< Oze 12 >

1 Éphraïm manje sou van, e kouri dèyè van lès la. Li kontinye ap ogmante nan manti ak vyolans. Anplis, li fè yon akò ak Assyrie e lwil vin pote an Égypte.
But Ephraim is an evil spirit, he has chased the east wind all the day: he has multiplied empty and vain things, and made a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil has gone in the way of traffic into Egypt.
2 Plis toujou, SENYÈ a gen yon kont ak Juda e Li va pini Jacob selon chemen li yo. Li va rekonpanse li selon zak li yo.
And the Lord [has] a controversy with Juda, in order to punish Jacob: according to his ways and according to his practices will he recompense him.
3 Nan vant manman, li te kenbe frè l pa talon; epi lè l fin grandi, li te lite ak Bondye.
He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and in his labours he had power with God.
4 Wi, li te lite ak zanj lan, e li te enpoze l; li te kriye e li te chache favè li. Li te jwenn Li Béthel, e se la, Li te pale ak nou.
And he prevailed with the angel and was strong: they wept, and entreated me: they found me in the house of On, and there [a word] was spoken to them.
5 Menm SENYÈ a, Bondye dèzame yo, SENYÈ a se non Li!
But the Lord God Almighty shall be his memorial.
6 Pou sa, retounen kote Bondye ou a, Swiv ladousè ak lajistis, e tann Bondye ou a tout tan.
You therefore shall return to your God: keep you mercy and judgement, and draw near to your God continually.
7 Men yon machann, ak fo balans lan nan men l. Li renmen twonpe moun.
[As for] Chanaan, in his hand is a balance of unrighteousness: he has loved to tyrannize.
8 Éphraïm te di: “Anverite, mwen gen tan vin rich. Mwen te twouve richès mwen pou kont mwen; Nan tout zèv mwen yo, yo p ap dekouvri okenn inikite, ki ta peche.”
And Ephraim said, Nevertheless I am rich, I have found refreshment to myself. None of his labours shall be found [available] to him, by reason of the sins which he has committed.
9 Men Mwen menm, SENYÈ Bondye ou, depi nan peyi Égypte la, va fè ou viv nan tant ankò, tankou nan jou fèt deziye yo.
But I the Lord your God brought you up out of the land of Egypt: I will yet cause you to dwell in tabernacles, according to the days of the feast.
10 Anplis, Mwen te pale ak pwofèt yo e mwen te miltipliye vizyon yo; epi selon ministè pwofèt yo, mwen te sèvi parabòl.
And I will speak to the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and by the means of the prophets I was represented.
11 Èske gen inikite nan Galaad? Anverite, yo tout san valè. Nan Guilgal, yo fè sakrifis towo; wi lotèl pa yo tankou pil wòch nan mitan chan.
If Galaad exists not, then the chiefs in Galaad when they sacrificed were false, and their altars were as heaps on the ground of the field.
12 Alò, Jacob te sove ale nan peyi Aram, Israël te travay pou resevwa yon madanm. Pou yon madanm, li te fè gadyen mouton.
And Jacob retreated into the plain of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and waited for a wife.
13 Epi pa yon pwofèt, SENYÈ a te mennen Israël sòti an Égypte. Pa yon pwofèt, li te vin prezève.
And the Lord brought Israel out of the land of Egypt by a prophet, and by a prophet was he preserve.
14 Éphraïm te pwovoke gwo kòlè amè. Akoz sa, Senyè li va kite san li koule sou li, e fè repwòch li tounen sou li.
Ephraim was angry and excited, therefore his blood shall be poured out upon him, and the Lord shall recompense to him his reproach.
