< Ezayi 3 >
1 Paske gade byen, Senyè BONDYE dèzame yo va retire sou Jérusalem ak Juda ni sipò, ni mwayen materyo, tout sa ki pou founi pen e tout sa ki pou founi dlo;
For behold, the sovereign Lord of hosts will take away, from Jerusalem and from Judah, the powerful and the strong: all the strength from bread, and all the strength from water;
2 Nonm pwisan an, gèrye la, jij ak pwofèt la, divinò a ak ansyen an,
the strong man, and the man of war, the judge and the prophet, and the seer and the elder;
3 Kapitèn dè senkant yo, nonm ki resevwa onè a, konseye a, atizan an, ak sila ki fò nan fè wanga a.
the leader over fifty and the honorable in appearance; and the counselor, and the wise among builders, and the skillful in mystical speech.
4 Konsa, Mwen va fè senp tigason yo vin chèf sou yo, e timoun san kontwòl yo va vin renye sou yo.
And I will provide children as their leaders, and the effeminate will rule over them.
5 Epi pèp la va oprime, youn pa yon lòt e chak pa vwazen li; jenn yo va fè rebèl kont granmoun yo e sila ki enferyè a kont sila ki gen onè a.
And the people will rush, man against man, and each one against his neighbor. The child shall rebel against the elder, and the ignoble against the noble.
6 Lè yon nonm mete men l sou frè l lakay papa l, epi di: “Se ou ki gen manto a, se ou k ap chèf nou an, e tout miray kraze sa yo va anba pouvwa ou”,
For a man will apprehend his brother, from the household of his own father, saying: “The vestment is yours. Be our leader, but let this ruin be under your hand.”
7 Nan jou sa a, li va diskite ak yo e li va di: “Se pa mwen menm k ap geri nou an; paske lakay mwen pa gen ni pen, ni manto; se pa mwen menm pou nou ta chwazi chèf sou pèp la.”
In that day, he will respond by saying: “I am not a healer, and there is no bread or vestment in my house. Do not choose to appoint me as a leader of the people.”
8 Paske Jérusalem chape glise e Juda fin tonbe akoz pawòl ak zak yo kont SENYÈ a; pou yo fè rebèl kont prezans sen Li an.
For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah has fallen, because their words and their plans are against the Lord, in order to provoke the eyes of his majesty.
9 Vizaj figi yo fè temwen kont yo, e yo montre tout moun peche yo tankou Sodome. Yo pa menm kache sa a. Malè a yo menm! Paske yo mennen mal la vin tonbe sou yo.
The acknowledgement of their countenance is their response. For they have proclaimed their own sin, like Sodom; and they have not concealed it. Woe to their souls! For evils are being repaid to them.
10 Di a moun dwat yo sa prale byen pou yo, paske yo va manje fwi a zèv yo.
Tell the just man that it is well, for he shall eat from the fruit from his own plans.
11 Malè a mechan an! Sa prale mal pou li. Paske sa li merite a, se sa k ap rive li.
Woe to the impious man immersed in evil! For retribution will be given to him from his own hands.
12 O pèp Mwen an! Moun ki oprime yo se timoun ak fanm ki gouvène sou yo. O pèp Mwen an! Sila k ap gide ou yo, egare ou, e konfonn direksyon chemen nou yo.
As for my people, their oppressors have despoiled them, and women have ruled over them. My people, who call you blessed, the same are deceiving you and disrupting the path of your steps.
13 Se SENYÈ a ki parèt kon advèsè yo e ki kanpe pou jije pèp la.
The Lord stands for judgment, and he stands to judge the people.
14 SENYÈ a antre nan jijman ak ansyen ak prens a pèp Li a. “Se nou ki te devore chan rezen an; piyaj malere a fèt anndan lakay nou.
The Lord will enter into judgment with the elders of his people, and with their leaders. For you have been devouring the vineyard, and the plunder from the poor is in your house.
15 Se kilès ki bannou dwa pou kraze pèp Mwen an, e foule figi malere yo?” SENYÈ dèzame yo pale.
Why do you wear down my people, and grind up the faces of the poor, says the Lord, the God of hosts?
16 Anplis SENYÈ a di: “Akoz fi a Sion yo ògeye, mache ak tèt anlè ak zye k ap sedwi, mache ak ti pa kout pou atire zye gason, e fè sone tout ti son braslè sou pye yo.
And the Lord said: Because the daughters of Zion have been lifted up, and have walked with extended necks and winking eyes, because they have continued on, walking noisily and advancing with a pretentious stride,
17 Pou sa, SENYÈ a va aflije tèt fi a Sion yo ak kal, e SENYÈ a va fè tèt yo chòv.”
the Lord will make the heads of the daughters of Zion bald, and the Lord will strip them of the locks of their hair.
18 Nan jou sa a, SENYÈ a va retire bèlte a braslè pye yo, bando sou tèt yo, dekorasyon kwasan yo,
In that day, the Lord will take away their decorative shoes,
19 zanno zòrèy yo, braslè yo, vwal yo,
and the little moons and chains, and the necklaces and bracelets, and the hats,
20 dekorasyon tèt yo, chenn nan pye yo, bèl twal sentiwon yo ak bwat pafen yo, bwòch yo,
and the ornaments for their hair, and the anklets, and the touches of myrrh and little bottles of perfumes, and the earrings,
21 bag dwèt yo, zanno nen yo.
and the rings, and the jewels hanging on their foreheads,
22 Vètman gwo fèt yo, gwo manto yo, bous lajan yo,
and the continual changes in appearance, and the short skirts, and the fine linens and embroidered cloths,
23 miwa men yo, ti sou-vètman yo, tiban yo, ak vwal yo.
and the mirrors, and scarves, and ribbons, and their sparse clothing.
24 Epi li va fin rive ke olye sant pafen dous, ap gen move odè pouriti; olye se sentiwon, ap gen yon kòd; olye se cheve swa byen ranje, ap gen yon tèt chòv; olye se bèl vètman, ya mete twal sak; epi y ap pote etanp sou kò pou ranplase bote.
And in place of a sweet fragrance, there will be stench. And in place of a belt, there will be a rope. And in place of stylish hair, there will be baldness. And in place of a blouse, there will be haircloth.
25 Gason nou yo va tonbe devan nepe, ak moun pwisan nou yo nan batay.
Likewise, your most handsome men will fall by the sword, and your strong men will fall in battle.
26 Epi pòtay vil la va kriye fò ak lamantasyon, doulè ak dezolasyon nèt. Li va chita atè.
And her gates will grieve and mourn. And she will sit on the ground, desolate.
