< Ezayi 64 >
1 O ke Ou ta chire syèl yo, ke Ou ta desann, ke mòn yo ta tranble devan prezans Ou—
O that thou wouldst rend the heavens, and come down; That the mountains might tremble at thy presence,
2 tankou dife anflame touf bwa chan an, tankou dife fè dlo bouyi. Fè non Ou rekonèt a advèsè Ou yo, pou nasyon yo ka tranble devan prezans Ou!
As fire kindleth the dry stubble, As fire causeth water to boil, To make known thy name to thine adversaries, That the nations might tremble at thy presence;
3 Kon lè Ou te fè bagay mèvèy ke nou pa t prevwa yo; Ou te desann. Mòn yo te tranble devan prezans Ou.
As thou once didst wonderful things, which we looked not for, And camest down, so that the mountains trembled at thy presence.
4 Depi nan jou ansyen yo, yo pa t tande ni sezi ak zorèy, ni zye pa t wè yon Bondye sof ke Ou, k ap aji pou sila k ap tann Li an.
For never have men heard, nor perceived by the ear, Nor hath eye seen, a God beside thee. Who doeth such things for those that trust in him.
Thou art the friend of those who joyfully do righteousness, Those who remember thee in thy ways. Behold, thou art angry, and we are punished; Long doth the punishment endure, before we are delivered.
6 Paske nou tout te vini tankou yon moun ki pa pwòp. Tout zèv ladwati nou yo tankou yon rad ki sal nèt; konsa, nou tout vin fennen kon yon fèy, e inikite nou yo tankou van, pote nou ale.
We are all of us an unclean thing; Like a filthy garment is all our righteousness; We are all withered like a leaf, And our sins, like a storm, have blown us away.
7 Nanpwen moun ki rele non Ou, ki leve pou atache a Ou menm; paske Ou te kache figi Ou a nou menm e te livre nou nan pouvwa inikite nou yo.
There is none that calleth upon thy name, That stirreth himself up to cleave to thee; For thou hidest thy face from us, And lettest us perish by our iniquities.
8 Pou sa, O SENYÈ, Ou se Papa nou, nou se ajil la e se Ou ki met kanari a; nou tout se zèv men Ou yo.
But now, O Jehovah, thou art our father; We are the clay, and thou hast formed us; We are all of us the work of thy hands.
9 Pa vin fache depase, O SENYÈ, ni sonje inikite nou yo pou tout tan. Gade byen, gade koulye a, nou tout se pèp Ou a.
Be not wroth, O Jehovah, to the uttermost, Nor remember our iniquity forever! Behold, look upon us, we beseech thee, we are all thy people!
10 Vil sen Ou yo te vin yon dezè; Sion te vin yon dezè, Jérusalem yon kote dezole.
Thy holy cities have become a wilderness; Zion is become a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.
11 Bèl kay sen nou an, kote papa nou yo te ba Ou lwanj yo, te brile ak dife; epi tout bagay ki te chè a nou menm te vin kraze nèt.
Our holy and glorious house, Where our fathers praised thee, Is burned with fire, And all our precious things are laid waste.
12 Èske Ou va ralanti Ou menm, devan bagay sa yo, O SENYÈ? Èske Ou va rete an silans e bannou lapèn ki depase mezi a?
Wilt thou contain thyself at these things, O Jehovah, Wilt thou keep silence, and still grievously afflict us?
