< Jeremi 24 >
1 Pawòl SENYÈ a te demontre m, epi, gade byen, de panyen fig etranje ki te plase devan tanp SENYÈ a, lè Nebucadnetsar, wa Babylone nan, te fin retire Jeconia, fis a Jojakim nan, wa Juda a, dirijan a Juda yo ak gwo atizan ak bòs fòjewon Jérusalem yo pou te mennen yo Babylone.
YHWH has showed me, and behold, two baskets of figs, appointed before the temple of YHWH—after the removing by Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, of Jeconiah, son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, and the heads of Judah, and the artisan, and the smith, from Jerusalem, when he brings them into Babylon—
2 Yon panyen te gen bon fig etranje yo, tankou nan premye rekòlt yo, e lòt panyen an te gen move fig ki pa t ka manje akoz yo te pouri.
In one basket [are] very good figs, like the first-ripe figs, and in the other basket [are] very bad figs that are not eaten because of badness.
3 Konsa, SENYÈ a te di m: “Kisa ou wè, Jérémie?” Mwen te reponn: “Fig etranje yo, bon fig etranje yo, byen bon, ak move fig etranje yo, byen move, ki pa ka manje akoz yo pouri.”
And YHWH says to me, “What are you seeing, Jeremiah?” And I say, “Figs, the good figs [are] very good, and the bad [are] very bad, that are not eaten because of badness.”
4 Epi pawòl SENYÈ a te vin kote mwen. Li te di:
And there is a word of YHWH to me, saying,
5 “Konsa pale SENYÈ Israël a ‘Tankou bon fig etranje yo, konsa Mwen va konsidere kon bon, kaptif a Juda yo, ke m te voye sòti nan plas sa a pou antre nan peyi Kaldeyen yo.
“Thus said YHWH, God of Israel: Like these good figs so I acknowledge The expulsion of Judah that I sent from this place, [To] the land of the Chaldeans—for good.
6 Paske Mwen va fikse zye M sou yo pou byen e Mwen va mennen yo ankò nan peyi sa a. Mwen va bati yo, e Mwen p ap rale fè yo desann. Mwen va plante yo e Mwen p ap rache yo.
And I have set My eyes on them for good, And have brought them back to this land, And built them up, and I do not throw down, And have planted them, and do not pluck up.
7 Mwen va bay yo yon kè pou rekonèt Mwen, ke se Mwen ki SENYÈ a. Konsa, yo va pèp Mwen e Mwen va Bondye yo, paske yo va retounen kote Mwen ak tout kè yo.’”
And have given to them a heart to know Me, For I [am] YHWH, And they have been to Me for a people, And I am to them for God, For they turned back to Me with all their heart.
8 “Men tankou move fig etranje ki pa ka manje akoz yo pouri yo—anverite, konsa”, pale SENYÈ a—“Konsa Mwen va abandone Sédécias, wa Juda a, dirijan li yo, retay Jérusalem ki rete nan peyi sa a, ak sila ki rete nan peyi Égypte yo.
And like the bad figs that are not eaten for badness, Surely thus said YHWH: So I make Zedekiah king of Judah, And his heads, and the remnant of Jerusalem, Who are left in this land, And who are dwelling in the land of Egypt,
9 Mwen va fè yo vin yon gwo laperèz ak yon mal pou tout wayòm latè yo, kon repwòch, yon vye mo, yon rizib, e yon madichon tout kote ke M gaye yo.
And I have given them for a trembling, For evil—to all kingdoms of the earth, For a reproach, and for an allegory, For a byword, and for a reviling, In all the places to where I drive them.
10 Mwen va voye nepe ak gwo grangou, maladi ak bèt pou ravaje chan yo jiskaske yo fin detwi soti nan peyi ke M te bay a yo menm nan ak papa zansèt yo.”
And I have sent the sword against them, The famine and the pestilence, Until their consumption from off the ground, That I gave to them and to their fathers!”
