1 Chante Etan, moun peyi Ezra. Seyè, mwen p'ap janm sispann chante pou fè konnen jan ou renmen nou. Se tout tan m'a fè konnen jan ou se moun ki kenbe pawòl ou.
An instruction, by Ethan the Ezrahite. Of the kind acts of Jehovah, to the age I sing, To all generations I make known Thy faithfulness with my mouth,
2 Ou di konsa: -Pa gen anyen ki pou fè ou sispann renmen nou. Menm jan syèl la ap toujou la, se konsa tou w'ap toujou kenbe pawòl ou.
For I said, 'To the age is kindness built, The heavens! Thou dost establish Thy faithfulness in them.'
3 Ou di konsa: -Mwen pase yon kontra avèk moun mwen te chwazi a. Men sa mwen te pwomèt David, sèvitè mwen an:
I have made a covenant for My chosen, I have sworn to David My servant:
4 W'ap toujou gen yon wa nan pitit pitit ou yo. M'ap fè gouvènman ou lan kanpe fèm pou tout tan.
'Even to the age do I establish thy seed, And have built to generation and generation thy throne. (Selah)
5 Seyè, moun ki nan syèl yo ap chante pou bèl mèvèy ou fè yo. Y'ap chante nan mitan moun k'ap viv pou ou yo, pou fè konnen jan ou toujou kenbe pawòl ou.
and the heavens confess Thy wonders, O Jehovah, Thy faithfulness also [is] in an assembly of holy ones.
6 Seyè, pa gen tankou ou nan syèl la! Pa gen bondye ki ka wè avè ou!
For who in the sky, Compareth himself to Jehovah? Is like to Jehovah among sons of the mighty?
7 Tout moun k'ap sèvi ou yo respekte ou. Tout moun ki bò kote ou yo pè ou.
God is very terrible, In the secret counsel of His holy ones, And fearful over all surrounding Him.
8 Seyè, Bondye ki gen tout pouvwa a, pa gen moun ki gen pouvwa pase ou! Ou kenbe pawòl ou nan tout sikonstans, Seyè!
O Jehovah, God of Hosts, Who [is] like Thee — a strong Jah? And Thy faithfulness [is] round about Thee.
9 Ou dominen sou gwo lanmè yo. Lè yo move, ou fè yo ret dousman.
Thou [art] ruler over the pride of the sea, In the lifting up of its billows Thou dost restrain them.
10 Ou kraze moun peyi Lejip yo, ou fè yo tounen kadav. Avèk fòs ponyèt ou, ou gaye lènmi ou yo.
Thou hast bruised Rahab, as one wounded. With the arm of Thy strength Thou hast scattered Thine enemies.
11 Syèl la se pou ou ansanm ak latè a. Se ou ki kreye lemonn antye ak tou sa ki ladan l'.
Thine [are] the heavens — the earth also [is] Thine, The habitable world and its fulness, Thou hast founded them.
12 Se ou ki kreye nò ak sid. Mòn Tabò ak mòn Emon ap chante pou ou sitèlman yo kontan.
North and south Thou hast appointed them, Tabor and Hermon in Thy name do sing.
13 Ou pa manke fòs nan ponyèt ou! Ou p'ap bese tèt devan pesonn.
Thou hast an arm with might, Strong is Thy hand — high Thy right hand.
14 W'ap gouvènen tout bagay avèk jistis san patipri. Nan tout sa w'ap fè ou pa janm bliye jan ou renmen nou. W'ap toujou kenbe pwomès ou te fè nou yo.
Righteousness and judgment [Are] the fixed place of Thy throne, Kindness and truth go before Thy face.
15 Ala bon sa bon lè yon pèp gen kè kontan, lè l'ap viv yon jan ki fè ou plezi!
O the happiness of the people knowing the shout, O Jehovah, in the light of Thy face they walk habitually.
16 Tout lajounen y'ap fè fèt pou ou. Y'ap fè lwanj ou paske ou gen bon kè.
In Thy name they rejoice all the day, And in Thy righteousness they are exalted,
17 Se ou menm ki fè nou pa pè pesonn. Se paske ou renmen nou kifè nou genyen batay yo.
For the beauty of their strength [art] Thou, And in Thy good will is our horn exalted,
18 Paske, Seyè a se pwoteksyon nou, se ou menm, Bondye Izrayèl la, ki wa nou.
For of Jehovah [is] our shield, And of the Holy One of Israel our king.
19 Nan tan lontan, moun k'ap sèvi ou yo te wè ou nan yon vizyon. Ou te pale ak yo, ou te di yo: -Mwen te bay yon vanyan gason yon koudmen. Mwen te pran yon jenn gason nan pèp la, mwen mete l' chèf.
Then Thou hast spoken in vision, To Thy saint, yea, Thou sayest, I have placed help upon a mighty one, Exalted a chosen one out of the people,
20 Mwen te jwenn David, sèvitè mwen an, mwen te mete l' apa pou l' vin wa sou nou.
I have found David My servant, With My holy oil I have anointed him.
21 M'ap toujou soutni l' avèk fòs mwen. M'a fòtifye l' avèk pouvwa mwen.
With whom My hand is established, My arm also doth strengthen him.
22 Lènmi l' yo p'ap ka mete men sou li, mechan yo p'ap ka mete pye sou kou li.
An enemy exacteth not upon him, And a son of perverseness afflicteth him not.
23 M'ap kraze tout moun ki pa vle wè l' yo, m'ap touye moun ki rayi l' yo.
And I have beaten down before him his adversaries, And those hating him I plague,
24 M'ap toujou renmen l', m'ap toujou kenbe pawòl mwen ak li, mwen p'ap janm kite l' pèdi okenn batay.
And My faithfulness and kindness [are] with him, And in My name is his horn exalted.
25 M'ap fè l' gouvènen depi lanmè Mediterane jouk larivyè Lefrat.
And I have set on the sea his hand, And on the rivers his right hand.
26 L'a rele m', l'a di m': Se ou ki papa m', se ou menm ki Bondye m'. Se ou ki pwoteksyon m', se ou menm ki delivrans mwen.
He proclaimeth me: 'Thou [art] my Father, My God, and the rock of my salvation.'
27 Mwen menm, m'ap fè l' pase pou premye pitit gason mwen. Se li k'ap pi gran nan tout wa sou latè.
I also first-born do appoint him, Highest of the kings of the earth.
28 M'a toujou fè l' wè jan m' renmen l', m'ap toujou kenbe kontra mwen te fè ak li a.
To the age I keep for him My kindness, And My covenant [is] stedfast with him.
29 M'ap toujou chwazi yonn nan pitit pitit li yo pou wa. Gouvènman li a ap rete tout tan tout tan.
And I have set his seed for ever, And his throne as the days of the heavens.
30 Men, si pitit pitit li yo pa obeyi lalwa mwen ba yo, si yo pa mache dapre lòd mwen ba yo,
If his sons forsake My law, And in My judgments do not walk;
31 si yo pa swiv prensip mwen ba yo, si yo pa fè tout sa mwen mande yo fè,
If My statutes they pollute, And My commands do not keep,
32 m'ap pini yo pou peche yo fè, m'ap bat yo. M'ap ba yo kout fwèt pou tout sa yo fè ki mal.
I have looked after with a rod their transgression, And with strokes their iniquity,
33 Men, se pa sa k'ap fè m' sispann renmen David, ni k'ap fè m' pa kenbe pwomès mwen te fè l' la.
And My kindness I break not from him, Nor do I deal falsely in My faithfulness.
34 Non. Mwen p'ap kase kontra mwen pase ak li a, ni mwen p'ap janm manke l' pawòl.
I profane not My covenant, And that which is going forth from My lips I change not.
35 Depi mwen fè sèman sou non mwen yon sèl fwa, se fini: Mwen p'ap bay David manti.
Once I have sworn by My holiness, I lie not to David,
36 Pitit pitit li yo va toujou wa. Y'a gouvènen devan mwen toutotan solèy la va la.
His seed is to the age, And his throne [is] as the sun before Me,
37 Gouvènman li an ap la pou tout tan, tankou lalin ki toujou klere nan syèl la.
As the moon it is established — to the age, And the witness in the sky is stedfast. (Selah)
38 Men, malgre sa, ou fache sou wa ou te chwazi a, ou vire do ba li, ou voye l' jete.
And Thou, Thou hast cast off, and dost reject, Thou hast shown Thyself wroth With Thine anointed,
39 Ou pa menm okipe kontra ou te fè avèk sèvitè ou la. Ou pran kouwòn ki te sou tèt li a, ou voye l' jete nan labou.
Hast rejected the covenant of Thy servant, Thou hast polluted to the earth his crown,
40 Ou kraze tout miray li yo, ou lage yo atè. Ou kite tout fò li yo fin kraze nèt.
Thou hast broken down all his hedges, Thou hast made his fenced places a ruin.
41 Tout moun k'ap pase nan lari ap piye kay li, tout vwazinaj li yo ap pase l' nan rizib.
Spoiled him have all passing by the way, He hath been a reproach to his neighbours,
42 Ou kite lènmi l' yo kraze l' anba pye yo. Ou fè yo tout kontan.
Thou hast exalted the right hand of his adversaries, Thou hast caused all his enemies to rejoice.
43 Ou kase dan tout zam li yo, ou kite yo kraze l' nan lagè.
Also — Thou turnest back the sharpness of his sword, And hast not established him in battle,
44 Ou te wete baton kòmandman an nan men l', ou pran fotèy li a, ou jete l' atè.
Hast caused [him] to cease from his brightness, And his throne to the earth hast cast down.
45 Ou fè l' vin vye anvan lè li, ou fè l' wont nèt.
Thou hast shortened the days of his youth, Hast covered him over [with] shame. (Selah)
46 Seyè, jouk kilè w'ap rete kache pou nou pa wè ou? Gen lè se pou tout tan! W'ap kite kòlè ou boule nou tankou dife?
Till when, O Jehovah, art Thou hidden? For ever doth Thy fury burn as fire?
47 Seyè, chonje moun pa anyen, lavi yo kout. Chonje se ou ki kreye tout moun pou yo tounen pousyè.
Remember, I pray Thee, what [is] life-time? Wherefore in vain hast Thou created All the sons of men?
48 Eske gen moun ki ka viv san l' pa janm mouri? Kisa yon moun ka fè pou l' pa janm al anba tè? (Sheol h7585)
Who [is] the man that liveth, and doth not see death? He delivereth his soul from the hand of Sheol. (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
49 Seyè, kote sa ou te fè nan tan lontan pou fè nou wè jan ou renmen nou an? Kote tout bèl pwomès ou te fè David yo?
Where [are] Thy former kindnesses, O Lord. Thou hast sworn to David in Thy faithfulness,
50 Seyè, pa bliye jan y'ap pase sèvitè ou yo nan betiz! Pa bliye jan moun lòt nasyon yo ap joure mwen!
Remember, O Lord, the reproach of Thy servants, I have borne in my bosom all the strivings of the peoples,
51 Seyè, pa bliye jan lènmi ou yo ap joure, jan y'ap joure wa ou te chwazi a kote l' pase.
Wherewith Thine enemies reproached, O Jehovah, Wherewith they have reproached The steps of Thine anointed.
52 Ann toujou fè lwanj Seyè a! Wi, se vre! Amèn!
Blessed [is] Jehovah to the age. Amen, and amen!
