1 Pawòl ki te vini kote Jérémie soti nan SENYÈ a, lè Wa Sédécias te voye Paschhur, fis a Malkija a, ak Sophonie, fis a Maaséja a, prèt la, pou di l:
The word which was maad of the Lord to Jeremye, whanne king Sedechie sente to hym Phassur, the sone of Helchie, and Sofonye, the preest, the sone of Maasie, and seide,
2 Souple, mande a SENYÈ a pou nou menm, paske Nebucadnetsar, wa Babylone nan ap fè lagè kont nou. Petèt SENYÈ a va aji avèk nou selon zèv mèvèy Li yo, pou lènmi an rete kò l sou nou.
Axe thou the Lord for vs, for Nabugodonosor, the kyng of Babiloyne, fiytith ayens vs; if in hap the Lord do with vs bi alle hise merueilis, and he go awei fro vs.
3 Alò, Jérémie te di yo: “Nou va di Sédécias konsa:
And Jeremye seide to hem, Thus ye schulen seie to Sedechie,
4 ‘Konsa pale SENYÈ Bondye Israël la: “Gade byen, Mwen prèt pou vire zam lagè ki nan men nou yo, zam ak sila n ap batay kont wa Babylone nan, ak Kaldeyen k ap fè syèj nou deyò miray la. Konsa, Mwen va rasanble yo nan mitan vil sa a.
The Lord God of Israel seith these thingis, Lo! Y schal turne the instrumentis of batel that ben in youre hondis, and with which ye fiyten ayens the king of Babiloyne, and ayens Caldeis, that bisegen you in the cumpas of wallis; and Y schal gadere tho togidere in the myddis of this citee.
5 Mwen menm, Mwen va fè lagè kont nou ak yon men lonje, ak yon bra pwisan, menm ak kòlè, gwo kòlè, ak gwo endiyasyon.
And Y schal ouercome you in hond stretchid forth, and in strong arm, and in stronge veniaunce, and indignacioun, and in greet wraththe;
6 Anplis, Mwen va frape tout sa ki rete nan vil sa a, ni lòm, ni bèt. Yo va mouri akoz yon gwo epidemi.
and Y schal smyte the dwelleris of this citee, men and beestis schulen die bi greet pestilence.
7 Lè l fini”, deklare SENYÈ a: “Mwen va livre Sédécias, wa Juda a ak sèvitè li yo ak pèp la, sila yo ki chape nan vil sa a de epidemi, nepe, ak gwo grangou, pou fè yo antre nan men a wa Nebucadnetsar, wa Babylone nan, nan men a lènmi pa yo ak nan men a sila k ap chache lavi yo. Epi li va frape yo ak kout nepe. Li p ap lese yo, ni gen okenn pitye, ni konpasyon pou yo.”’
And after these thingis, seith the Lord, Y schal yyue Sedechie, kyng of Juda, and hise seruauntis, and his puple, and that ben left in this citee fro pestilence, and swerd, and hungur, in the hond of Nabugodonosor, kyng of Babiloyne, and in the hond of her enemyes, and in the hond of men sekynge the lijf of hem; and he schal smyte hem bi the scharpnesse of swerd; and he schal not be bowid, nether schal spare, nether schal haue mercy.
8 “Anplis, Ou va di a pèp sa a: ‘Konsa pale SENYÈ a: “Gade byen, Mwen mete devan nou chemen lavi ak chemen lanmò.
And thou schalt seie to this puple, The Lord God seith these thingis, Lo! Y yyue bifore you the weie of lijf, and the weie of deth.
9 Sila ki rete nan vil sa a va mouri pa nepe ak gwo grangou, ak epidemi, men sila ki soti e desann kote Kaldeyen k ap fè syèj kont nou yo, va sove lavi li. Li va chape ak lavi li.
He that dwellith in this citee, schal die bi swerd, and hungur, and pestilence; but he that goith out, and fleeth ouer to Caldeis that bisegen you, schal lyue, and his lijf schal be as a prey to hym.
10 Paske Mwen te ranje figi M kont vil sa a pou mal, e pa pou byen,” deklare SENYÈ a. “Li va livre nan men a wa Babylone nan e li va brile li ak dife.”’
For Y haue set my face on this citee in to yuel, and not in to good, seith the Lord; it schal be youun in the hond of the king of Babiloyne, and he schal brenne it with fier.
11 “Konsa, di a lakay wa Juda a: ‘Tande pawòl SENYÈ a.
And thou schalt seie to the hous of the king of Juda, the hous of Dauid, Here ye the word of the Lord.
12 O lakay David, konsa pale SENYÈ a: ‘Aji ak jistis chak maten. Delivre moun ki te vòlè devan pouvwa a sila ki te oprime l la, pou gwo kòlè Mwen pa sòti deyò kon dife e brile yon jan pou okenn pa ka etenn, akoz mechanste a zak yo.
The Lord seith these thingis, Deme ye eerli doom, and delyuere ye hym that is oppressid bi violence fro the hond of the fals chalenger; lest perauenture myn indignacioun go out as fier, and be kyndlid, and noon be that quenche, for the malice of youre studies.
13 Gade byen, Mwen kontra ou, O sila ki rete nan ba plèn nan,’ deklare SENYÈ a. ‘Nou menm k ap di: “Se kilès k ap desann kont nou?” Oswa, “Se kilès k ap antre nan abitasyon nou yo?”
Lo! Y to thee, dwelleresse of the sad valei and pleyn, seith the Lord, which seien, Who schal smyte vs, and who schal entre in to oure housis?
14 Mwen va pini nou selon rezilta zak nou yo, deklare SENYÈ a: “Epi Mwen va limen yon dife nan forè li ki va devore tout ozanviwon li.’”
And Y schal visite on you bi the fruyt of youre studies, seith the Lord; and Y schal kyndle fier in the forest therof, and it schal deuoure alle thingis in the cumpas therof.
