< 1 Istwa 12 >

Now these, are they who came unto David, to Ziklag, he yet being shut up, because of Saul son of Kish, —and, they, were among the heroes, helpers in the war;
2 Yo te pote banza, te voye wòch avèk fistibal ni sou men dwat, ni sou men goch, e tire flèch yo ak banza a. Se te fanmi a Saul, soti nan tribi Benjamin an.
armed with the bow, using right hand or left with stones, and with arrows in the bow, —of the brethren of Saul, out of Benjamin:
3 Chèf la te Achiézer, swivi pa Joas, fis a Schemaa a, Gibeonit lan; Jeziel ak Péleth, fis a Azmaveth yo; epi Beraca; Jéhu, Anatotit la;
the chief, Ahiezer, and Joash, sons of Shemaah the Gibeathite, and Jeziel and Pelet, sons of Azmaveth, —and Beracah, and Jehu the Anathothite;
4 Jischmaeia, Gabaonit lan, yon mesye pwisan pami trant yo, e tèt a trant yo, epi Jérémie; Jachaziel; Jochannan'; Jozabad, Guedérait la;
and Ishmaiah, the Gibeonite, a hero among the thirty, and over the thirty, —and Jeremiah and Jahaziel, and Johanan, and Jozabad, the Gederathite;
5 Éluzaï; Jerimoth; Bealia; Schemaria; Schephathia, Awofit la;
Eluzai and Jerimoth and Bealiah and Shemariah, and Shephatiah, the Haruphite;
6 Elkana, Jeschija, Azareel, Joézer ak Jaschobeam, Koreyit yo;
Elkanah and Isshiah, and Azarel, and Joezer and Jashobeam, the Korahites;
7 ak Joéla avèk Zebadia, fis a Jerocham yo, Gedorit la.
and Joelah and Zebadiah, sons of Jeroham, of Gedor.
8 Soti nan Gadit yo, te antre rive kote David nan fò dezè a, mesye pwisan avèk anpil kouraj ki te fè antrenman pou fè lagè, ki te konn manyen boukliye avèk lans, avèk figi yo tankou figi a lyon, e yo vit tankou antilòp nan mòn.
And, of the Gadites, there separated themselves unto David, to the stronghold towards the desert, heroes of valour, men of war, for battle, men that could handle shield and spear, —and, faces of lions, were their faces, and, like gazelles upon the mountains, were they, for swiftness:
9 Ézer, chèf la, Abdias, dezyèm nan, Éliab, twazyèm nan,
Ezer, the chief, Obadiah, the second, —Eliab, the third;
10 Mischmanna, katriyèm nan, Jérémie, senkyèm nan,
Mashmannah, the fourth, Jeremiah, the fifth;
11 Attaï, sizyèm nan, Éliel, setyèm nan,
Attai, the sixth, Eliel the seventh;
12 Jochanan, uityèm nan, Elzabad, nevyèm nan,
Johanan, the eighth, Elzabad, the ninth;
13 Jérémie, dizyèm nan, Macbannaï, onzyèm nan.
Jeremiah, the tenth, Machbannai, the eleventh.
14 Sila yo se fis a Gad ki te kapitèn lame a; sila ki te pi piti a te egal a yon santèn moun e pifò a, a yon milye.
These, were of the sons of Gad, chiefs of the host, —one to a hundred, the least, and, the greatest, to a thousand.
These, are they who passed over the Jordan, in the first month, when, it, was full, over all its banks, —and they put to flight all them of the vales, to the east and to the west.
16 Konsa, kèk nan fis a Benjamin yo te vin rive nan fò a David la.
And there came, of the sons of Benjamin, and Judah, as far as the stronghold, unto David.
17 David te sòti pou rankontre yo. Li te di yo: “Si se nan lapè nou vin kote mwen, pou ede m, kè m va reyini ansanm avèk nou. Men si se pou trayi mwen a advèsè mwen yo, akoz nanpwen mal nan men m, ke Bondye a zansèt nou yo gade sou sa pou deside.”
And David went forth to meet them, and responded, and said to them, If, peaceably, ye are come unto me, to help me, I shall have towards you, a heart for unity, —but, if to betray me to mine adversaries, there being no violence in my hands, may the God of our fathers see and rebuke!
18 Alò, Lespri a te vini sou Amasaï, ki te chèf a trant yo, “Nou se pa w, O David, Epi avèk ou, O fis a Jesse a! Lapè, lapè a ou menm Epi lapè avèk sila ki ede ou! Anverite, Bondye ou a ap ede ou!” Konsa David te resevwa yo e te fè yo kapitèn nan ekip la.
Then, the spirit, clothed Amasai, chief of the thirty, Thine, O David, Yea, with, thee, O son of Jesse! Prosperity, prosperity to thee, And prosperity to thy helpers, For thy God, hath helped thee: So David accepted them, and set them among the chiefs of the band.
And, of Manasseh, there fell away unto David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle, but they helped them not, —for the lords of the Philistines advisedly sent him away, saying, At the price of our heads, he might fall away to his master, Saul.
20 Lè l te ale Tsiklag, men moun Manassé ki te parèt yo: Adnach, Jozabad, Jediaël, Micaël, Jozabad, Élihu ak Tsilthaï, chèf a dè milye nan Manassé yo.
When he went into Ziklag, there fell away unto him, of Manasseh, Adnah and Jozabad, and Jediael and Michael and Jozabad, and Elihu and Zillethai, —chiefs of the thousands that pertained to Manasseh;
21 Yo te ede David kont bann piyajè yo, paske yo tout te mesye pwisan, plen ak kouraj e te kapitèn nan lame a.
and, they, helped with David, against the [marauding] band, for, heroes of valour, were they all, —and they became captains in the host;
22 Paske jou apre jou, moun te vin kote David pou ede l, jiskaske te gen yon gwo lame tankou lame Bondye a.
for, from day to day, there came unto David, to help him, —until it was a great camp, like a camp of God.
And, these, are the numbers of the chiefs armed for war, they came unto David, to Hebron, —to turn round the kingdom of Saul unto him, according to the bidding of Yahweh:
24 Fis a Juda ki te pote boukliye avèk lans yo te si-mil-ui-san, byen prepare pou fè lagè.
Sons of Judah, bearers of shield and spear, six thousand and eight hundred, armed for war.
25 Nan fis a Siméon yo, mesye plen ak kouraj pou fè lagè yo, sèt-mil-san.
Of sons of Simeon, heroes of valour for the war, seven thousand, and one hundred.
26 Nan fis a Lévi yo, kat-mil-sis-san.
Of the sons of Levi, four thousand, and six hundred.

and Zadok, a young man, a hero of valour, —and the house of his father, captains twenty and two.
29 Nan fis Benjamin yo, fanmi a Saül la, twa-mil, paske jis moman sa a, pifò nan yo te rete fidèl a lakay Saul.
And, of the sons of Benjamin, brethren of Saul, three thousand, —and, hitherto, the greater part of them, had been keeping the charge of the house of Saul.
30 Nan fis Éphraïm yo, ven-mil-ui-san mesye pwisan avèk anpil kouraj, byen koni lakay zansèt pa yo.
And, of the sons of Ephraim, twenty thousand, and eight hundred, —heroes of valour, men of renown, to their ancestral house.
And, of the half tribe of Manasseh, eighteen thousand, who were distinguished by name, coming in to make David king.
And, of the sons of Issachar, such as were of good understanding of the times, to know what Israel, should do, their chiefs, were two hundred, and, all their brethren, were at their bidding.
Of Zebulun—such as were ready to go forth in host, expert for battle with all weapons of war, fifty thousand, —and for setting in array, not of two minds!

And, of Naphtali, a thousand captains, —and, with them, with shield and spear, thirty-seven thousand.
35 Nan Danit ki ta kab ranje nan fòmasyon batay yo, te gen venn-tui-mil-sis-san.
And, of the Danite, expert for war, twenty-eight thousand, and six hundred.
And, of Asher, such as were ready to go forth in host to set in array for battle, forty thousand.
37 Soti lòtbò Jourdain an, pa Ribenit ak Gadit yo, avèk mwatye tribi Manassé a, te gen san-ven-mil avèk tout zam lagè pou batay la.
And, from over the Jordan, of the Reubenites and Gadites and half tribe of Manasseh, with all manner of weapons of war for battle, a hundred and twenty thousand.
38 Tout sila yo, mesye lagè ki te konn ranje nan fòmasyon batay yo, te vini Hébron avèk yon sèl kè sensè pou fè David wa.
All these, being men of war, expert in setting in battle-array, with a perfect heart, came to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel, —moreover also, all the rest of Israel, were of one heart to make David king.
39 Yo te la pandan twa jou. Yo t ap manje ak bwè, paske fanmi pa yo te gen tan prepare pou yo.
So they were there, with David, three days, eating and drinking, —for their brethren had made preparation for them.
40 Anplis, sila ki te toupre yo, menm rive lwen tankou Issacar, Zabulon ak Nephthali, yo te pote manje sou bourik yo, chamo yo, milèt yo, avèk bèf yo, gran kantite a gato farin, gato fig etranje, anpil rezen, diven, lwil, bèf avèk mouton. Vrèman, te gen lajwa an Israël.
Moreover also, they who were near of kin unto them, as far as Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, were bringing bread, on asses and on camels and on mules and on oxen, meal-food, cakes of figs and cakes of raisins, and wine, and oil, and oxen, and sheep—in abundance, —for there was joy Israel.
