< Jòb 11 >
1 Epi Tsophar, Naamatit la, te reponn:
Then Sophar the Minaean answered and said,
2 “Èske fòs kantite pawòl sa yo dwe pase san repons? Eske yon nonm pale anpil vin akite?
He that speaks much, should also hear on the other side: or does the fluent speaker think himself to be righteous? blessed [is] the short lived offspring of woman.
3 Èske se akoz ògèy ou ke moun ta dwe rete san pale? Lè ou moke, èske nanpwan moun ki pou fè ou wont?
Be not a speaker of many words; for is there none to answer thee?
4 Paske ou te di ‘Lenstriksyon pa m san fot, e mwen inosan nan zye Ou.’
For say not, I am pure in my works, and blameless before him.
5 Men fòk Bondye ta pale e ouvri bouch Li kont ou,
But oh that the Lord would speak to thee, and open his lips to thee!
6 pou montre ou sekrè a sajès! Paske sajès ki bon gen de bò. Alò, konnen byen ke Bondye pa t egzije tout sa inikite ou merite.
Then shall he declare to thee the power of wisdom; for it shall be double of that which is with thee: and then shalt thou know, that a just recompence of thy sins has come to thee from the Lord.
7 “Èske ou kab dekouvri pwofondè a Bondye? Èske ou kab twouve lizyè a Toupwisan an?
Wilt thou find out the traces of the Lord? or hast thou come to the end [of that] which the Almighty has made?
8 Yo wo tankou syèl la; kisa ou kab fè? Yo pi fon ke sejou lanmò yo, kisa ou kab konnen? (Sheol )
Heaven [is] high; and what wilt thou do? and there are deeper things than those in hell; what dost thou know? (Sheol )
9 Mezi li pi long ke latè, e pi laj pase lanmè.
Or longer than the measure of the earth, or the breadth of the sea.
10 Si Li pase pa la, oswa fèmen la nèt, oswa konvoke yon asanble, kilès kap anpeche Li?
And if he should overthrow all things, who will say to him, What hast thou done?
11 Paske Li konnen moun ki fò, e Li wè inikite menm san fè ankèt.
For he knows the works of transgressors; and when he sees wickedness, he will not overlook [it].
12 Yon moun ensanse va vin entèlijan lè pòtre a yon bourik mawon fèt kon yon moun.
But man vainly buoys himself up with words; and a mortal born of woman [is] like an ass in the desert.
13 “Si ou ta vle vin bon, dirije kè ou e lonje men ou vè Li.
For if thou hast made thine heart pure, and liftest up [thine] hands towards him;
14 Si se inikite ki nan men ou, mete l byen lwen. Pa kite mechanste demere nan tant pa ou.
if there is any iniquity in thy hands, put if far from thee, and let not unrighteousness lodge in thy habitation.
15 Konsa, anverite, ou ta kab leve figi ou wo san tach. Wi, ou va fidèl nèt e pa oblije gen lakrent.
For thus shall thy countenance shine again, as pure water; and thou shalt divest thyself of uncleanness, and shalt not fear.
16 Konsa ou va bliye twoub ou a. Ou va sonje l tankou dlo ki fin pase. Se konsa ou ta kab sonje li.
And thou shalt forget trouble, as a wave that has passed by; and thou shalt not be scared.
17 Lavi ou va pi klè ke midi; malgre gen fènwa a, lap tankou maten.
And thy prayer [shall be] as the morning star, and life shall arise to thee [as] from the noonday.
18 Ou va vin gen konfyans, akoz gen espwa. Epi ou va gade toupatou e repoze ou an sekirite.
And thou shalt be confident, because thou hast hope; and peace shall dawn to thee from out of anxiety and care.
19 Ou va kouche dòmi e okenn moun pa p deranje ou. Wi, anpil moun va mande favè ou.
For thou shalt be at ease, and there shall be no one to fight against thee; and many shall charge, and make supplication to thee.
20 Men zye a mechan yo va gate, e p ap gen chape pou yo. Pou yo, espwa va pou yo kab rann dènye souf yo.”
But safety shall fail them; for their hope is destruction, and the eyes of the ungodly shall waste away.
