By David, [a Psalm sung by] the sons of Jonadab, and the first that were taken captive. O Lord, I have hoped in thee: let me never be put to shame.
Pote m' sekou!
In thy righteousness deliver me and rescue me: incline thine ear to me, and save me.
Be to me a protecting God, and a strong hold to save me: for thou art my fortress and my refuge.
4 Bondye mwen, wete m' anba men mechan yo, anba ponyèt moun k'ap bay manti yo ak moun k'ap fè mechanste yo.
Deliver me, O my God, from the hand of the sinner, from the hand of the transgressor and unjust man.
For thou art my support, O Lord; O Lord, [thou art] my hope from my youth.
On thee have I been stayed from the womb: from the belly of my mother thou art my protector: of thee is my praise continually.
7 Lavi m' se yon mistè pou anpil moun. Men, se ou menm k'ap pwoteje m' ak tout fòs ou.
I am become as it were a wonder to many: but thou art [my] strong helper.
8 Tout lajounen lwanj ou nan bouch mwen. M'ap fè konnen jan ou gen pouvwa.
Let my mouth be filled with praise, that I may hymn thy glory, [and] thy majesty all the day.
9 Koulye a mwen fin granmoun, tanpri pa voye m' jete. Koulye a mwen fin pèdi fòs, pa lage m'.
Cast me not off at the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength fails.
10 Lènmi m' yo ap pale m' mal. Yo mete tèt yo ansanm, yo dèyè pou yo touye m'.
For mine enemies have spoken against me; and they that lay wait for my soul have taken counsel together,
11 Y'ap plede di: -Bondye lage l'. Kouri dèyè l', kenbe l', paske pa gen moun pou delivre l'.
saying, God has forsaken him: persecute ye and take him; for there is none to deliver [him].
12 Bondye, pa rete lwen mwen. Bondye mwen, prese vin pote m' sekou.
O God, go not far from me, O my God, draw nigh to my help.
13 Se pou moun k'ap atake m' yo wont, se pou yo disparèt. Wi, se pou yo wont, se pou moun pase yo nan rizib, moun sa yo ki te vle wè malè rive mwen.
Let those that plot against my soul be ashamed and utterly fail: let those that seek my hurt be clothed with shame and dishonour.
14 M'ap toujou mete espwa mwen sou ou. M'ap fè lwanj ou tout tan tout tan.
But I will hope continually, and will praise thee more and more.
My mouth shall declare thy righteousness openly, [and] thy salvation all the day; for I am not acquainted with the affairs [of men].
I will go on in the might of the Lord: O Lord, I will make mention of thy righteousness only.
17 Bondye, depi lè m' te jenn gason w'ap aprann mwen anpil bagay. Jouk koulye a m'ap rakonte bèl bagay ou fè yo.
O God, thou hast taught me from my youth, and until now will I declare thy wonders;
18 Koulye a mwen fin vye granmoun, tout cheve nan tèt mwen fin blan. Tanpri, Bondye, pa lage m'. Kanpe la avè m' pou m' ka fè moun k'ap viv koulye a konnen jan ou gen fòs, pou m' ka fè tout moun ki gen pou vin apre yo konnen jan ou vanyan,
even until I am old and advanced in years. O God, forsake me not; until I shall have declared thine arm to all the generation that is to come:
19 jan jistis ou rive jouk nan syèl la. Bondye, ou fè bèl bagay. Pa gen tankou ou!
even thy power and thy righteousness, O God, up to the highest [heavens, even] the mighty works which thou has done: O God, who is like to thee?
20 Ou voye traka ak soufrans ban nou. Men se ou k'ap ban nou lavi ankò. W'ap rale nou soti nan bouch twou a.
What afflictions many and sore hast thou shewed me! yet thou didst turn and quicken me, and broughtest me again from the depths of the earth.
21 W'ap fè m' pi grannèg pase jan m' te ye a. W'ap konsole m' ankò.
Thou didst multiply thy righteousness, and didst turn and comfort me, and broughtest me again out of the depths of the earth.
22 Se vre wi, m'a fè lwanj ou avèk kout gita. M'a fè lwanj ou, Bondye mwen, paske w'ap toujou kenbe pawòl ou. M'a chante, m'a jwe mizik sou gita mwen pou Bondye pèp Izrayèl la.
I will also therefore give thanks to thee, O God, [because of] thy truth, on an instrument of psalmody: I will sing psalms to thee on the harp, O Holy One of Israel.
23 M'a chante pou ou. M'a rele sitèlman mwen kontan. M'a chante ak tout kè m' paske ou te delivre m'.
My lips shall rejoice when I sing to thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed.
24 Tout lajounen m'a fè konnen jan ou pa nan patipri, paske moun ki te vle wè malè rive m' yo gen pou yo wont. Yo p'ap konn sa pou yo fè.
Moreover also my tongue shall dwell all the day upon thy righteousness; when they shall be ashamed and confounded that seek my hurt.
