< Jòb 17 >
1 “Lespri m fin kase. Jou m yo etenn; tonbo a pare pou mwen.
My spirit hath been destroyed, My days extinguished — graves [are] for me.
2 Anverite mokè yo avè m, e zye m fikse sou pwovokasyon yo.
If not — mockeries [are] with me. And in their provocations mine eye lodgeth.
3 “Depoze la koulye a, yon sekirite. Kanpe kon garanti mwen, ak Ou menm. Se kilès ki kab antann avè m?
Place, I pray Thee, my pledge with Thee; Who is he that striketh hand with me?
4 Paske Ou te anpeche kè yo konprann; pou sa, ou pa p egzalte yo.
For their heart Thou hast hidden From understanding, Therefore Thou dost not exalt them.
5 Sila ki enfòme kont zanmi li yo pou piyaj la, menm zye pitit li yo va vin gate.
For a portion he sheweth friendship, And the eyes of his sons are consumed.
6 “Men Li te fè m vin tounen yon vye pwovèb pou pèp la. Konsa, yo vin krache sou figi m.
And he set me up for a proverb of the peoples, And a wonder before them I am.
7 Anplis, zye m vin pa wè klè akoz doulè m, e tout nanm mwen tankou lonbraj.
And dim from sorrow is mine eye, And my members as a shadow all of them.
8 Moun ladwati va byen twouble ak sa, e linosan an va leve li menm kont enkwayan yo.
Astonished are the upright at this, And the innocent against the profane Stirreth himself up.
9 Malgre, moun dwat la va kenbe chemen li e sila ki gen men pwòp yo va vin pi fò e pi fò.
And the righteous layeth hold [on] his way, And the clean of hands addeth strength, And — dumb are they all.
10 Men nou tout, retounen; malgre mwen pa twouve yon nonm saj pami nou.
Return, and come in, I pray you, And I find not among you a wise man.
11 Jou pa m yo fin pase, plan mwen yo vin chire nèt, menm dezi a kè mwen yo.
My days have passed by, My devices have been broken off, The possessions of my heart!
12 Yo fè lannwit mwen vin sanble lajounen. Yo di ‘limyè a toupre’ lè tout se fènwa.
Night for day they appoint, Light [is] near because of darkness.
13 Si mwen chache Sejou mò yo kon lakay mwen, si mwen fè kabann mwen nan tenèb la; (Sheol )
If I wait — Sheol [is] my house, In darkness I have spread out my couch. (Sheol )
14 Si mwen kriye a fòs tonbo a: ‘Se ou ki papa m’; epi a vè a: “Ou se manman m ak sè m’;
To corruption I have called: — 'Thou [art] my father.' 'My mother' and 'my sister' — to the worm.
15 Alò, koulye a, se kibò espwa mwen ye? Epi se kilès k ap okipe espwa m?
And where [is] now my hope? Yea, my hope, who doth behold it?
16 Èske espwa m va desann avèk mwen nan Sejou Lanmò yo? Èske se ansanm n ap desann nan pousyè a?” (Sheol )
[To] the parts of Sheol ye go down, If together on the dust we may rest. (Sheol )
