< Ezayi 38 >
1 Nan jou sa yo, Ézéchias te vin malad, prèt pou mouri. Epi Ésaïe, pwofèt la, fis a Amots la, te vin kote li. Li te di l: “Konsa pale SENYÈ a: ‘Mete lakay ou an lòd, paske ou va mouri; ou p ap viv.’”
In those days hath Hezekiah been sick unto death, and come in unto him doth Isaiah son of Amoz, the prophet, and saith unto him, 'Thus said Jehovah: Give a charge to thy house, for thou [art] dying, and dost not live.'
2 Ézéchias te vire figi li vè mi kay la pou te priye a SENYÈ a.
And Hezekiah turneth round his face unto the wall, and prayeth unto Jehovah,
and saith, 'I pray thee, O Jehovah, remember, I pray Thee, how I have walked habitually before Thee in truth, and with a perfect heart, and that which [is] good in thine eyes I have done;' and Hezekiah weepeth — a great weeping.
4 Alò, pawòl SENYÈ a te rive kote Ésaïe, epi te di l:
And a word of Jehovah is unto Isaiah, saying,
5 “Ale pale ak Ézéchias epi di li: ‘Konsa pale SENYÈ a: “Mwen te tande lapriyè ou, Mwen te wè dlo ki t ap sòti nan zye ou. Gade byen, Mwen va mete kenzan sou lavi ou.
Go, and thou hast said to Hezekiah, Thus said Jehovah, God of David thy father, 'I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tear, lo, I am adding to thy days fifteen years,
6 Mwen va delivre ou ak vil sa a soti nan men a wa Assyrie a, epi Mwen va defann vil sa a.”’
and out of the hand of the king of Asshur I deliver thee and this city, and have covered over this city.
7 Konsa, sa va sign pou ou soti nan SENYÈ a, ke SENYÈ a va fè bagay sa ke Li te pale a:
And this [is] to thee the sign from Jehovah, that Jehovah doth this thing that He hath spoken.
Lo, I am bringing back the shadow of the degrees that it hath gone down on the degrees of Ahaz, by the sun, backward ten degrees:' and the sun turneth back ten degrees in the degrees that it had gone down.
9 Men yon chanson ke Ézéchias te ekri apre li te malad e te vin refè a:
A writing of Hezekiah king of Judah concerning his being sick, when he reviveth from his sickness:
10 Mwen te di: “Nan mitan lavi m, mwen gen pou antre nan pòtay Sejou mò yo. Mwen gen pou pèdi tout rès ane mwen yo.” (Sheol )
'I — I said in the cutting off of my days, I go in to the gates of Sheol, I have numbered the remnant of mine years. (Sheol )
11 Mwen te di: “Mwen p ap wè SENYÈ a; SENYÈ nan peyi vivan yo. Mwen p ap wè moun ankò pami sila ki viv nan mond yo.
I said, I do not see Jah — Jah! In the land of the living, I do not behold man any more, With the inhabitants of the world.
12 Tankou tant a yon bèje, lakay mwen va rache retire sou mwen. Tankou yon bòs twal, m ap woule fè monte lavi m. L ap koupe m fè m sòti nan ankadreman bòs twal la. Soti lajounen rive nan lannwit, Ou va fè yon fen ak mwen.
My sojourning hath departed, And been removed from me as a shepherd's tent, I have drawn together, as a weaver, my life, By weakness it cutteth me off, From day unto night Thou dost end me.
13 Mwen te kalme nanm mwen jis rive nan maten. Tankou yon lyon—se konsa Li kraze tout zo m, soti lajounen jis rive lannwit, ou fè yon fen ak mwen.
I have set [Him] till morning as a lion, So doth He break all my bones, From day unto night Thou dost end me.
14 Tankou yon iwondèl, tankou yon zwazo se konsa mwen kriye. Mwen plenyen kon yon toutrèl. Zye m gade ak feblès vè wotè yo. O Senyè, mwen oprime! Fè m sekou!
As a crane — a swallow — so I chatter, I mourn as a dove, Drawn up have been mine eyes on high, O Jehovah, oppression [is] on me, be my surety.
15 Kisa mwen kapab di? Non sèlman Li te pale ak mwen, Men Li, Li menm, te fè l. Mwen va mache an règ pandan tout ane m yo akoz gou anmè kè m fin goute.
— What do I say? seeing He said to me, And He Himself hath wrought, I go softly all my years for the bitterness of my soul.
16 O Senyè, se pou bagay sa yo ke moun viv, e nan sa yo, lespri m jwenn lavi. Ou te fè m twouve lasante e te fè m viv!
Lord, by these do [men] live, And by all in them [is] the life of my spirit, And Thou savest me, make me also to live,
17 Alò, mwen te manke gen lapè; men Ou menm ki te kenbe nanm mwen, pou l pa antre nan fòs gwo abim nan, Ou te jete tout peche m yo dèyè do Ou.
Lo, to peace He changed for me bitterness, And Thou hast delighted in my soul without corruption, For Thou hast cast behind Thy back all my sins.
18 Paske Sejou mò yo p ap ka remèsye Ou. Lanmò menm p ap ka bay Ou lwanj. Sila ki desann nan fos yo p ap ka gen espwa fidelite Ou. (Sheol )
For Sheol doth not confess Thee, Death doth not praise Thee, Those going down to the pit hope not for Thy truth. (Sheol )
19 Se vivan, vivan yo ki bay Ou remèsiman, tankou mwen menm, mwen fè jodi a. Yon papa va pale ak fis li yo selon fidelite Ou.
The living, the living, he doth confess Thee.
20 Anverite, SENYÈ a va sove mwen. Konsa, nou va chante chanson mwen yo sou enstriman kòd yo pou tout lavi nou lakay SENYÈ a.”
Like myself to-day — a father to sons Doth make known of Thy faithfulness, O Jehovah — to save me: And my songs we sing all days of our lives In the house of Jehovah.'
21 Alò Ésaïe te di: “Kite yo fè yon pomad ak gato fig etranje e mete li sou abse a, pou l ka geri.”
And Isaiah saith, 'Let them take a bunch of figs, and plaster over the ulcer, and he liveth.'
22 Epi Ézéchias te di: “Se kisa k ap sign ke mwen va monte lakay SENYÈ a?”
And Hezekiah saith, 'What [is] the sign that I go up to the house of Jehovah!'
