1 Pou chèf sanba yo. Se sou enstriman yo rele fif pou yo jwe mizik la. Se yon sòm David. Koute sa m'ap di ou, Seyè! Tande jan m'ap plenn!
To the Chief Musician. For the Flutes. A Melody of David. To my words, give ear, O Yahweh, Understand thou my softly murmured prayer:
2 Se ou ki wa mwen, se ou ki Bondye mwen. Pran ka m', Seyè, lè m'ap rele ou! Se ou menm m'ap lapriyè, Seyè.
Attend to the voice of my cry, my King and my God, for, unto thee, do I pray.
3 Chak maten ou tande vwa m'. Kou solèy leve, mwen mete lapriyè m' devan ou. M'ap tann ou reponn mwen.
O Yahweh! in the morning, shalt thou hear my voice, In the morning, will I set in order unto thee, and keep watch;
4 Ou se yon Bondye ki pa pran plezi nan bagay ki mal. Ou pa tolere mechan yo bò kote ou.
For, not a GOD finding pleasure in lawlessness, art thou, and wrong can be no guest of thine:
5 Moun k'ap vante tèt yo pa ka kanpe devan ou. Ou pa vle wè moun k'ap fè mechanste.
Boasters, shall not station themselves, before thine eyes, —Thou hatest all workers of iniquity:
6 Ou detwi tout moun k'ap bay manti. Ou pa ka sipòte moun k'ap touye moun, ni moun k'ap twonpe moun.
Thou wilt destroy them who speak falsehood, —The man of bloodshed and of deceit, Yahweh abhorreth.
7 Men mwen menm, m'a antre lakay ou, paske ou renmen m' anpil. M'ap lage kò m' nan pye ou, nan kay ki apa pou ou a. M'ap adore ou.
But, I, in the abounding of thy lovingkindness, will enter thy house, I will bow down towards thy holy temple, in reverence of thee:
8 Seyè, mwen gen anpil lènmi k'ap veye m'. Pran men m' pou m' ka fè sa ki dwat devan ou. Fè m' wè chemen ou mete devan m' lan, fè m' wè l' aklè.
O Yahweh! lead me in thy righteousness, because of mine adversaries, Make even, before me, thy way:
9 Ou pa janm ka kwè moun sa yo. Se dèyè yon sèl bagay yo ye: yo vle fini ak tout moun. Anndan bouch yo, ou ta di yon kavo ki louvri, lang yo menm dous konsa pou flate moun.
For in his mouth is nothing worthy of trust, Their inward purpose, is engulphing ruin, —An opened sepulchre, is their throat, With their tongue, speak they smooth things.
10 Se mechan yo ye. Kondannen yo, Bondye. Gate tout plan yo te fè. Pou valè peche yo fè, wete yo devan jè ou. paske se kenbe y'ap kenbe tèt ak ou.
Declare them guilty, O God, Let them fall by their own counsels, —Into the throng of their own transgressions, thrust them down, For they have rebelled against thee: —
11 Men, tout moun ki mete konfyans yo nan ou, fè kè yo kontan. Se pou yo chante san rete tèlman yo kontan. W'ap pwoteje moun ki renmen ou. Ou fè yo chante pou ou tèlman yo kontan.
That all may rejoice who seek refuge in thee, to times age-abiding, may shout in triumph, that thou wilt protect them, and they may leap for joy in thee who are lovers of thy Name.
12 Paske ou menm Seyè, ou beni moun ki obeyi ou. Ou kouvri yo avèk favè ou, w'ap kanpe bò kote yo pou pran defans yo.
For, thou, wilt bless the righteous man, O Yahweh, As with an all-covering shield—with good pleasure, wilt thou encompass him.
