< Deteronòm 14 >
1 “Nou se fis a SENYÈ a, Bondye nou an. Nou p ap blese kò nou, ni pase razwa sou fwon nou pou koz lanmò.
“Be sons of the Lord your God. You shall not cut yourselves, nor make yourselves bald, because of the dead.
2 Paske nou se yon pèp ki sen a SENYÈ a, Bondye nou an. SENYÈ a te chwazi ou kòm yon pèp pou pwòp posesyon pa Li, sòti nan tout pèp ki sou sifas tè a.
For you are a holy people, for the Lord your God. And he chose you, so that you may be a people particularly his, out of all the nations on earth.
3 “Nou pa pou manje okenn bagay abominab.
You shall not eat the things that are unclean.
4 Sila yo se bèt ke nou kapab manje: bèf, mouton, kabrit,
These are the animals which you ought to eat: the ox, and the sheep, and the goat,
5 Sèf, kabrit mawon, den, bèf mawon, boukten, antilòp, ak mouton mòn.
the stag and the roe deer, the gazelle, the wild goat, the addax, the antelope, the giraffe.
6 Nenpòt bèt ak zago divize ki remonte manje li pami tout bèt yo, sila nou kapab manje.
Every beast which has a hoof divided into two parts and which also chews the cud, you shall eat.
7 “Sepandan, pami sila ki remonte manje yo, oswa sila ki divize zago an de yo: chamo, lapèn ak daman; akoz, malgre yo remonte manje, yo pa divize zago yo, yo pa pwòp pou nou.
But those which chew over again, but do not have a divided hoof, you must not eat, such as the camel, the hare, and the hyrax. Since these chew the cud, but do not have a divided the hoof, they shall be unclean to you.
8 Kochon, paske li divize zago a, men pa remonte manje, li pa pwòp pou nou. Nou pa pou manje anyen nan chè li, ni touche kò mouri yo.
The pig also, since it has a divided hoof, but does not chew over again, shall be unclean. Their flesh shall not be eaten, and you shall not touch their carcasses.
9 “Sila nou kapab manje nan tout sa ki nan dlo yo: Nou ka manje nenpòt sa ki gen zèl naje avèk kal,
These you shall eat out of all that dwells in the waters: whatever has fins and scales, you shall eat.
10 men okenn nan yo ki pa gen zèl naje avèk kal, nou pa pou manje yo; se pa pwòp pou nou.
Whatever is without fins and scales, you shall not eat, for these are unclean.
11 “Nou kapab manje nenpòt zwazo ki pwòp.
All the clean birds, you shall eat.
12 Men sila ke nou pa pou manje yo: èg, lòfre ak malfini lanmè,
You shall not eat those that are unclean: such as the eagle, and the griffin, and the osprey,
13 milan wouj, otou, votou ak tout kalite parèy yo,
the crane, and the vulture, and the kite, according to their kind,
14 kòbo ak tout kalite parèy yo,
and any kind of raven,
15 otrich, ibou, poul dlo, ak malfini avèk tout kalite parèy yo,
and the ostrich, and the owl, and the gull, and the hawk, according to their kind,
16 koukou, frize, gwo kana mawon blan,
the heron, and the swan, and the ibis,
17 grangozye, plonjon, chwèt,
and the sea bird, the marsh hen, and the night raven,
18 sigòy, krabye, ak kalite parèy yo, sèpantye, tchotcho ak chòv-souri.
the pelican and the plover, each in their kind, likewise the crested hoopoe and the bat.
19 “Tout reptil avèk zèl pa pwòp pou nou. Yo pa pou manje.
And anything which crawls and also has little wings shall be unclean, and shall not be eaten.
20 Nou kapab manje nenpòt zwazo ki pwòp.
All that is clean, you shall eat.
But whatever has died of itself, you shall not eat from it. Give it to the sojourner, who is within your gates, so that he may eat, or sell it to him. For you are the holy people of the Lord your God. You shall not boil a young goat in the milk of his mother.
22 “Chak ane, nou va, anverite, bay ladim nan tout pwodwi a sila ke nou plante yo, ki sòti nan chan.
Each year, you shall separate the tithes out of all your crops which spring forth from the earth.
23 Nou va manje nan prezans SENYÈ a, kote Li chwazi pou etabli non Li an, dim a sereyal nou, a diven nèf nou, a lwil nou, premye ne a twoupo nou ak bann mouton nou, pou nou kapab vin aprann krent SENYÈ a, Bondye nou an, jis pou tout tan.
And you shall eat these in the sight of the Lord your God, in the place which he will choose, so that his name may be invoked there: the tenth part of your grain and wine and oil, and the firstborn from the herds and your sheep. So may you learn to fear the Lord your God at all times.
24 “Si distans lan tèlman gran pou nou, pou nou pa kapab pote yon dim, akoz kote SENYÈ Bondye nou an chwazi pou mete non Li an twò lwen nou, lè SENYÈ Bondye nou an, beni nou,
But when the way and the place which the Lord your God will have chosen is further away, and he will have blessed you, so that you are not able to carry all these things to it,
25 alò, nou va twoke li pou lajan; epi mare lajan an nan men nou pou ale kote SENYÈ Bondye nou an, chwazi a.
you shall sell them all, so as to turn them into money, and you shall carry it in your hand, and you shall set out for the place which the Lord will choose.
26 Nou kapab depanse lajan an pou nenpòt sa ke kè nou dezire: pou bèf kabwèt, oswa mouton, oswa diven, oswa bwason ki fò, oswa nenpòt sa kè nou dezire; epi la, nou va manje nan prezans SENYÈ a, Bondye nou an; epi rejwi nou menm avèk tout lakay nou.
And you shall buy with the same money whatever pleases you, either from the herds or from the sheep, and also wine and liquor, and all that your soul desires. And you shall eat in the sight of the Lord your God, and you shall feast: you and your household.
27 Osi, nou p ap neglije Levit ki nan vil nou an, paske li pa gen pati ni eritaj pami nou.
As for the Levite, who is within your gates, take care that you do not abandon him, for he has no other portion within your possession.
28 “Nan fen chak twazyèm ane, nou va pote tout dim a sila nou pwodwi pou ane sa a, e nou va depoze li nan pwòp vil pa nou an.
In the third year, you shall separate another tenth part of all the things which spring forth for you at that time, and you shall store it within your gates.
29 Levit la, akoz li pa gen pati oswa eritaj pami nou, e etranje, òfelen, ak vèv ki nan vil nou yo, yo va manje e satisfè, jis pou SENYÈ a, Bondye nou an, beni nou nan tout travay ke men nou fè.
And the Levite, who has no other portion or possession with you, and the sojourner as well as the orphan and the widow who are within your gates, shall approach and eat and be satisfied, so that the Lord your God may bless you in all the works of your hands which you shall do.”
