? Epi kibò yo jwenn sajès la?
But, in truth, where is wisdom to be found, and where is the place of understanding?
13 Lòm pa konnen valè li, ni valè li pa kab twouve nan peyi moun vivan yo.
Man does not know its price, nor is it found in the land of those who live in sweetness.
14 Labim nan di: “Li pa nan mwen”. Lanmè a di: ‘Li pa bò kote m’.
The abyss declares, “It is not in me.” And the sea says, “It is not with me.”
15 Lò pi pa egal ak valè l, ni ajan pa kab peze kon pri li.
The finest gold will not be paid for it, nor will silver be weighed in exchange for it.
16 Valè li pa kab konpare ak lò Ophir, oswa oniks presye, oswa safì.
It will not be compared with the dyed colors of India, nor with the very costly stone sardonyx, nor with the sapphire.
17 Ni lò ni vit pa egal avè l, ni li pa kab fè echanj pou bagay ki fèt an lò fen.
Neither gold nor crystal will be its equal; neither will vessels of gold be fitted for it.
18 Koray ak kristal, bliye sa nèt. Posede sajès se pi wo ke pèl.
The exalted and the eminent will not be remembered in comparison with it. Yet wisdom is drawn out of concealment.
19 Topaz a Éthiopie a pa kab konpare avè l; ni li pa kab valorize an lò pi.
The topaz of Ethiopia will not be equal to it, nor will it be compared to the purest dyes.
20 E byen, se kibò sajès la sòti? Epi kibò anplasman bon konprann nan ye?
So then, where does wisdom begin, and where is the place of understanding?
21 Konsa, li kache a zye de tout èt vivan yo e kache menm a zwazo syèl yo.
It has been hidden from the eyes of all living things, just as the birds of the heavens escape notice.
22 Labim nan ak lanmò a pale: ‘Ak zòrèy nou, nou konn tande rapò bagay sa a.’
Perdition and death have said, “With our ears, we have heard its fame.”
23 Bondye konprann chemen li e Li konnen plas li.
God understands its way, and he knows its location.
24 “Paske Li chache jis rive nan dènye pwent latè e wè tout bagay anba syèl yo.
For he beholds the limits of the world, and he looks upon all things that are under heaven.
25 Lè L te bay pwa a van an e te divize dlo yo pa mezi,
He created a counterweight for the winds, and he suspended the waters to measure them.
26 Lè L te etabli yon limit pou lapli e yon chemen pou kout eklè,
At that time, he gave a law to the rain and a path to the resounding storms.
27 Li te wè l e Li te deklare li. Li te etabli li e anplis, Li te konprann bout li.
Then he saw and explained it, and he made ready and examined it.
28 Konsa, a lòm Li te di: ‘Gade byen, lakrent Senyè a, se sa ki sajès; epi kite mal, se sa ki bon konprann.’”
And he said to man, “Behold the fear of the Lord. Such is wisdom. And to withdraw from evil, this is understanding.”
