< Jenèz 32 >
1 Alò, pandan Jacob te fin pran wout li, zanj Bondye yo te rankontre li.
And Jacob he went to way his and they met him [the] angels of God.
And he said Jacob just when he saw them [is] [the] camp of God this and he called [the] name of the place that Mahanaim.
3 Alò, Jacob te voye mesaje yo devan li kote frè li Ésaü nan peyi Séir a nan teritwa Édom an.
And he sent Jacob messengers before him to Esau brother his [the] land of towards Seir [the] region of Edom.
4 Li te bay mesaje yo lòd, e li te di: “Konsa ou va pale a mèt mwen an, Ésaü: ‘Men sa ke sèvitè ou, Jacob di ou: Mwen te vin rete avèk Laban, e mwen te demere la jis rive koulye a.
And he commanded them saying thus you will say! to lord my to Esau thus he says servant your Jacob with Laban I have sojourned and I have delayed until now.
5 Mwen gen bèf avèk bourik, avèk bann mouton, sèvitè avèk sèvant. M ap voye pou di mèt mwen sa, pou m kapab vin jwenn favè nan zye w.’”
And it be[longs] to me ox[en] and donkey[s] flock[s] and [male] servant[s] and female servant[s] and I have sent! to tell to lord my to find favor in view your.
6 Mesaje yo te retounen vè Jacob. Yo te di li: “Nou te rankontre frè ou Ésaü. Konsa, li ap vin kote ou avèk kat-san òm.”
And they returned the messengers to Jacob saying we went to brother your to Esau and also [he is] coming to meet you and four hundred man [are] with him.
And he was afraid Jacob exceedingly and it was distress to him and he divided the people which [was] with him and the flock and the herd and the camels into two camps.
8 Konsa, li te di: “Si Ésaü ta vin atake youn nan konpanyen yo, alò, konpanyen ki rete a va chape.”
And he said if he will come Esau to the camp one and he will attack it and it will become the camp which remains an escaped remnant.
9 Jacob te di: “O Bondye a papa m nan Abraham e Bondye a papa m nan Isaac, O SENYÈ ki te di mwen an: ‘Retounen nan peyi ou, e a moun fanmi ou yo, e mwen va fè ou vin pwospere,’
And he said Jacob O God of father my Abraham and [the] God of father my Isaac O Yahweh who said to me return to land your and to kindred your so let me do good with you.
10 mwen pa merite tout lanmou, mizerikòd ak fidelite ke ou te montre sèvitè ou a; paske se sèl avèk baton mwen ke m te travèse rivyè Jourdain an, men koulye a nou vin de konpanyen.
I am [too] insignificant for all the covenant loyalti and for all the faithfulness which you have done with servant your for with staff my I passed over the Jordan this and now I have become two camps.
11 Delivre mwen, souple anba men frè m nan, anba men Ésaü; paske mwen pè li, pou li pa vin atake mwen avèk manman yo, ak timoun yo.
Deliver me please from [the] hand of brother my from [the] hand of Esau for [am] fearing I him lest he should come and he will attack me mother with children.
12 Paske ou te di: ‘Anverite, Mwen va fè nou vin pwospere, e fè desandan nou yo vin tankou sab lanmè a, k ap twò gran pou konte.’”
And you you have said certainly I will do good with you and I will make offspring your like [the] sand of the sea which not it will be counted from multitude.
13 Epi li te pase nwit lan la. Alò, li te chwazi nan sa li te gen avè l yo kòm yon kado pou frè li, Ésaü:
And he stayed [the] night there in the night that and he took some of which came in hand his a gift for Esau brother his.
14 De-san kabrit femèl, ven kabrit mal, de-san femèl mouton, ak ven mal,
Female goats two hundred and male goats twenty ewes two hundred and rams twenty.
15 trant chamo ki t ap bay lèt a pitit pa yo, karant bèf avèk dis towo, ven bourik femèl, ak dis ti bourik.
Camels suckling and young their thirty cows forty and bulls ten female donkeys twenty and male donkeys ten.
16 Li te livre yo nan men a sèvitè li yo. Chak ekip te mache pou kont li, e li te di a sèvitè li yo: “Pase devan m, e mete yon espas antre de bann yo.”
And he gave [them] in [the] hand of servants his herd herd to only it and he said to servants his pass over before me and a space you will put between a herd and between a herd.
17 Li te kòmande sila ki te devan an e li te di li: “Lè frè m Ésaü vin rankontre ou, e mande ou: ‘Pou kilès ou ye, kibò w prale, e pou kilès bèt sa yo ki devan ou yo ye?’
And he commanded the first saying that he will meet you Esau brother my and he will ask you saying [belong] to whom? you and where? are you going and [belong] to whom? these [animals] before you.
18 Alò, ou va di: ‘Se pou sèvitè ou, Jacob. Se yon kado ke li voye bay mèt mwen, Ésaü. Men gade byen, li la dèyè nou.’”
And you will say to servant your to Jacob [is] a gift it [which has] been sent to lord my to Esau and there! also he [is] behind us.
And he commanded both the second as well as the third as well as all who were going behind the herds saying according to the manner this you will speak! to Esau when find you him.
20 Ou va di: ‘Gade, men sèvitè ou Jacob dèyè nou an tou.’ Paske li te di: ‘Mwen va satisfè li avèk kado ki ale devan m yo. E apre, mwen va wè figi li. Petèt li kapab aksepte mwen.’”
And you will say also there! servant your Jacob [is] behind us for he said I will cover face his by the gift that is going before me and after thus I will see face his perhaps he will lift up face my.
21 Epi kado a te pase devan li, e li menm te pase nwit lan menm kote li te fè kan an.
And it passed on the gift on face his and he [was] staying [the] night in the night that in the camp.
22 Alò, li te leve pandan menm nwit lan, e li te pran de madanm li yo avèk de sèvant li yo, onz pitit li yo, e li te travèse lariviyè a bò kote Jabbok la.
And he rose - in the night that and he took [the] two wives his and [the] two maidservants his and one [plus] ten sons his and he passed over [the] ford of Jabbok.
And he took them and he sent over them the wadi and he sent over [that] which [belonged] to him.
24 Konsa, Jacob te rete tout sèl, e yon nonm te vin lite avèk li jis rive granmmaten.
And he remained Jacob to only him and he wrestled a man with him until came up the dawn.
25 Lè li te wè ke li pa t genyen l, li te touche gwo jwenti janm li (anwo kote l tache nan kò a), epi li te vin dejwente pandan li t ap lite avè l.
And he saw that not he prevailed to him and he touched [the] socket of thigh his and it was dislocated [the] socket of [the] thigh of Jacob when wrestled he with him.
26 Epi nonm nan te di: “Lage m, paske jou a pwòch.” Men Jacob te di: “Mwen p ap lage ou amwenske ke ou beni m.”
And he said let go me for it has come up the dawn and he said not I will let go you that except you have blessed me.
27 Alò, li te di li: “Kòman yo rele ou?” Li te reponn: “Jacob.”
And he said to him what? [is] name your and he said Jacob.
28 Li te di: “Yo p ap rele ou Jacob ankò, men Israël; paske ou te lite avèk Bondye, e avèk lòm, epi ou te reyisi.”
And he said not Jacob it will be called again name your that except Israel for you have struggled with God and with people and you have prevailed.
And he asked Jacob and he said tell! please name your and he said why? this do you ask to name my and he blessed him there.
And he called Jacob [the] name of the place Peniel for I have seen God face to face and it has been delivered life my.
31 Alò, solèy la te leve sou li nan menm moman li t ap travèse Peniel la, e li te bwate akoz gwo janm nan.
And it rose to him the sun just when he passed over Penuel and he [was] limping on thigh his.
There-fore not they eat [the] people of Israel [the] sinew of the tendon which [is] on [the] socket of the thigh until the day this for he touched [the] socket of [the] thigh of Jacob [the] sinew of the tendon.
