< Ezekyèl 15 >

1 Konsa, pawòl SENYÈ a te vin kote mwen. Li te di:
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
2 Fis a lòm, kisa bwa chan rezen fè pou l pi bon pase nenpòt bwa branch lyann yo ki pami pyebwa forè yo?
“Son of man, what can be made from the stalk of a vine, compared to all the plants of the woods that are among the trees of the forests?
3 Èske ou ka retire bwa sou li pou fè yon bagay, oswa èske moun ka fè yon kwòk ak li pou pann veso?
Can any wood be taken from it, so that it may be made into a work, or formed into a peg so as to hang some kind of vessel upon it?
4 Si yo te mete li nan dife la pou brile, dife a fin manje de pwent li e mitan an fin boukannen tounwa. Konsa, èske li ka itil pou yon bagay?
Behold, it is used in the fire as fuel. The fire consumes both its ends; and its middle is reduced to ashes. So how can it be useful for any work?
5 Gade byen, pandan li an bòn fòm nan, li pa itil anyen. Konbyen anmwens lè dife fin manje li e vin boukannen l tounwa a, pou l ka itil pou fè yon bagay!
Even when it was whole, it was unsuitable for a work. How much more so, when fire has devoured it and burned it up, will nothing of it be useful?
6 Pou sa, konsa pale Senyè BONDYE a: “Jan lyann yo pami tout pyebwa forè yo, ke m te bay nan dife pou brile a, se konsa mwen te bay moun ki rete Jérusalem yo.
Therefore, thus says the Lord God: Like the stalk of the vine among the trees of the forests, which I have given to be devoured by fire, so will I deliver the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
7 Mwen mete figi M kont yo. Byenke yo te sòti nan dife a, malgre sa, dife a va manje yo. Ou va konnen ke Mwen se SENYÈ a, lè Mwen mete figi M kont yo.
And I will set my face against them. They will go away from fire, and yet fire will consume them. And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I will have set my face against them,
8 Konsa, Mwen va fè tè a vin dezole, akoz yo te aji ak enfidelite,” deklare Senyè BONDYE a.
and when I will have made their land impassable and desolate. For they have stood forth as transgressors, says the Lord God.”
